      Jokes aside, it takes a long way to be a master of Adeptal art, and what makes one have or not Adeptal affinity is still unclear. Conceptually, Cultivation goes against the will of the heavens, so the Gods used to throw exercises and obstacles upon cultivators to challenge their will they were called '''Trials'', that's what the purpose Taishan Mansion used to fulfill: the trial of Earth. it description quotes : '' Once, people who sought the path of the adepti had to pass the trials of heavens and earth. Taishan Mansion served as the trial of "earth." Now that the adepti have long departed from this realm, Taishan Mansion has also turned into a common treasure trove.''

    The current Honkai 3rd arc is set in a Chinese mythology based bubble universe of Mars where 7 godlike beings used 7 nails to pin down the bubble universe to prevent it from collapsing. And instead of being powered by Dreams and Wishes, the fundamental energy they use is Fear.
    7 characters who harnessed Fear in the most extreme ways to save their world, such as creating a lie so great that it replaced the perception of reality, turning Fear into the last hope of a dying world.
    Honkai 3rd and Genshin has been running story arcs that directly parallel and reflect each other in order to explore the exact same themes from different perspectives ever since Genshin first started. This arc actually parallels the latest Petrichor, Remurian world quest.
    Phobos, Fear is the main theme of this world quest. Fear is the equal and opposite of Dreams, both sides of the aspect of Hope, the main theme in all Hoyoverse games.
    To Dream is to Hope for something in the future. To Fear is to Hope that something doesn't happen in the future.
    Remus's Golden Dream was to create the greatest country in the world based on Justice, however the Dream became his greatest Fear as his people began to invade and attack other countries, becoming a great injustice.
    The Golden Song became Phobos, from a Golden Dream to Fear.
    But Dream and Fear is not about Good or Evil, they are just opposing forces. An evil tyrant can have Dreams of domination, and their greatest Fear would be to fail their quest at the hands of Justice.
    Remus's final song Phobos became the Hope for other civilisations as he himself destroyed Remuria with it, saving the rest of Fontaine from further destruction, the only way he could uphold his own Justice.
    If dreams are the source of power for Visions, then it very likely means that Fear is the source for Delusions. From the manga, Delusions are stated to be made from the remains of Demon God residue, concentrated final regrets and Fears of those Gods who had their Dreams broken and ended. Fears and regrets vs Dreams and wishes.
    Nails, needles, pins in both Genshin and Honkai represents the attempts of gods and humans at trying to control nature, the elements. Beings with sentience have to overcome nature in order to survive, and to survive you will need a strong will or Hope, either powered by Dreams or Fear. The human spirit allows us to fight against nature, humans and gods against dragons, but perhaps the best outcome is not for one side to triumph over the other, but to come to an agreement or balance; Like how Neuvillette has came to realise and understand.

    It’s interesting to me that Ei inadvertently learned how to put herself into her sword through Zhongli, considering that they’re both archons wary of “erosion”, it’s also interesting to me that Zhongli in his voice line about Ei says he too would like to learn about eternity, and that he himself didn’t try this technique or suggest it to any of his friends who have now passed which makes me think he already knew it wasn’t a viable solution, before Ei tried it, which to me means Zhongli has a lot more divine knowledge than our average archon. Watching this video reminded me of something I started looking at ages ago but never got around to finishing regarding the idea of Teyvat being "alive" with veins etc. - Ganyu has a voiceline that talks about how she can hear the heartbeat of the world when she lies on the grass, and her whole trailer is about how she seemingly has a prophetic dream after falling asleep on the grass. It's been a while since I've dug into it and I'm now kicking myself for not writing any of it down because I've forgotten most of the idea, but I remember having some thoughts about potential connections between the pulse of the world, hearts, ley lines/irminsul, fate, the adepti, azhdaha/memories, and Teyvat as some sort of living organism (I think mostly in regards to organs and an immune system?). I probably won't have time to go back through things for a while, but thought I'd just leave my incoherent ramblings here for now in case it sets something off for anybody else.

