My mom had me at 39. She wasn’t even supposed to be able to get pregnant. So what she did after 40 was raise a little girl by herself in a time when being a single mom was NOT the norm.

My mom had me when she was 41. Thankfully my parents were overjoyed to have another baby, but there is an 11 year gap between me and my sister.

@@Hippidippimahm 1963. My bio dad was supposed to be in the middle of a divorce, told my mom he needed to go back to sign some papers and never came back. One relative told her to end the pregnancy because of the social stigma but she never even considered it, as this was a miracle for her. My grandma told the other person to shut it and that was the end of that discussion. My grandma was not someone you argued with, and the coolest person I ever knew.

As a man married to a taller woman trust me when I say that if a man makes you feel unprotected it has nothing to do with his height. There is height of stature and height of the inner man. It can truly level the playing field. Now, a short man with a Napoleon complex is not what I am talking about. And a tall man with small strength of character is just as bad. My sister is about 5'2", and her husband is about 6'5" (like Mutt and Jeff when together) and he is more than capable of "protecting" her, but she is definitely more than capable of defending herself, and there have been times that even he was scared of her because she can have an intensity that is frightening.

As a 5'7" guy, this (the Tom Holland section) is hilarious! My ex was was 5"10 and when I was much younger, I dated someone who was 5'11". There were some hilarious moments in public settings. The next time I date someone tall, I will ask about climbing and latching on like a Koala bear. A protective Koala bear. 😉

I always thought it was really dumb that people act like Tom Holland being 5 7 disqualifies him to be James Bond. Tom Cruise is the exact same height and people have had no issue with him being an action star for the better part of three decades.
I think it’s also because he’s so young looking and slight, not so much his age. I feel like Bond needs to be older, personally. I love Tom Holland but maybe to play Bond in 10 years.

Tom Cruise is shorter. He is 5’6”. It’s the lifts he wears in his shoes that make him look (very slightly) taller. He also has an I’m more important than you attitude, which doesn’t make anyone attractive.

I have actually heard of a 52 year old woman who thought she had gone through menopause and ended up having a baby completely by accident, all naturally, and the birth happened so fast she didn't even make it to the hospital. Both mom and baby were fine and her 30 year old daughter was shocked, to say the least, to find out she had a new sibling.

I agree! I hate it so much when women insult men for being short. Honestly, I've been attracted to many guys who happen to be on the shorter side and never understood this weird bias where women automatically eliminate all sorts of amazing, great-looking men simply because of their height.
The sexiest, sweetest, most thoughtful guy I ever dated was several inches shorter than me. He didn't care, I sure didn't care. That was back when I was in shape and had a weight training class twice a week at college. I could pick him up, put him over my shoulder and RUN! We would fall down laughing. He was so much fun to be silly with. He had zero fux what others thought.
We were going to be married, but I had a tragedy in my life (long story) and had to go into hiding and eventually move far away. He let me keep the gorgeous antique engagement ring. An emerald cut Aquamarine with diamonds. Prettiest thing I own!

Same here. I mean, for real. HEIGHT is one of those things we really, really cannot have any say or do anything about. Genechips lay where they may. Or whatever that saying is.
You can trim your hair and beard or not have them or grow back. You can work on your body. You cannot manipulate your height.
Here average height for men is 178cm and then you see women saying man had to be +185cm or +190cm and then cry how they are single.
I am average height woman married to average height man.
Whenever I hear people say height is a deal breaker for them, I can't help thinking about my parents and my cousin. My Mom is very tall and my Dad is average height. My cousin is REALLY tall. She almost always dated guys who were shorter than her before I introduced her to my friend. He's one of the rare guys who are actually taller than her. He's the first and only guy whom she's ever dated that is taller than her. She still gets weirded out sometimes from having to actually look up at him.
She didn't break up with her previous boyfriends because they were short nor is she dating my friend because he's tall. She's loves him for his quiet, calm, and introverted personality. He's sweet to her and they can be geeks together. They make each other better human beings. Shouldn't that be the goal when you're dating someone?

Anyways I didn't know who these people were but they were lifelong friends. the pictures they showed had them growing up together as friends and it was beautiful to see them fall in love in the photo slideshow and know that They were getting married that day. the groom was like 2 feet shorter than the bride and to this day that wedding was the most beautiful one I have ever been to.

