Hi.. I have been looking at your video but still cannot connect my I phone to my cobra system. It says connect close. I have been trying for 3 years to connect. I don't know what else to do. Do you happen to know what I am doing wrong?
this video is for the 4K system, is your three year old system a 1080p system? the 2 systems have different options, to teest use your phone to connect to the system with the client, using your home wifi, if it does not work over your home wifi, it won't work anywhere - change your password for the user you are trying login as to a new password that is no more than 8 characters, there is an 8 character password limit on the phone app, the console for the system can use more than 8 characters, but the app can not, it you have the 4k system, you should try to connect to it from a web browser from your phone or a computer connected to your home wifi network, this would verify the network was working - the 1080p system does not allow web browsers to connect to the system, only phones - do the wifi test at home and let me know the results and we can try other options - thanks for subscribing!

I use mine with no issues, what you have described is a problem with your ISP router, it is not allowing uPNP to open ports, you can either configure port forwarding on your ISP router, if they allow it, or you can call your ISP and they should make the change for you - you should find the ports on this video, if not - watch this video - ruclips.net/video/BqvQy7jjGMs/видео.html - or check my playlist, I have one for this system with several videos, going from memory, ports that need opened - both TCP and UDP for ports 443(web)/80(web)/9000(client control), 554(RTSP) is listed as a port used, but it should be a data stream from your NVR to your phone, not inbound, but I recommend opening it also, I have not performed a data capture to confirm what it is doing in detail - although I just setup a capture device and a capture point between my ISP router and my home network - and plan to do this soon - more details in the videos - thanks for subscribing!
Really nub question here but if you initially set up this system to view and save to the hard drive, can you at the same time at a diffeent location access the wi fi viewing?

I'm not familiar with all hotspots, but this system requires an ethernet cabled connection to a network device, such has a wifi router (ISP router ) and the phones connect to via wifi to this router when home, and thru the internet when away, so you need a router that supports a wired connect - look under playlist on my channel and you will find several videos on how to setup this system for more details - thanks for subscribing!

Hi - thanks for posting this tutorial, it definitely helped me get set up. Have you found any way to manually delete video? While setting up I recorded a couple hours of me adjusting cameras, picking my nose while staring at the cameras, and my cat walking in circles. I'm sure it's recording individual files, especially with motion detection recording on. It seems crazy you can't just select a section of video on the timeline and delete it.
the HDD option on the NVR should be set to auto, if so, the video is on a loop, so first video in is first video overwritten, sometimes called a circular loop, if not set to auto, the HDD will fill up and stop recording anything - while you can cut out sections of video and save them to a usb drive, the video is a continuous stream, the best way to get rid of video you don't want saved is to set it to full time record and make the overwrite happen faster, not a perfect solution, but it would work - thanks for subscribing!

I use 1080p on the local monitor, because of my monitor, http to the NVR on the local network I use 4K , the default stream to the phone app is 'mobile stream' which is a scaled down resolution for speed - the width of the video on the phone is variable based on the orientation of your phone and if you have one camera or more cameras selected - 4K is nice, and I use 4K for recording, but seldom do I really need the 4K for real-time viewing, if I need more, I can crop the video recording and display it on my computer - I had a neighborhood juvenile delinquent stealing mail from my mailbox, 4K recording was handy for the police to view, so recording 4K is worth it - thanks for subscribing!
it comes with 2 cameras and you can by 6 more, they are sold individually at HF, I bought 2 on sale and they cost $110, you can check the website for regular price, but I had a 20% coupon, of course I tool coupon deadman with me so I could use it twice - thanks for subscribing!
please read thru the comments for more details - but check username is only 8 characters, ethernet cable between NVR and you ISP router, wifi turned on on your phone - still not working? go to the network setting setup screen and get your system's IP address and also get the ports used for the remote connections and contact your ISP and ask them to open these port inbound from the internet to your system - your ISP modem is not accepting uPNP requests to do that for you - thanks for subscribing!