    • @cherryleafy101
      @cherryleafy101 7 месяцев назад +39

      You might be onto something honestly. Remember Elynas in Fontaine, how he was an abyssal sea creature that calcified and became an island after death? Breacher Primus (?) mobs are his immune system, so they attack people as "foreign bodies" like our own immune systems. There's a warren of caves and caverns all throughout Elynas, so you're basically walking through his blood vessels and other internal structures. There are caves all over Teyvat, which somewhat raises my suspicion. His blood could still be collected and has an abyssal connection, which makes me suspicious about the usual abyssal corruption we find throughout Teyvat (like in the chasm) since it seems to leak out everywhere rather frequently. The story of Elynas and how he became an island may be a precursor to a larger story/secret about Teyvat more widely.

      I think the reason for that is because Teyvat is supposed to function similarly to a computer, something that runs off code. What the ley lines say is true, is true, and what decides what the ley lines say, is Celestia- the coders. DNA is often compared to a code, and I think this is just an example of that comparison.

    I am no expert in Japanese but i am fluent in Chinese and when you said Shinkiro means clam breath tower i immediately thought of the chinese term "海市蜃楼" which is a phenomenon where the moisture in the air causes light to bend usually on large bodies of water creating mirages of huge buildings. And so i looked up 蜃気楼 (Shinkirō) and indeed it translates to chinese as 海市蜃楼.Im not sure how this relates to the video but i just wanted to point it out.

    • @rdpsysium7340
      @rdpsysium7340 7 месяцев назад +5

      Thank you for this! Mirages of huge buildings - Celestia comes to mind. After watching this video, I wouldn't be surprised if Celestia is mostly empty and it's just Heavenly Principles hanging out, the last maintenance worker for the machine powering the illusion. The loading screen is Celestia constantly in flux, clouds and pillars everywhere but no signs of life. Maybe the illusion is that Celestia never had any power to begin with, or that the beings that orchestrated it never really existed. But I do think you're absolutely on the nose. It could also relate to how the stars aren't real. Lots of different directions to take!
      My own tangent - (if you haven't finished the newest Fontaine story about Remuria, spoilers ahead)
      Phobos is a giant organ of desire taken to its logical (toxic) endpoint, right? A ship made out of a musical score. I kind of wonder if Celestia, empty as it is, once functioned as a musical instrument of sorts. Perhaps some of the pillars were like enormous organ pipes, or maybe 'strings' that could be plucked (like the harp version of the main theme) and reverberated, and that was the way that the gods' instructions were input onto Teyvat's leylines. I don't think it's an accident that there are TONS of music themed events (like the one right now!) Even the real life concerts they host, lol. I'll be surprised if Natlan doesn't have a music-related world quest. Writing this for me to come back to in a year to see how far I am from the mark, heh.

  • @Chaffee738
    @Chaffee738 7 месяцев назад +101

    I've been believing ever since 3.6 released and Apep told us her story that none of the "Celestia punished a civilization by dropping a Celestial Nail because the humans questioned the heavens, sought to rebel, found out a secret, etc" are all correct and the Celestial Nails are dropped in response to an influx of Forbidden Knowledge ONLY. Those destroyed civilizations didn't know the full reason why they got a Nail hurled at them. I also theorized that the launching of the Celestial Nails was an automated defense system that Celestia no longer has control over.
    After watching this video, I'm wondering if the launching of Celestial Nails aren't even some sort of a mechanism built by someone but a 100% natural cause and effect to the Ley Lines getting disrupted specifically by Forbidden Knowledge. I know the whole video was about how the Heavenly Laws move the world and not the other way round, but Forbidden Knowledge is weird and maybe it has the power to defy common sense logic and shake the reflection to cause the real thing to shake. Or if we use the roots and branches of Irminsul analogy, corrupting the roots can cause the corresponding branches to go weird and cause things to fall apart and drop.
    The more Celestia is made out to be this ultimate evil mastermind, the more I wonder if there's nobody up there and never has been. Well yeah we literally meet the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles at the very beginning of the game so I don't mean that nobody literally, but I do wonder how powerful and controlling she and Celestia in general really are. I do enjoy the trope that what seemed magical or even divine turn out to be 100% mundane and explanable with existing laws of the world.

