YOU SAVE MY LIFE. Work on Desktop Asus too. Searching info for all the places, asking a lot of people, publicating It in forums ... Nobody got the solution, no one except you. My savior. I am from Spain, come here one day and let me invite you to drink something!
You save my day, I never saw this problem before on an Asus laptop, I was looking to set the controller mode to AHCI but was not able to find it anywhere and that was because does not show up with that name in the BIOS instead was the VMD setup menu, after I disabled it I was able to see the drive during the installation process, THANKS A LOT!!!
You sir are a legend. I suspected it had something to do with AHCI but couldn't figure it out. Abomination indeed! ASUS tech support was no help at all. I've spent *hours* trying to find the right combination of search criteria to find anything helpful...your video did the trick!
Man. Thanks for this! I was likewise trying to install Windows and, same as you, no drive was detected. I was like what the heck?!?!? So I decided it was likely due to the Sata Operation Mode, but couldn't find it anywhere. You saved me hours. Glad I found you video quickly.
This solved a my huge problem. I have invested more than 5 hours to find the solution of it and just found from your video. Thank you very much to uploading such video.
Thank you so much for this, words can't express how I was contemplating taking it to a pc repair place, buying a new drive, reinstalling windows. Much appreciated 🙏
Here another one whose life you've saved. In my case I was trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 on my Asus TUF Gaming F15. It came without OS so I though it was going eaaaaasy to install it but it wasn't detecting my hard drive so I could never keep going with the installation. And all tutorials where telling me to go to SATA options but anybody was telleing where it actually was. Thanks a lot man, totally helpful. ❤
Hey bro, I just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial, my ssd wasn't working and I thought my computer was fried, and i did this and it all finally started working, I went through two ssd's trying to get it to work, and all I had to do was tick a box :) I didn't expect that, but this helped a lot, thank you.
You are my hero, thank you so much! I tried to reset Windows on my Asus Zenbook and got a blue screen, so I had to format it with a USB, but when it wouldn’t let me install it on the drive, it was a nightmare! Until I found your video. Really, thank you so much, you saved me from the stress of taking it to a repair service
Thanks you 💚
Thank you so much! I spent hours trying to figure this out because of the missing drives issue when trying to do a clean install of Windows. You are a lifesaver!
Thank you, You're a life savior. I just got Asus Zenbook 14x and had the same issue with Samsung 970 Evo. I didn't disable VMD controller, I installed "Intel RST VMD driver v20 for Win10-11 x64" (latest) via that load driver button and it worked.
@@Nekoeye I just had to download a new version of windows, didn't even have to install the drivers. They weren't showing up, seems like to go to is to download original newest windows 10/11 and then crack the license key with a "harmful virus". Or just buy the license haha
@@MartinBuzon I used to do the same for over 15 years, but as you mentioned "harmful viruses," I eventually learned to purchase cheap licenses for peace of mind. I bought a W10 Pro license for $2/$3 and recently got a Windows 11 Pro license for my Asus laptop for around $5.5.
Abomination is a massive understatement! Thank you so much. It worked. I’m now installing Windows 10 on my new build PC. Crazy how simple of a fix it was.
Thank god you made this video. I really hope this solves, i had to reinstall windows 3 times already, download drivers by hand and load with a pendrive
Thank you man, this was so annoying, not using a laptop but the Z790-p motherboard, same issue, same solution, my hdd was changed to raid for some reason and I tried to change sata mode but was dumbfounded not finding one, thanks for helping me with the where-waldo scavenger hunt known as asus bios
Bro when I open my laptop. A blue screen appear for some second and after that everything work fine and when I open any browser it shows white screen for some second now what should I do to fix it Model asus x515
hello After windows installation, when I enable it system won't boot up. Do I need vmd on my Asus laptop or not, and if yes, how can I fix the booting [problem
I really need help, I have clean installed windows 11 on my Asus ROG strix g16 with VMD controller disabled, as I couldn't find the IRST driver supported for my laptop anywhere on the end-usb. And so I just went on and disabled vmd controller and my drive shows up again. I installed but I noticed when vmd controller being disable, launching games even from my main boot drive was slow, more likely running on a hdd, almost like a 2x slower experience. Also when I tried switching VMD controller to enabled after I saved and exit, I got a BSOD and I can still disable vmd controller and boot normally, but I'm really annoyed that I need to disable vmd controller in order to install windows 11 clean. I hope anyone can help a newcomer to the PC world. And give necessary steps needed to recover my laptop, I haven't had this laptop for 1 month and already broke the system. Cuz I was so clumsy I accidentally downloaded a malware which got wiped then corrupted my os. So I had to reinstall windows but I also made a mistake installing it,(also one thing is when I formatted and cleared my nvme drive. With VMD controller enabled, couldn't seem to find my drive, but when I disable vmd controller the main primary drive is visible on the windows installation setup, and I am currently trying to find a way to enable vmd controller back on if anyone here knows any steps on how to.
Hello !! How are you doing YES Comp ¡? I have an ASUS VivoBook Max, model: X441BA-CBA6A, I am upgrading the HDD to the SSD, the solid state drive is SATA 3, UP Gamer brand, normal 2.5", new in box, which is recognized in any other Notebook or any desktop PC. / When connecting to the Notebook X441BA, it does not recognize it in any way, I already changed the Secure Boot to: disable and also enabled the CSM to: enable, Date and Time: it's Correct to. Following the tutorials on your page but it still does not recognize , the version of the bios is the latest, version 308. It only recognizes normal mechanical hard drives but not solid state drives!! What else COULD I do, so that the motherboard recognizes the SSD? ... Grateful in advance ! … A cordial greeting to all !
I use Asus TUF 15 FX507ZE. Post disabling these two this stop working, Power Button LED & Caps Lock Indicator. The PC is working fine & if I enable it, Windows Blue screen of death appeared. Do you have any solution to this?
