However point is a lot of Maori culture are moulded into what they have seen as children and become a product of their environment and the reason they cant break the chain because the parents put a lot of responsibilities on them because the parents haven't taken on the responsibilities or accountability themselves. The older generation are the key to a childs success. You wonder why my father moved us out of raureka. It wasn't safe , yes it was family orientated but .. if you weren't family to them you were picked on. In our case - My little sister was picked on for being pretty and being just her.. and because she was tiny she was easy to target for others - it's violent over there. If it wasn't for my father getting us out who knows if we would all still be alive. You had to be careful about a lot of things! I can't imagine bringing kids up there - I have a child now , hell to the no would that be okay there.. I met anahera and her whānau living there - we go way back.... The police need to do more! it's been over a year. Yes, she was found in the middle of no where but there must be something! Dismissing someone for animal remains is discussing police work! Bless the dogwalker who was drawn to the car just before it was off to the wreckers.

For cops to pass it off as animals remains like really? surely not! they have had to inspect closely and did forensic or something, I'm pretty sure human remains and animal remains look totally different, especially if there was a skull?!! This remains a horrific crime and beyond what any human being should be capable of. But some facts have been left out here and that isn't right - it clouds the truth. Firstly, this young victim was engaging with gangs and it's expected the inhumane things done to her were done by them. Secondly, her entire family and extended whanau are heavily involved in the gang culture and know what gangs are capable of...They know full well why, and who (is likely) responsible here. Ariki really had no business engaging with these people, but you could say the same about so many who do. I'm sure the whanau could have been more honest than they have been, but as so often happens in this "culture" this way of life, they clam up and won't tell the truth or engage with the police out of fear of "narking". Well, you can't have it both ways whanau.