    • @cherryleafy101
      @cherryleafy101 7 месяцев назад +31

      I've been wondering for a while if it's sort of cosmic computer program up there. Irminsul, the leylines, and even forbidden knowledge operate like a computer system or, in the case of forbidden knowledge, like a computer virus. So I wonder if once we get up to Celestia we'll encounter Genshin's equivalent of a god-computer, rather than anything remotely human. I wonder how much, if anything, of the larger workings of Teyvat is dictated by a human-like creature at all, or if it's all just the workings of a huge program.

Or, they could let it run just like the PO wanted, which wouldn't affect the civilization, then again whats the point of taking the authority, celestia is currently running it fine to sustain humanity.
    Reminds me of the statement from K.K. "The world shall burn no more for you shall ascend", what's the point of getting the pearl, unless traveler wants to destroy the humanity itself, which is weird to think about.

    Another theory that is exceptional! The point about Genshin being based on Xianxia is mostly true, cuz we see creatures like the Qiling, Zhongli's rex lapis title in chinese is Dijun (supreme Emperor or the most powerful diety; not to be confused with Tian Di which is the Heavenly Emperor, ruler of the Heavens). We also have the usual Three realms - Heavens (Celestia), Mortal realm (Teyvat) and the Devil realm (Abyss). We also have the concept of how you can obtain visions by either having a strong will or doing meritorious deeds and getting a vision, similar to how dao cultivators or mortal heroes can become deities in heavens by either cultivating or doing something really heroic like saving a nation by ultimate sacrifice/people believing in said heroes can also prove to let them ascend to heavens given they have cultivated the dao.
    The point on acupuncture was a nice one, and it also connects into xianxia a bit - heavens cannot directly decsend and help mortals, but can guard mortals against external threats (devils/evil demons in most cases). So here the point of the divine nails being used to instruct the leylines by Celestia can also be seen as safeguarding against corruption or forbidden knowledge or the Abyss.
    On the Abyss matter being the same as the devil/demon realm in xianxia - demons aint always born bad or evil, even demons can become deities. What I meant by demon/devil realm is mostly an existence like devils/ghosts/etc, and no, not one but more, that are evil and cruel. You can see some xianxia novels having heaven, Mortal and ghost realm, other heaven, Mortal and demon realm. It depends on the writer. Xianxia typically has 6 realms - demons, devils, ghosts, spirits, humans and immortals. In most cases, demon/devils realm competes with the heaven realm on who to hold the power to rule the world. In typical xianxia nowadays tho, the Heavenly realm is portrayed as the one in the wrong and the demon one as the one to keep em in check/ try and wake heavens up if you will (not saying Genshin will defo follow that path). Also, as the Heavenly realm, the demon realm also has a ruler that can or cannot obey the Heavenly Emperor depending on the writer's setting (all realms in harmony or heaven vs demons/devils). And if the second, the one getting the most harm is always the mortal realm as fights in the heavens bring about natural disasters upon the mortal realm, more or less.
    I'd take the adepti and the seven as deities, with the seven being Earth Immortals (not ascended to Heavens yet, but still powerful to be considered gods), whereas the adepti being Ghost immortals (cannot ascend to Heavens, because they cultivated too much Yin and are bound to Earth/Underworld), or even creatures of the spirit realm, still directly answering to Rex lapis (DiJun). Khanri'ahns would be the demon realm, where cuz of the human nature, they fell into the bad path, not properly following the dao, hence why they ended up cursed. The Abyssal Twin would be the current demon Emperror/Empress. As for the fatui, I'd guess they are an existence on its own, similar to Demon cultivators, using orthodox methods to achieve immortality instead of following the proper dao. For example on this, a cultivator that stumbles on a cultivation stage they cannot overcome, can use orthodox methods to bypass said stage. For example - consuming demon neidans (demon core, sorce of power and what allows them to cultivate and follow the dao), which can give them internal power (Qi) to break the stage and advance to the next one. It is seen as a taboo to harm and consume another being in order for a cultivator to advance in cultivatons, hence why they are called demon cultivators. For the fatui being similar to these demon cultivators - think il dottore experimenting on the children belonging to the House of the Heart, even Arleccino. I'd guess the 1st three seats having "power that rivals the heavens" has everything to do with orthodox practices in achieving said power. Just a thought tho, might be wrong.

