I’m 50 already and X Japan’s one of my favorite band in my 90’s era!
My favorite band. I fell in love just from hearing the solo. The only Japanese solo from the top 10. I looked up the rest of the song and went back looking for MORE X Japan. Sad that hide died, but the band goes on. Now they have a great Guitarist AND great Violinist.

X Japan. The grandfather of visual kei. They are one of my favorite Japanese groups, for their raw emotion, and passion. There's really no other way to put it. These people wrote their feelings into their music.

A long time ago, there was a time when rock bands were supposed to be COOL not to appear on television.
However, YOSHIKI of the drum did a television appearance actively.
YOSHIKI understood the influence of television. And X JAPAN was recognized by many people and grew into a big band.
X Japan are possibly one of the most influential rock bands in Japan... They were probably one of the originators of the Visual Kei movement... I think they ran from the 80s to the late 90s or early 2000s, split up, then reformed around 2010... I might be a bit off, I can't be bothered to google it right now lol.
The band split up due to the lead vocalist being a bit fed up and also being brainwashed by a cult... While split up, the lead guitarist (the one in the crazy suit) supposedly killed himself, although it was possibly an accident while drunk... The old bassist for the group got to play with them again after they reformed, but then got arrested and killed himself in his cell (if I remember correctly)... The pianist here, also the drummer, main songwriter and group leader, had to deal with his dad committing suicide when he was a boy too... There's so much tragedy surrounding the band, yet they're still kinda going... There's a documentary called "We Are X" that covers a good chunk of their story.
There's so much to say about them... Like how the drummer busted up his neck headbanging lol He recently had neck surgery to help him be able to play drums again... Yoshiki (drummer, pianist etc.) alone has so much about him, let alone the whole band combined... Their early stuff is kinda heavy/speed metal, but later they tend towards more hard rock... But even if that's not your thing, I totally recommend at least learning about their story.

Sadly, everyone knows that this is the final concert. They don't want it to end like this.😢
In fact, it is unclear whether Hi-de committed suicide or not.
The police concluded the case that he committed suicide,
but relatives and close friends, including the members of X Japan believe it was an accident,
or even a prank gone horribly wrong, as Hi-de was drunk at the time it happened.
This concert in 1997 is still my favorite . The emotional makes gives me chills. Thanks for reacting. There are so many more emotional performances from X-Japan . You should check them out!!❤️