What you said is so true. I went thru a long dry spell where I couldn't get any of the women in the social groups I was in to look at me even sideways. Then I met and got with a woman from outside these groups, and suddenly all those women who ignored me before were checking me out and flirtatious with me. I always thought it was that they figured now that I was with someone, They could be more open because I wouldn't hit on them, but I think you are right, it is also them wondering what she sees in me, and they had missed, kind of thing, as well.
BTW, you look great in this vid.
I had my first (and last!) baby at 36, had zero trouble getting pregnant, and she’s perfectly healthy. Not only that, having a baby older gave me the professional and economic stability and emotional maturity to raise a child SO much better than when I was 20. Fertility is personal to each woman and all of our journeys are different. I’m so glad you brought up the point that your choice to have a baby doesn’t disappear at 35. Sooo many women are told misinformation about fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood! ❤️

Good Old Days were back in the late 80's/early 90's. Limited technology, kids still played outside, drank from the hose, rode in the bed of pickup trucks, prices for everything was cheaper, living wage was still more easily obtainable, and the best part was no social media that made bullying millions of times worse!!

I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. In Summer, my brother and I took off on bikes all day with the neighborhood kids, didn't come back until just before dinner. We rode around looking for pop bottles to return to the store for nickels. A dollar then could buy a bag full of candy. "Penny candy" was a real thing!
No cellphones then, so Mom couldn't contact us. We had the mother "network" though, because back then moms could stay home.
We stayed out of trouble, pretty much. Those other moms had permission to discipline us with no threat of being sued by other parents.
I remember being about 6 years old when my older brother came up with a stupid prank to pull on one of those moms. We put ketchup all over a kid, and carried him to her doorstep as he pretended to be unconscious, told her he had been hit by a car.
She freaked at first, then she got mad when she realized she'd been punked. She made us all sit on her gravel driveway for an hour "time-out", while she told us the story of the Boy Who Cried "Wolf". I felt awful, never did anything like that ever again, and learned to not go along with my brother's dumb ideas!
@@LazyIRanch haha….when I was a child in the 60s, I lived in a medium sized city and discovered that when you paid your 10 cent fare on the bus you could get a transfer slip and ride all day on the city bus system. Drove my mother crazy because she couldn’t find me. I got in trouble for that many times.

When I was in my early teens I went on a diet (again - been on diets practically since birth), and I went downstairs one night to get a glass of water. My dad was standing in front of the fridge eating ice cream from the carton. I mentioned how I can't enjoy ice cream until I'm thinner, and he goes, "I've noticed the improvement. Why, you're whittling away to a ton!" After a moment of processing the comment through my Angst Filter, I saw the grin that meant no matter what he said, it always meant that he loved me. So I chose to see the humor and we both ha a good laugh. Hey, this is the same man who put me to bed one night when I was about 5, and when I asked him to tell me a story, said, "Did I tell you the one about the three holes in the ground?" I said he hadn't, and he replied, "Well, well, well," stood up and left the room. After a moment of processing the comment through my Adults Are Weird filter, my Pun Lightbulb went off and I laughed myself to sleep. For real. I had an odd childhood (which explains SO much about me...). I'm now an active member of a Facebook group for pun lovers. Guess you could say I'm all *groan* up. "D

My dad was a "slight" guy who lived outside of Chicago where gangsters had hidden vacation homes and they wanted him to be a jockey. I did end up dating a jockey. He was so small that they had to add 26 pounds when he rode. But here's the thing...he COMMANDED a 1500 pound horse and had crazy attitude. Attitude is everything.!

The boyfriend of my cousin went bald at an pretty early age. My Mom once asked him if he has an issue with that. Like if it hurt his pride or something. He just looked her dead in the eyes, ran his hand over his head and said: „It ain‘t that bad. I think I read that baldness is passed mostly through maternal genes, but that sounds sketchy to me. We get genetics from both parents.
Bald gene is in X-chromosome so yes, men get it from maternal side. Nothing sketchy in biology
Women don't suffer from it because if they carry bald X, they most likely get healthy X as other chromosome.
It's like colour blindless is in chromesome X. That's why men are more likely to be colour blind because they get X from their mother. Women to be colour blind need to have that in both Xs.

I know a couple of flat-earthers and several moon landing deniers, and they are impervious to reason.
A "friend" told me only an idiot would believe the moon landing was real.
I told him there were at least 3 moon landings, 12 men have walked on the moon, and there are man-made objects that can be seen through a telescope today that were left behind.

He was on the team that designed and built the radios inside the suits, so when we heard those first words spoken by Neil Armstrong, it had even more special significance to us. It's quite creepy and disgusting that some men even look at women and instead of seeing people they think about how fertile we are and whether or not we're "using it". And imagine women without kids just twirling their thumbs like we're good for nothing but having babies. We don't do such thing as travel, have careers we're passionate about, live...