    Based on the ending chat; I think this finally explains why Inazuma felt off to me, and it's because I didn't understand how it was similar to the other nations yet.
    See, Barbatos values freedom so he was the first to hand over control of his people's fate, TO his people, although he wakes up every now and again to set them on the right path when they're, y'know, partaking in slavery, and feasting on the work of the poor.
    Next we go to Liyue, and we watch as Zhongli bequeaths Liyue with it's own fate as well, in the only way a "Warrior god" would, he wants to make sure they can fend off any threat, so he revives his hated nemesis, and watches as Humanity and the Adepti quell his nemesis once again.
    Following we go to Inazuma, under the iron rule of the Raiden Shogun, and through our actions open Ei's eyes to how the world has changed, and how WONDERFUL that is, and how nothing can last forever, except change, as change is truly "Eternal". Now we understand her second quest more, as we realize, Ei had gone back in time to plant the Sakura, giving will back to the people AGAIN. Though they still live under the Raiden Shogun, they have their own lives, and have progressed their own way.
    Next we help the people of sumeru free themselves from the control of the Akasha, then we free the people of Fontaine of their cursed prophecy, bequeethed upon them by Celestia..
    In typing this out, I've realized what's going on.
    The Gnosis ARE the will of a Decender! Celestia, and the Archons, have been using them to collectively run the loom of fate, or were at some point, but at some point they became mere mcguffins, they don't WORK anymore, the Pearl is missing and THUSLY the LOOM OF FATE is just a FREAKING CHEKOV'S GUN.
    I've been attributing the Fatui for a while now to be mostly benign, sometimes amoral, but mostly they are "looking out for people" ESSPECIALLY as Arlecchino has reminded us. She may be a murderer, but she DOES care, as much as she claims to be a "cold, unfeeling father".
    But now the Fatui just SKYROCKET in threat level, excuse me, the fatui are gathering the keys for the loom of fate, and the only thing they're missing once they get the Pyro Gnosis (which lets face it, they will) is the Dragon Pearl?
    I don't care how good people the Fatui can be, Childe a loving family man, Scaramouche a caring puppet who wanted to be loved, Arlecchino a loving, I mean "cold, unfeeling father, baka".
    There's NO hands that this kind of power is safe in. Unless their plan is to gather up the "keys" and destroy them.... Is that where the abyss sibling comes in? They already have the pearl, are they going to swoop in, grab the gnosis, and suddenly have the ENTIRE Loom of Fate?! This might explain why after Snezhnaya we're going to a supposedly dead country in Khenriyah.

    32:00 - Now this has me thinking of a "Twin Vision Barer" character concept, like Makoto and Ei but on a smaller scale and don't have opposing ideals.
    So let's say there's a pair of Identical Twins, and they have such a tight bond that when their dreams manifest a Vision only one is given... But because of just how close/similar they are in every facet of their existence, they can both wield the same one Vision, maybe allowing higher elemental energy output than the average solo Vision Barer or some form of dual casting attacks/abilities.
    OR (and I just thought of this as I was about to post it) they each get their own Vision and they are of different elements, but their bond/dream is still so close that both can actually wield each other's Visions! Then instead of taking up the same character slot they are two separate characters that when in the same team have unique combos/bursts or element changes of sorts.

