Loverboy is absolutely one of our BEST Canadian treasures. Mike Reno's vocals are insane. Lovin Every Minute of It, Working for the Weekend, This Could Be the Night, When It's Over, Almost Paradise (from Footloose), and Heaven in Your Eyes are ALL must listens. Enjoy the ride.
I bet all the girls in Canada wanted him back then with those vocals and super cool leather pants he was wearing . I want some of those pants even today , they are so cool looking , damn ! Liberté du Québec oui Monsieur ! Oh oui !
That's was mine and (then) my roommate's Friday afternoon BLAST THE STEREO tune when we were in the service! Great song to pump up two buzz-cut kids before hitting the New Jersey bars (drinking age was 18 then) those nights! Great memories of an easier time. And yeah, I'm still in contact with my old roommate. 😊
My radio station played it every Friday at 5:00 pm. I used to turn the volume up on my car radio and sing along to it on my way home from work. That's when I knew the weekend had officially started.
You've been missing out for sure. Mike Reno's voice is so underrated. Working for the Weekend, The Kid is Hot Tonight, This Could Be the Night, Notorious, Almost Paradise (his duet with Ann Wilson for the Footloose movie soundtrack), Lucky Ones, Hot Girls in Love, When It's Over, Heaven in Your Eyes (for the Top Gun soundtrack).
@@claudettesmith8328I'm aware but Loverboy also did a song called Notorious. It was one of their biggest hits. You do realize that song titles aren't exclusive to one band, right? For example, Aerosmith, Anita Baker, Eurythmics, Jon Secada, and Madonna all have a song titled "Angel" and they are all different.
One of the best rock bands from the 80s. I had their posters all over my bedroom walls and a loverboy t- shirt. Mike's voice is amazing. Please do more reactions to their music. You won't be disappointed ❤❤❤
I saw them back in September and his voice is still strong. This song takes me back to high school. Thanks for all the memories that you bring and sharing your journey with us!
So many great hits - "Hot Girls in Love", "Everybody's Working for the Weekend", "Notorious", "Lovin Every Minute of It", "The Kid is Hot Tonight". Canada gave us some amazing bands/artists, including this one. Mike Reno has an amazing voice. Keep going down this rabbit hole.

Loverboy! Many hits, but my favorite is "Lovin Every Minute of it", with the video! I used to put their cassette into the tape deck in my car and listen with the window open blowing back my permed big hair, big earrings and big shoulder pads, LOL!! Those were the days!!
Miss that look on the ladies back then. The 80's were the absolute best times and the people were so much more fun to hang out with. Miss the beer ball parties in the gravel beds.
I remember listening to Loverboy when I was in high school living in Michigan. They would tour there a lot being a Canadian band. 2 years ago, I was able to see them with STYX, and REO.
Another great 80's Canadian band! 🇨🇦 Mike Reno has some pipes on him and the leather pants! 😉 Loving every minute of it Working for weekend It's over Great driving to the cabin music.

This Could Be The Night and Lovin' Every Minute of It are great!! You have likely heard of "Working For the Weekend" with audio clips or something. They used to play it on radios on Friday 5 PM when people got off work. Wow this takes me back to high school! Thanks :)
I forget that I'm old and that there are people who haven't heard so much of this music. In my mind these songs were from only a few years ago. I'm feeling older every day.
There is an epic live version of this song from some years later that is awesome - as good as the studio version, and his voice is still epic, the whole band is of the highest calibre musically.
Was visiting a buddy up in Allentown, Pa. back in the late '90's (Drove up from Philly). Walked to the Allentown Fairgrounds, hit the beer garden for a few and decided to stay for the free concert. Loverboy. One of those good time moments.
This band was on fire when I was in ninth and 10 grade (early 80’s) I think that’s all anyone could listen to, it’s crazy how this music just goes away, brought back some memories 😊

This group was my very first concert...I am Canadian ,as is LOVERBOY...I looooove this. Lots of great Canadian rock groups...April Wine , Trooper, Harlequin..lets rock
Definitely still touring, and considering his age, Reno still has pipes. Seeing this band in concert is always fun (especially in 🇨🇦, where they are from) as it's like listening to a Greatest Hits album with friends. Everybody dances and sings along as we all know the lyrics.
Loverboy ruled the Airways in the early 80's. I blewout two sets of Pioneer 6x9 speakers Blasting Loverboy in my Car. After that I started buying Sanyo Speakers to save money.
Loverboy had an awesome string of top 40 hits. Their stuff is so good that it's very hard to pick a favorite Loverboy song, there's so many great ones.

Fantastic, high energy group that features the amazing vocals of Mike Reno! Many great songs-some were used in movies! Excellent rabbit hole BP.
I was in high school when this came out... I remember another school buddy doing the main rift on his guitar just sitting in the hall one day... epic epic Canadian song. I also saw them live in '84 (I think) in the summer time outdoors at Landsdown Park in Ottawa. Those were great times!
I went through three of the "Get Lucky" cassettes from listening to them until they broke. Radio cranked up, windows down, flying down these country back roads in my Mustang (and my stepdad's El Camino🤫).
Other Loverboy songs to check out are: "The Kid is Hot Tonight", "Working For the Weekend", "Take Me to the Top", and "When It's Over".
Their best song, and Mike Reno's voice was criminally underrated.
