If I had a dime for every clear plastic piece I cracked or broke!!!….another great review Jon. Older Eduard kits can be quite frustrating, even some of the new ones can be over engineered in certain steps. Thanks!

Thank you! The Eduard kits are hit or miss for me. Their Spitfires are brilliant, the 109Es not so much. Cheers!

Very nice result. Nice subtle work on the mottling.
Good interior as well. It's not often you get that much of a view of a cockpit interior on such a small aircraft.
Construction techniques developed and used on bf109 series.
I have the Weekend Edition in the stash as it came all light grey with Japanese markings. 15 were sold to the IJA for transport/liaison duties.
Checked my canopy and it looks ok! The crack looks like natural wear and tear on rough, African airstrips. Their canopies were a kind of plastic too.
My Dad said they used to polish the Plexiglas on his HP Halifax with toothpaste.
    Cheers Matt🦘🦘🦘

Thanks, Matt! Hopefully, yours won't be difficult to fit to the kit. I didn't see the warped canopy being an issue for other modelers.
I'm not surprised by the toothpaste trick. It is still used to polish out plastic headlight covers. Cheers!

Wish Eduard would do more of these obscure subjects instead of the usual Me-Spit-stang stuff. It's easier to forgive their complexity when it's on something you can't get anywhere else.

I guess it's just a business thing. Spitfires, Mustangs, and 109s sell. The earlier (obscure) Eduard kits were much less complex than the 109s and 190s, thankfully. Cheers!

As always the finished camo is excellent, desert camo my favorite cockpit great. Two thoughts on the 108 - Hollywood in the 60's loved them as they used them as fighters in Von Ryan's Express, and Great Escape 633 Square to name a few . However I digress "Technically" the modeling world gets the nomenclature BF incorrect over " Me". The first prototypes ( 109) were made by the " Bavarian Airplane Works", abbreviated BF in German actually using a Rolls Royce engine . Once in service, the designer Willy Messerschmitt insisted it be called ME. So from Spanish Revolution forward, ME was the proper prefix, I guess model manufactuers are trying to be politically not historically correct. This comment certainly is not meant to overshadow your skill in bringing this model alive.

Thanks for the history lesson! I have wondered about this and have heard the 109s referred to as Bf and Me. In the reviews, I try to stick with what's on the box to avoid confusion. But it is frustrating at times. Cheers!

Hello Jon, what a good video, it is a model that should be alongside its older brothers, the bf 109, in addition to the possibility of seeing the cabin through the glass, it gives it a touch that few airplanes can give, the details that you have worked on Internally, as I had said previously, I like detailing and improving a cabin as much as possible and here I have a good question, which is better, paint, use PE or 3D decals? Where can you feel most satisfied with the achievement of your work? Right now our Hobby doesn't offer many possibilities, detailed in some cases to perfection, but how fun is it to just paste 3D or PE decals without resorting to painting dials or creating levers or controls? hahahaha well there's our choice.
This model is excellent, very nice details and the chosen scheme is very visually attractive, the decals are perfect, I have not seen another model of this particular model to compare with, it is not easy to obtain either, but given the opportunity you have to take it, thank you for the time and dedication, greetings

Thanks, Francisco! As a modeler, I think I should be able to use multiple techniques to achieve a similar result. I don't rely on decals or the PE parts, but I am comfortable using them. I will even modify the PE to get the results I want. I don't think there's a wrong way to go here as long as the modeler is happy with the results. Just my opinion. It does sound like another good idea for a video. Cheers!
