- Year unknown but the wood species is certainly "ply" - in the body anyway. Despite its foibles it sounds and plays tip-top and the knock-off EMG pickups are producing 15+ohms. Knockout!
You should give guitar classes or music theory in your municipal school, I never get bored with the videos.
I think the Magic of Gibson models lays on the neck feel and headstock. Maybe The angled neck too, rythm hand position is very confortable. Once you got the right height on the bridge they got something on them you can't find in any other guitar.

Hi Gary, the guitar sounds great, but I can't say I'm keen on the look of it. Having said that I am the proud owner of a Satchel type tiger stripe job so what do I know? Back in my gigging days I was well into wearing my sparkly jackets so this guitar would have been a nice thing to have to chuck in the back of a transit van and not be too worried about it.

Hi Rod :-) Blimey mate, you've caught me right out there! For a variety of reasons, Satchel is my current favourite guitarist but I never had you down for Feelin' The Steel! Regarding Chibsons, there's so many scoundrels trying to move these on as the real thing it makes me sick and they're getting better at it. I suppose a bit like the Fuji Gen guitars that eventually became desirable in their own right. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Gary, most of the time I pick up my HB LP type guitar with P90s but I wanted something that would cut through the mix a bit with a humbucker at the bridge position. An online friend with a channel called "The Budget Guitar Show" reviewed the tiger stripe guitar and I thought it sounded great. A few weeks after it had been on his channel he offered it to me for just £40. For that kind of money he didn't have to ask me twice. The guitar is a bit of a "One Trick Pony" because it only has a single humbucker at the bridge like a Tom Delonge Strat, and not even a tone knob so they don't come anymore basic than that. It's a Fazley, the in house brand of Bax music. Fazley call it the "Hot Rod" so I had to have it! It plays well and I think sounds so much better than a forty quid guitar has a right too. I'll move it on when I get a proper LP in the autumn. Here's a link so you can hear it.

Maybe it could be a nice bit of wall art for you as a Satchel fan if you were interested.
Given that Slash did "Appetite" and other albums with a Gibson knock-off, I don't really have a problem with fakes. Other than the pegs (personal preference), it looks and sounds good. Not like people are going to come up on stage and inspect it while you're playing, unless that becomes a thing😏.

Slash's guitar was a copy but it was superior in every way to a Gibson.
Wow I can't believe it from the US you're playing is great and you didn't change a thing ?..... I just ordered one for 269 us can't wait to get it I can't see spending 10,000 on the real one or even 700 for the yellow one once again great guitar great playing you sold me
Hi Bill and thanks :-) I reckon this is quite an old Chibson and certainly the more recent ones I've seen have infinitely superior quality. If the one you've ordered plays well enough it may be worth spending a few extra dollars on some decent pickups. You'll most likely feel the benefit. Cheers, Gary :-)

Hiya Gary I know it has its flaws but for the money you can’t moan get new pickups and tuners maybe a bridge then you’ve got a great guitar funny thing is it really suits you hope you’re ok take care

Hi Gary, Thank you for this Review Mate. It is as you say, A Zakk Wylde Chibson Guitar.With their take on The EMG pickups. But it Does Sound and Play Very Nicely,Indeed. And for a Guitar that's Only in the £200 plus. It's a Great Guitar. With you having to spend Thousands of pounds! for It!

I buy and sell a lot of guitars as a hobby and I wouldnt touch a Chibson with a barge pole, not because they are crap, some of them can be very good especially with new appointments and a good set up, its mainly because they are difficult (technically its illegal) to sell or trade them.

You shouldn't pay anything for it.. Its a illegal fake. And people should be fined that trys and sells or buys them..

Personally, I would never intentionally import one from China but I thought it was interesting to look at the differences in construction and that the review may possibly help anyone that was being sold one of these as a genuine Gibson.
