So even comparing to 7700X, the total price is actually higher. Considering its TDP, it might be a necessity for a better cooling system too. Still a good buy though.

      Yes, I know it doesn't seem that substantial, but you could look at it as getting a guaranteed 50 to 100 free dollars over the next 3 or 4 or 5 years. Meaning that instead of that Intel CPU you could've ended up with an arguably much better Ryzen 7800X3D and still have some money saved.
      I just find it weird how people never take the cost of electricity into account when buying a new CPU, especially a budget one.
      And modern AMD processors are NOT hotter than Intel's. I'd like you to show me atleast one test where that was the case, because so far every single one I've seen in the last two years are either tied or with the exact opposite conclusion. If anything there are a lot of posts/articles about Intel chips running hot rn.

    • @m8x425
      @m8x425 9 месяцев назад

      yeah, it consumes more power if you're running a poor man's rendering farm. 15w while gaming is a drop in the bucket.
      Also, if someone is gaming 8 hours each day, they prob don't have a job and they're not paying the power bill to begin with.

    • @dominiorrr6510
      @dominiorrr6510 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@m8x425 Be it 15 more average watt usage, it's still gonna stack up over a period of time. When in the near future you're gonna think to yourself "damn, I could've paid those 30 dollars more for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and still have solid option for upgrade, without needing to spend nearly 300 pointless dollars for a new motherboard". Now, if you buy Ryzen 5 7600X for now, you have 100 + 300 = 400 dollars saved. If you invest those 400 dollars into a better GPU in the future, you're gonna end up with ~50 more FPS instead of those measly ~15 shown in the video. So for the long term AMD's options are just better.
      14600k is still a good option depending on how often you change PC parts, don't get me wrong, but for me personally AMD still has a solid edge over Intel with its 7800X3D option. The rest of the AMD CPU's are a bit slower, but it's obviously not surprising given they are over a whole year older. Even though they're slower, the possibility for a way cheaper upgrade in the future is just something most people should be taking into account.
      And saying stuff like "someone who plays games a lot probably doesn't have a job" is just a stupid point to make. It's a wide generalization and even assuming your argument was true, it would in no way change the fact that someone has to pay those extra bucks for electricity.

    There's no reason to lock RAM to the same speed. Get a super high binned kit that is validated for both, let the memory controllers on each processor get it as fast as it can go, and then compare. I think Intel might be able to run the same RAM faster.

      Imagine you have an am4 system with a Ryzen 1600 with 8 GB of ram and you want to upgrade, now you could buy a 5700x3d and new ram, and maybe a new cooler, with the risk of the power supply or the motherboard or the SSD failing, and with your GPU working on pcie 3.0, or you could sell it and buy a 7600 with a cheap motherboard and new ram, the cooler would be included, and once you activate pbo you'll have better performances than with the 5700x3d. It might be slightly more expensive even after the selling of your old pc but it's much more reliable and a bit faster.

    Thank you for the video. AMD is the best in terms "value-for-money". And 7600X shows that more than any other CPU. I can compare 13900K + 4080 GPU and 7600X + 4070ti GPU, which I´ve been using last months. That Intel setup needed much more cooling and the purchase (market) price was nearly double of the AMD setup. With 7600X, you can use some good air cooling, and save even more money. The difference in power is not that huge, especially while gaming. For now, I would consider 7600X and 7500F. I think that theese two are the best CPU for gaming, considering purchase price. If you compare high end CPUs, Intel is still the way to go. 14900 compared to 7950 offers much better single thread power and the price is very similar.

    is a higher percentage of Gpu utilisation better or worse?

    • @SuperGigZz
      @SuperGigZz 7 месяцев назад +7

      The higher GPU Utilisation is a good thing because it means that the CPU is able to provide a higher workload for the GPU.
      So most basically the whole package is faster. Generally in a gamingPC the GPU will be more utalized than the CPU and a really fast GPU can only bring its full potential using an adequate/suitable CPU.
      Whats really interesting in benchmarks like this is the way the package performs:
      In most cases as you can see here the CPUs are like between 20% and 70% usage and the GPU is far away from its limits, too.
      What you see here is that the CPU-Cores are not fully utilized not even the testet Hexacores (Yep, the 14600 has it's eight additional efficiancy-cores but they will most likely not be used for the workload of modern games anyway).
      So for example if a game only utilizes 2 out of 6 cores (Or 4/12 threads, whatever) it simply utilizes at most 33% of what the CPU is capable off.
      This is a total theoretic szenario because in reality you wouldn't use a RTX4090 @1080p and it will be 100% used @4k in most basically all modern games but it shows pretty good that a CPU no matter how much cores it has is only as capable as the software is able to utalize the amount of cores.
      But because of this in most games a hexcore is totally fine and will be for some more time.

      it depends. If you leave it on by default (all top brand like Asus, Lenovo, Acer, HP...), the temp expected should be 80°c to 92°c. If you switch to high performance mode (which i don't recommend), the temp goes a little bit higher, but you can lower it down by tune the fan speed to max (avoid doing this at night if you don't want to wake your parents up). Just remember to create a small gap between your laptop and the table to make sure your laptop air vent works properly.
