      They gave him the second penalty for a guard pull... It was the wrong call, because he shot first :)

      He wasn't on the legs for 3 secs before pulling guard, so he got the second negative. In the overtime he shot and was on the legs for enough time, so didn't get the negative then.

      @@33moneyball - Gordon Ryan isn't the best in the world. I'd put Buchecha and Galvao ahead of him. And there's plenty of people who are outsized but more accomplished than him. Galvao is a bit smaller but I think he'd win under ADCC and ibjjf rules.

    Miyao's guard pull seems so instinctual to him, like he can't help it. Also, being able to withstand submissions shouldn't be a strategy IMO...homie was limping hard.

      a passagem do paulo é sinistra pela flexibilidade e rapides que ele entra no KNEESLIDE( passagem de "meia" de joelho cruzado)
      até hj ninguém mostrou ser melhor q ele no no gi, fora o rafa Mendes, mas que passava o carro em todos mas pegava uma pedreira quando enfrentava o paulo myiao.

      @@rukia7693 it's the heart of the competitor. they are fully aware of the consequences and if they want the win that bad then they will go the extra mile. my very first jits tournament i went through to the finals. i was up 6-0 with 27 seconds left and caught in a sneaky armbar. wasn't able to wiggly my way out enough (i'm hyperflexible) and tapped with 1.6 seconds left. i was probably .8 seconds away from a bad injury. could of had the gold and a messed up elbow ... but i decided to live another day. i'm not made of world class material lol

At that level they should already understand the risks involved in certain positions and it should be their discretion if they willing to risk an injury or not. Maybe in lower level competitions, but these are world class competitors were talking about.

      I believe the first 2 were for controlling mount around 4:00, and the scoreboard didn't show it until later. Then he got a sweep later on for additional points.