    The Riddle literally starts with "As Above, So Below", which is the start of a phrase attributed to Hermes Trismagistus, and portrays a similar idea; that the microcosm/earth reflects the macrocosm/the heavens.
    I find this interesting because Teyvat has its own version of Alchemy, that being Khemia, which uses the same alchemical steps of enlightenment/creation of the philosopher's stone however switches the last two steps. Whereas our Earth's Alchemical process ends in Red, Teyvat's Khemia ends with Gold; a reflection of the different end goals of Alchemy and Khemia, one seeking Immortality/Enlightenment and one seeking either Creation or Cleansing (I'm really not sure which as Khemia references Creation quite a bit however the idea of turning Lead into Gold from our Earth indicates removal of flaws/impurities, refinement I suppose).
    I do wonder if this distorted mirroring of our own Alchemy is a hint to something related to Celestia or maybe the Abyss; like maybe the riddle and its answer and the steps to Khemia (that directly led to the creation of Albedo) indicates that the people of Teyvat are a reflection of Celestia/Abyss or whatever lies beyond the firmament; just not a "perfect" mirror image.
    The fact that the riddle directly starts with As Above, So Below *cannot* be a coincidence tho. Hoyo has been very specific with its references up to this point so that phrasing has to be intentional, I could ponder this all day.

    The Prime of Adepti never beating the betrayer allegations huh ? 😂🤦‍♂
    Jokes aside, this makes me even more excited for his meeting with Neuvillette.
    I am so happy somebody noticed the implications around the usage of Adeptal energy FINALLY. Now i think there might be something to tie the Adeptal affinity to the power of the will..
    The Adepti had always been quiet the peculiar bench, and aspects of Adeptal power and elemental power had been distinct since forever, but thanks to Chenyu Vale, we had the chance to see this distinction in action. That is also a reminder of what Madam Ping said about Rex Lapis moving mountains and seas upon his descension.
    It takes a long way to be a master of Adeptal art, and what makes one have or not Adeptal affinity is still unclear. Taishan Mansion served as the trial of "earth." Now that the Adepti have long departed from this realm, Taishan Mansion has also turned into a common treasure trove.'' For some undisclosed reason, the place was abandoned "Here stood Taishan Mansion, established by royal decree. ...But the Geo Lord wished for his residence to remain among the people of Liyue, hence, all trace of the path to that divine place was lost in the mortal realm.''
    But I digress.
    In her story quest Xianyun had to work instead of Zhongli with some antique shop... Xianyun looked upon the haggard-looking book-collector for a moment, before replying: "It is said that in ancient times, people who sought the path of the adepti had to pass the trials of heaven and earth, and only then might they be granted the opportunity to prove their true intentions. The tortuous path to becoming an Adeptus was no less painful than the agonies of mortal life."
    But she also told him : _ *"And as for adeptal affinity... I wouldn't lose hope quite yet either. You have plenty of time ahead of you, so stay vital and look to the future."* _
    As per the relationship Adeptal power has over nature, another example is in Cloud Retainer's sacred name and her voice lines: ''In this era of fair winds and gentle rains, one needs not marshal the winds to deliver the rainclouds.''
    When it comes to Sigils, it had been directly mentioned by Cloud retainer that they were imbued with ''Rex Lpais's divine power'', more on that is explained in Mist Veiled Mercury Elixir : _in With Fulu (Sigils), the Adepti can store their power in the form of symbols, and with Waijing (Sub-Space Creation) they can fashion a cosmic paradise with the power of their minds. The manufacture of elixirs, however, has always been shrouded in mystery, for certain death follows for any who swallow them._
    On the Honorable mention to Elexirs, The Gold Core 金丹 jīndān (result of the condensation of the Qi or the Cultivation Base 修为 within the 丹田 dāntián) is translated as the "Golden Elixir" in scholarly articles on Chinese internal alchemy. It is somewhat analogous to the *Philosopher's Stone* of Western alchemy, although there are many differences between the two.
    But you know, *I will have order* may have lost some of it's meaning, and yet it's not totally without a context. In the Mist Veiled Primo Elixir description, there is the following: _''An elixir of the highest quality. It embodies a state of intertwining order and chaos, and is said to mirror how the world was when it was first created. Of course, a certain someone knows that this was not the case.''_ That's certainly a pun to the fact that PO didn't create the world, at least not in its elemental aspect, just brought their power of ''order'' to shape it.
    That makes Zhongli and his Adepti look like a task force, especially in the context of what Neuvillette said about the Usurper losing its ability and absolute authority to subdue the loathing of the world after the War of Vengeance... (how convenient that is to the different markers that set him to have descended over that period too.)
    *Edit :* If you pass by this comment help me brainstorm this idea : How not all ''light'' is the same...In Enkanomiya Dainichi Mikoshi was created by Abrax following the procedure thought to him in his dream by Istharoth, it was used to chase out the Vishaps away from the Human settlements.... Vishpas being LIGHT REALM creatures, why were they chased by ''Light''.