So uninstall the app , reinstall without the WIFI and follow the rest of the video
strange post, the program installs the same on wifi and cellular, the program can not tell the difference, if the program connections over cellular, it will work over wifi, the only time the app has a problem connecting is when your local ISP router does not support upnp and isblocking inbound ports, the only reason so do the initial setup over wifi is to remove the isp router from the connection path, re-read your recommendations, you say it only worked in the video because cellular was on, then you advise to fix that by ensuring only cellular is on, seems a little redundant - thanks for subscribing!
I would check out the power pack for the unit, it is probably 'weak' or overheating - hard to troubleshoot it, no spare with this system, it also uses a telco voltage that very other product use, the weak or overheating part might be inside the use, but from the behavior, I'm betting it is the power pack - you can talk to HF customer service or try to exchange the entire system - thanks for subscribing!
next steps - make sure your username is only 8 characters, make sure your wifi on your phone is on and get it working before leaving the house - still not working ? uPNP is not working to open the inbound network port - go to network screen, get the list of ports, call your ISP and have them open the ports - want longer directions? more info? read my reply to many similar questions in the comments - thanks for subscribing!

I've heard the remote viewing only works when your smartphone is connected to the same wifi network as the router connected to the NVR. Does this mean I can only view cameras on my phone when at home with wifi conenction on my phone. How can I view the cameras live when out of town?
remote viewing works fine, follow the steps in this video, you will see me setup it up and use it via the cellular network on my phone, not sure who told you that, but they did not set it up correctly, ask them to watch this video and they can view their cameras remotely too, I recommend you set it up and verify it works on your local network, just to verify it is setup correctly, then disconnect your wireless and let the phone network connect to your system thru the internet - I encourage you to watch the video and follow the same steps, I filmed it to prove it works - thanks for subscribing!
I follow these exact steps and it pulls up everything after I scan the QR code but it tells me "Connect Failed". Please help if you know how to trouble shoot this! Thanks Brother!
read thru the comments, more detail there, but start by turning on wifi on your phone, make sure your system is attached to your ISP router with an ethernet cable, try to connect, if no connection, make sure you have 2 years, admin and a new user, on new user enable everything (you can remove options later), be sure you enable user - make sure you have a password that is only 8 characters, no connection? user a web browser (desktop better) and connect to your system use http, get IP from network panel on console (under setup), should be format 10.0.0.x or 192.168.1.x, with x being a number 1-255, login using your new user, make sure you can login and view the cameras, the #1 cause of not being able to connect on local wifi is password issues, once this works, turn off wifi on phone and connect, if no connect, then your ISP router is not accepting uPNP commands from NVR, get ports from network tab and call ISP and tell them you need to add port forwarding to your ISP router to the NVR - once you scan the system and get added to your phone, do not delete the device, just change username and password as needed - summary - setup new user, connect via wifi from the phone, only after that works should you try without wifi - turning local wifi remove the ISP from your troubleshooting, turning off wifi makes the phone connect over the internet, just like when you are away from home - thanks for subscribing!

the two most common causes of connect close - 1: password either not matching or longer than 8 characters - 2: your ISP router not supporting uPNP, the fix fo this is to talk to your ISP have them open inbound ports listed in the network tab, this is commonly called port-mapping or NAT/PAT (network address translation/Port address translation) - assuming of course there is a network cable connecting the NVR to your ISP router and your phone is using wi-fi to connect to your ISP router - this will get the remote option working on local wi-fi before you turn off wi-fi to test real remote viewing over the internet - thanks for subscribing!
make sure you have upnp turned on on the ISP router, or have your ISP open the ports listed in the network tab, if you have the 1080p system, make sure uPNP is turned on in the network config tab, it is auto on the 4K system - also make sure you are using an 8 character password, the app will not support a longer password - connect close means the software can not connect to the NVR - recommend you get it working with wifi turned on and connected to your local ISP router - thanks for subscribing!
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviewsI tried what you said and still can’t get it to work. It was fine until I changed wifi providers and now it won’t work. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong
it broke when you switched providers, that is the cause, the new provider with does not support upnp or they are blocking the ports, what did they say about opening up the ports for you? it is commonly called port forwarding and opens up the port to pass thru your firewall to the NVR/DVR - thanks for subscribing!

