Hi, In cover/chainstitch mode, you should use the ELx705 needles. Topstitch needles are great in overlock mode, but the stitch formation won't be correct in coverstitch mode. I love Spagetti 12-wt. thread and it's fantastic in the chain looper. You can even use 2 or 3 12-wt threads together in the chain looper with Thread Fusion. Here's a link to see Thread Fusion with a chainstitch: ruclips.net/video/C4XINmAP3mY/видео.html It will produce a chunky dimensional stitch that's gorgeous. When you use multiple threads together in the chain looper, you will have to lengthen the stitch and definitely stabilize your fabric. Without stabilizer, the fabric will probably pucker. 12-wt thread can be used in an ELx705 needle even though the eye is smaller. Just stitch more slowly in coverstitch mode to avoid thread breakage. Let me know if you have more questions, keep an eye out for Black Friday deals (gailpatrice.com) and thanks for watching!