Sure you could make the argument that they were descended from Oceanids but they still choose to live as humans. So, while not all of the Dragons might feel the same way, if you were able to somehow 'rescue' Nibelung and return his Authority, he too like Neuvillette, might choose to maintain the current world to keep people safe. Because if all the other dragons follow his lead, he's the only one you need to convince.

    23:01 The memories and wishes of the people who visited a land with a loom and core system in the past, which are then used to create copies of people with a fixed destiny within that world. Lumine is one of those copies, and therefore originated from Teyvat, which is why she is not a descender. What is her wish? To make Teyvat hospitable to people (since under the dragon's rule it isn't 30:47) without it being under Celestia's control (possibly because Celestia has a history of nuking civilizations). According to this video, this means two things. First, bring back Nibelung's genesis pearl from the abyss, and secondly overtake Celestia, or "topple the divine thrones of Celestia". 29:05 Lumine is on this journey, and became the character in the Battle Pass story who set out into the abyss to obtain the pearl, but then became the Queen of the abyss (abyss mages referring to her as highness) either because she was tricked, as suggested in the Battle Pass, or because she realized the true nature of this world, and had her own goals in mind. The other component required to control a world with these mechanisms as suggested by the Veluriyam Mirage event is something to control the pearl, or a loom. This is why the abyss is trying to create a Loom of Fate, so that with it, along with the Genesis Pearl, they can rewrite the rules of Teyvat to make it both hospitable for humans, and free from Celestia's tyranny. Thus, your abyss sibling, who already traveled through this world and whose wishes and memories made a copy that originated from Teyvat, was created with the fate to challenge Celestia by getting the Genesis pearl or Nibelung's pearl from the abyss.

If The Hydro Dragon died, is it gonna be tsunami? Pyro Dragon creates a massive yellowstone-scale magma eruption? Or maybe the deceased pyro sovereign creates Mare Jivari.
    Edit : If the Condesence Crystal can grow in Natlan (per 5.0) and not exclusive to Elynas, I think Elynas is Hydro Dragon Sovereign who somehow appear 500 years ago and got killed and thus reincarnate in the form of Neuvillete; that explains why Neuvillete has such a great affinity with all the Melusines.

    So if the constellations are the vision wielders' destiny. Does that mean a vision wielder that completes their task becomes a leyline? Is that what Celestia gets in return? The string to run their machine and keep teyvat operating is vision wielders...? Thats just one part of a theory I've been thinking about for a long time.
    Also that visions are a short cut and a quality control mechanism of sorts to make sure the "thread" is the right type. Which means the wrong type of "thread" would jam the spinning wheel of fate. So Celestia has to make sure they have the right material to make into threads to keep the machine running thus justifying all of their actions in their own eyes.