I'm trying to use my original cobra cameras with this new system using adapters to convert to ethernet plugs. Cameras work fine with original DVR, but not with new one. Anyone else having an issue?
the older system camera will not work with this system, they use a 2 wire coax cable and the new system uses 4 wire CAT5/6 cable (I recommend CAT 6, but what comes with the system seems to be CAT 5 or 5E) - and the signaling protocol is different I used the cables for the old system as a pull cord for the new cables, that adapter is probably a balun (balanced to unbalanced), and it uses 2 wires only, it is really an impedance match, I have seen these used to run coax over CAT5/6, but it only uses 2 wires of the CAT wires to extend the COAX, they will not support ethernet over coax because of the number of wires and the disparate signaling protocols - CAT5/6 normally has 8 wires, but there a POE standard that uses 4 wires, CAT 5/6 refers to the gauge of the cable and the number of twists per inch in each cable pair, which in turn is used to support a specific frequency limit per cable
did you try to get it working with the wifi on your phone turned on? that will eliminate internet issues from the setup, make sure you have the nvr connected to your ISP router via an ethernet cable, a little more info will be required to help you troubleshoot - following the process in the video, what is happening on each step? - thanks for subscribing!
you setup the cameras and display them on the TV/Monitor just find, no wifi or ISP connection, you will lose the remove view option - the cameras are wired direct to the NVR, the NVR is wired direct to your ISP router, The NVR and cameras do not use wifi - so no ISP, no remote viewing, but you get local display - thanks for subscribing!

@@MunchkinMoD remote viewing is watching the video on anything other than the monitor connected to the NVR - 2 basic kinds of camera, 1) cameras that are wired to the system - regardless of the type, they are connected to the NVR or DVR and the NVR/DVR manages the connection - difference between NVR/DVR? not a lot..... the NVR lets you connect remote cameras(that are connected to another NVR not located where your NVR is, the DVR only supports what is connected to it directly - wifi cams connect to your wifi, and use IP to connect to the NVR, and are a bitch to configure, and I don't recommend them at this point, they need to work better before I would buy them, but some IP cameras can operate independent of a NVR, but are normally a little more expensive, the best I've used is ~$400 and worth every penny, but you have to use your phone or a computer to view them - hope this helps - if you have more questions, feel free to ask - thanks for subscribing!

I'm not sure what stopping means, does it show you the camera and then it does not show you the camera? if it shows the cameras even once, you have the basic setup correct - the app will not stay connected to your NVR 24/7, it times out deliberately to save you data on your phone and the load of the NVR, but when you go back into the app after it times out, it should auto reconnect after a few seconds - check under devices, it it has a red mark, it means its not connected, if it does not connect ever, check your username and password and make sure your password is not more than 8 characters, you have to confirm its connecting and showing video to find where the problems is, make sure you get it working standing in front of the unit with your wifi turned on, before trying it remote - let me know if you ever see video on your phone, with the wifi turned on and we can troubleshoot from there - thanks for subscribing!

Cool. Can you buy more cameras for it at Harbor Freight?
it comes with 2 cameras and you can by 6 more, they are sold individually at HF, I bought 2 on sale and they cost $110, you can check the website for regular price, but I had a 20% coupon, of course I tool coupon deadman with me so I could use it twice - thanks for subscribing!
Hello, when i try to connect the camera to the app it says "connect failed" in red. Any idea how to fix this?
please read thru the comments for more details - but check username is only 8 characters, ethernet cable between NVR and you ISP router, wifi turned on on your phone - still not working? go to the network setting setup screen and get your system's IP address and also get the ports used for the remote connections and contact your ISP and ask them to open these port inbound from the internet to your system - your ISP modem is not accepting uPNP requests to do that for you - thanks for subscribing!
If anyone is having issues with cameras being offline using the app on the cellular network I will like to add that in this video it seems he was on his cell network by accident that is actually how is linked to the cameras not using WiFi.
My cobra 63890 system keeps rebooting every few hours, any suggestions to fix this, thanks.
Mine won't connect at that point. Anyone know my next steps.
next steps - make sure your username is only 8 characters, make sure your wifi on your phone is on and get it working before leaving the house - still not working ? uPNP is not working to open the inbound network port - go to network screen, get the list of ports, call your ISP and have them open the ports - want longer directions? more info? read my reply to many similar questions in the comments - thanks for subscribing!
How about for Android? I put my phone camera on the multiple QR codes that are on the DVR itself as well as the one the comes up under settings and wifi settings. And not one of the QR codes bring up anything on the web! I'm lost. Supposed to be easy. But no info is coming up! Please help
I do not have an android to test and evaluate how that phone works this system, I use an Iphone and that is what I demonstrate in the videos, you will need to contact HF customer service for more info on the androids with this system, there nmber is on the HF website - thanks for subscribing!
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews thank you for the response, will take another look.
Mine works great from anywhere. The UPNP selection was different on my set up page. But that seems to be the sticking point.

