    I bought some Wonderfil thread! (spaghetti!) but I am having trouble with my cover stitch (I have a brand new Baby Lock Euphoria) it says it has to have an ELx705 - there isn't a "topstitch" needle.can I use an HA Schmetz topstitch needle?

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  25 дней назад

      Hi, In cover/chainstitch mode, you should use the ELx705 needles. Topstitch needles are great in overlock mode, but the stitch formation won't be correct in coverstitch mode. I love Spagetti 12-wt. thread and it's fantastic in the chain looper. You can even use 2 or 3 12-wt threads together in the chain looper with Thread Fusion.Here's a link to see Thread Fusion with a chainstitch: ruclips.net/video/C4XINmAP3mY/видео.html It will produce a chunky dimensional stitch that's gorgeous. When you use multiple threads together in the chain looper, you will have to lengthen the stitch and definitely stabilize your fabric. Without stabilizer, the fabric will probably pucker. 12-wt thread can be used in an ELx705 needle even though the eye is smaller. Just stitch more slowly in coverstitch mode to avoid thread breakage. Let me know if you have more questions, keep an eye out for Black Friday deals (gailpatrice.com) and thanks for watching!

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Cheryl, Most of the stitches can be created on a Triumph. Because you can't adjust tensions on the Triumph, the Twice as Nice Stitch isn't doable, but you have the beautiful Wave Stitch that shows both the upper and lower looper thread colors on the top side of your fabric. Hi Krystle, The BERNINA L890 is a combo overlock/coverstitch machine. It is computerized, will auto set tensions as well as allow you to tweak the settings for specialty stitches and threads. You can also save settings in the memory. And the maximum overlock stitch width is 9.0mm. The Triumph has a maximum stitch width of 7.5mm.
