This is such an emotional song, I salute you for doing it, it is an emotional draining knowing this is one of the last performances and the crowd loved this band so much they sang in English as they walked off the stage and they continue going. One of the most emotional moments you will ever see, and if you don't react to this then you are either dead or not human, simple as that. the last song performed by hide with x-japan was Forever Love at the Kouhaku Uta Gassen show, in NHK Hall, just after the Last Live concert. This was in the same day, and between NHK Hall and the Tokyo dome there are 11 kms x.x so they traveled in omnibus to that place.
Im happy to see the old grumpy man getting touched. X-Japan are one of the best bands ever. They never got very popular in the western world, maybe because of the language, I dont know. The one at the piano are Yoshiki, must be one of the best drummers ever. He drummed and bang his head so hard that he hurt his neck and had to play only piano for a year, wearing a necklace. Thats why Suzuka use the necklace in Headbanger. X-Japan are one of my favorite bands ever, and yes ,Im a old grumpy man, and yes, I have cried a couple of times hearing X-Japan. It should be a law saying that old grumpy men are allowed to cry when they listen to X-Japan. Now Im going to see your reaction to Kurenai. It better be good if not Im going to write something bad. :)
Lets just conclude that old grumpy men are not made of stones. Maybe I have turned into a softy, who knows, but this song still makes me cry a little. Leader's YOSHIKI broke up once because Toshi wanted to leave the band himself because of his a private matter. YOSHIKI said, as the reason, X JAPAN's music wouldn't exist without Toshi's voice. Very Very high tone voice. No one can imitate. According to a media report ,For a while, YOSHIKI even considered looking for a replacement vocalist for ToshI, but YOSHIKI gave up. YOSHIKI writes music and words of all songs, but he does not like singing. Actually, he never sang in front of fan. He didn't sing even if ToshI asked during the concert. After Toshi left the member of X JAPAN, It seems that Ryuichi Kawamura who was a member of LUNA SEA became a candidate for the vocalist. But YOSHIKI couldn't imagine the X JAPAN without Toshl's voice. When reunited, SUGIZO who was a member of LUNA SEA joined the X JAPAN as a guitarist after Hide died. Hide was the guitarist of the X JAPAN. The guitarist can be substituted, but the Toshl's voice cannot be substituted. That's why YOSHIKI decided to break up once. For reference, Toshl was a childhood friend of Yoshiki. They were classmates from kindergarten to high school. ※YOSHIKI was invited to the Emperor's 10th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony. YOSHIKI was asked to compose music for the piano for the emperor. I went to this live. When this song was played and everyone was singing a big chorus, I remember crying thinking, "Oh, it's over. I'm singing in a loud voice, so don't end it like this."
Surprised you react to this video. One of their most iconic song. I guess someone has told you BabyMetal producer Koba Metal is a huge fan. And BabyMetal's song "No Rain No Rainbow" is a homage to this song. I heard that Gene Simmons from Kiss once said that if this band know English (During 80s to 90s) they will be the biggest band in the world.

This was not a tribute to the missing member. That member was still there at the time. They were sad bc this was their last performance. They decided to break up because the singer went into a sect (got brainwashed). The guitarist died 5 months after this concert. The band reunited in 2007.