Question would anyone know how to keep the login off from popping up on the computer??? I have to do it every so many hours.
there is a session timeout in the menus, check out this video for more information - the time out is not an inactivity time like you would expect, but an absolute session time limit - playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLv-qImKPSqyMeIHkFatD9YAxbzQ9Wph4W - thanks for subscribing!
Is this system able to be set up on an android phone using the same app for android phone???
I do not have an android, and there are dozens of models and manufactures, you should search your android appstore for the app to ensure it is available for your andriod, if you have the app, then it should work with the system - thanks for subscribing!
This is the system I am having the issues with an HDD error. I tried reformatting with no luck. Everything works as it should it’s just not recording anything anymore. TIA
you should replace the hdd, go to amazon and search for SATA 3.5 inch harddrive, pick at least 1 TB, the size determine length of recording you keep, video of replacing the harddrive - ruclips.net/video/DruAf4XKx_4/видео.html - thanks for subsccribing!
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews life saver. Thanks so much 🙏
AFTER I scan the bar code it comes up connect close ?
the two most common causes of connect close - 1: password either not matching or longer than 8 characters - 2: your ISP router not supporting uPNP, the fix fo this is to talk to your ISP have them open inbound ports listed in the network tab, this is commonly called port-mapping or NAT/PAT (network address translation/Port address translation) - assuming of course there is a network cable connecting the NVR to your ISP router and your phone is using wi-fi to connect to your ISP router - this will get the remote option working on local wi-fi before you turn off wi-fi to test real remote viewing over the internet - thanks for subscribing!
What does it mean when it says “connect close”. I can’t get it to work
make sure you have upnp turned on on the ISP router, or have your ISP open the ports listed in the network tab, if you have the 1080p system, make sure uPNP is turned on in the network config tab, it is auto on the 4K system - also make sure you are using an 8 character password, the app will not support a longer password - connect close means the software can not connect to the NVR - recommend you get it working with wifi turned on and connected to your local ISP router - thanks for subscribing!
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews I’m contacting them tomorrow
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews I’m still having trouble. In the network settings, should it be on DHCP? Is it a place in settings to put my WiFi credentials?
Mine just says connect close im so lost
please read thru the comments, I have answered this question in detail many times, summary - get working with phone wifi turned on, use password no more than 8 digits long, make sure you have an ethernet cable between NVR and ISP wifi router and try again - thanks for subscribing!

when trying to connect to my cobra wired system with iphone it keeps saying user name or password incorrect. Help !!
check the user name /password you are using and make sure the password is no more than 8 characters, that is the most likely cause - also make sure to get this working on your local wifi before trying remote - let me know how it goes - thanks for subscribing!
This is so frustrating I can’t get to work at sll
did you try to get it working with the wifi on your phone turned on? that will eliminate internet issues from the setup, make sure you have the nvr connected to your ISP router via an ethernet cable, a little more info will be required to help you troubleshoot - following the process in the video, what is happening on each step? - thanks for subscribing!
Hello, can this system be used without internet connection or wifi?
you setup the cameras and display them on the TV/Monitor just find, no wifi or ISP connection, you will lose the remove view option - the cameras are wired direct to the NVR, the NVR is wired direct to your ISP router, The NVR and cameras do not use wifi - so no ISP, no remote viewing, but you get local display - thanks for subscribing!

Why is it saying "Notice: Devise is exist!"
where are you seeing this message? on the display of the NVR or in setting?? is this a new system or have you had the system a while? I have not seen that exact message, but without more information, I would guess your harddrive might need replaced, the system should still work, just not be able to record video - please provide more information - thanks for subscribing!
This rxcamview app keeps stopping. I cannot get it to work
I'm not sure what stopping means, does it show you the camera and then it does not show you the camera? if it shows the cameras even once, you have the basic setup correct - the app will not stay connected to your NVR 24/7, it times out deliberately to save you data on your phone and the load of the NVR, but when you go back into the app after it times out, it should auto reconnect after a few seconds - check under devices, it it has a red mark, it means its not connected, if it does not connect ever, check your username and password and make sure your password is not more than 8 characters, you have to confirm its connecting and showing video to find where the problems is, make sure you get it working standing in front of the unit with your wifi turned on, before trying it remote - let me know if you ever see video on your phone, with the wifi turned on and we can troubleshoot from there - thanks for subscribing!