I concluded from several things that Purple might signify abyssal power, and Red might signify corruption of some sort.

    I finished Fujin's quest yesterday, lucky me just in time for your new video
    now this might be quite crazy, but while watching it, I couldn't help but remember your Zhongli is a prince lore video, plus now knowing that adeptal powers are similar to "chi", which is similar to "will", both bending the rules like "divine power"... then is it possible that Zhongli as well as the other adepti were from the old world, living in the original natural order? or related to the descendants of the old world somehow?
    we know he's not a dragon in the same sense Neuvillette/Apep are, but I think with Fujin's quest, there's even more reason to consider that all adepti are o were related to an animal/creature (nowadays both animals and humans can become adepti) and so at that time they might've been closely related to the nature of the world, because if the world from before the Primordial One was not suitable for human life (from what Lingyuan told us it was a better ecosystem for them to cultivate that power) then perhaps they were part of that natural order
    then Zhongli being a prince or held in high regard at that time does make sense, because he somehow gained the knowledge of how to bend divine power, to the point of teaching it to others, maybe even their human form is part of it, sadly it doesn't answer the question if he was a creature or animal as well, or something else? lmao, but it's super interesting

    "As above, so below, and as at the bottom, so too, the top. Yet only top to bottom may be, and never bottom to top?"
    "As the Heavens, so the Earth (Teyvat), and as the Earth, so too, the Heavens. Yet only Heavens to Earth may be, and never Earth to Heavens?"?
    "Top", the Heavens and "Bottom", the Earth, reflect eachother, work in same/opposite ways, what exists here has a counterpart there, or perhaps exists as it is (with its physical state, maybe) but with an opposing nature. Only the Heavens may influence/affect the Earth and never the other way around. Only changes to/tampering with the Heavens can change the Earth, and perhaps it is the only way to do so too..
    my best take at attempting to (possibly) decipher this thing, thanks for reading all my nonsense lol

    this really makes me think they teyvat may just be like a giant program or computer
    the different fates (spirit stones) being connected by threads reminded me a bit of computers and wires in general [specifically remembering the scene from wreck it ralph with all the threada connecting the characters in the game]
    perhaps descenders are teyvat's "viruses" that the master of the program have no ability to influence, and so they can come into teyvat and directly influence the world against what the master had originally programmed.
    this also makes me think of irminsul, and how it basically acts as the world's database or like files.
    i think it would definitely be out of left field if hoyo ended up taking the sci-fi route for this story, but it just makes a lot of sense to me

  • @Truck-kun11
    @Truck-kun11 7 месяцев назад +14

    I don't think the Primordial One created a machine to manipulate Fate....In the beginning.
    I think that after acquiring the Authority of the Dragon King he used it himself just as the Archons use the authorities of the Elemental Dragons and thus kept Teyvat under control.
    However, we know that after the war with the Second Who Came, the Primordial One lost much of its capabilities and was no longer able to keep the will and resentment of the world in control and that is why he created the Celestial Thrones and the Gnosis.
    The Gnosis would then function as seals or regulators helping to ease the burden of the Dragon King's Authority while the Thrones keep the Elemental Authorities in check.
    And him distributing the Gnosis makes sense if you remember what Skirk said about how the Gnosis are cursed and attract calamity.

    • @tomhsia4354

      The "leylines" or "spirit veins" are literally called "ground veins" in Chinese (地脉). I guess elemental energy is the "chi (气)" of Teyvat, which flows along the leylines alongside the memory of the world. Acupuncture is used to restore balance to Chi, like the way the Celestial Nails are used to restore order to the world.
      Teyvat does work like a living being. Maybe the entire continent of Teyvat is like Elynas and Durin, it's currently inanimate but not quite dead. Forbidden knowledge could be tied to the original consciousness of Teyvat, said consciousness may have currupting powers due to it being insane, incomplete (probably was not completely purged), or both.
      This also ties with the Chinese legend of Pangu, a primordial being who emerged from an egg, seperated the heavens and earth upon his birth, and became the geographic features. The entirity of Genshin's Primordial One seems heavily inspired by the story of Pangu, so give it a read on wikipedia.
      My hot take is that the continent of Teyvat is the "corpse" of the Primoridal One. The PO is not dead, but like Elynas and Durin, is severely weakened in their "dead" state. This is why the Primoridal One needs the shades and the Sustainer to maintain order. The Heavenly Principles is merely the system of governance Phanes left behind, and it's slowly breaking down over the years due to a combination of erosion and the entities tasked with maintaining it dying off. The cycles os destruction are probably ot ensure Pangu's body stays dead, as well as to limit the possibility of people discovering forbidden knowledge. Maybe the PO's body with the dragons was so devestating it literally shattered the world, so PO had to use his body to recreate the world.

    • @amouramarie

      If Susty is not actually on Celestia's side, it could explain why she doesn't seem to like humans. Talking about the arrogation of mankind, like we are shouldering in on a place where we have no right to be. If she was originally some kind of ruler of the dragon-ruled Teyvat, that might also explain why she looks like she's corrupted - like the red is infecting her, trying to overtake her white and gold color scheme.
      And the conflict between red and gold also calls to mind alchemy, and the debate over which is the true ultimate goal: red or gold? Red would be Celestia, and the old researchers in Fontaine recognized that as the ultimate power, since it is, while Celestia is in control. But Khaenri'ah recognized gold as the ultimate goal - the color of the dragon kingdom, and the original order of the world. Which would also tie into some theories I've seen that connect the pure-blooded Khaenri'ahns to dragons.

    Great video!!! I think to expand on everything mentioned re "loom of fate"I think it is pertinent to mention that weaving patterns are the basis for our current binary programing code. In a weave a yarn is on top of underneath, 1 or 0, and weaving complex Jacquard fabrics (which create intricate designs by having various threads on top) required "programs" of 1 and 0. I think it is super relevant to mention that the original creators of these programs where the Islamic Caliphs which Sumeru is based on.... And suddenly Nahida's computer like interaction with irminsul and Dendro is making a lot of sense.

    I have a theory that Zhongli is or was a Sun - or rather, one of shining shades of Phanes, created likely when they obtained the Genesis Pearl. And his purpose was contact with primordial Adepti, that were kinda different from the current ones if I remember correctly. Probably to learn how to operate the spirit lines more accurately without breaking the whole world apart. So when Zhongli was taught by these primordial Adepti, he created a set of rules or affected the ley lines to create new species of Adepti - as he is also known as an original Adepti of current standard. He taught them the way Celestia needs to operate with divine lines as they are one of the only ones who can do that without any pearl or source of power, their original kind predating the dragons as a whole. Maybe that was for the case when the Genesis Pearl would be lost, like a plan B. And when he did what should be done just like Shade of Life did - create a replacement for Hydro Sovereign - after the war he got to live somewhat peacefully with his Adepti, one of Sovereigns, other gods and humans as Geo Archon. At least not on a divine scale anymore. Man isn't he the successful one.

      In Chinese the "leylines" are literally the "ground veins" (地脉). It makes sense that the God of Geo would have more mastery over the leylines.

  • @davidjohnson8273
    @davidjohnson8273 7 месяцев назад

    So if you measure where the leylines actually flow on the map you notice that the y just don't exist in the areas around the Nails or where the Nails are hypothesized to be. That is to say you never see the blue or gold Blossoms in Dragonspire, the Chasm, Tsurumi island (all the other islands yes; that one no) or the middle of the desert. Similarly you don't see the blue crystals created by the leyline flow in those regions. If anyone's interested there's a bunch of maps on the topic of how the flow goes and it can be used to predict where the mining outcrops will be. Bottom line the leylines flow in a circuit within each nation.
