There was a brilliant but very junior guy at the Dandenong plant who made sure the build went well. He picked up the usages of all the unique parts that went into it. Dandenong built the cars up to the stage where the guards needed to be fitted. HDT special Vehicles did that & a few other go fast bits like wheels from memory. I remember Brock & Harvey bringing the first completed car to Dandenong . Harvey was a whizz at building these cars. Some engines had modified inlet manifolds directly out of the engine plant. I can’t remember whether they had the L34 block.
This was Brock's/HDT first venture into production enhanced cars from the dealers. He made a mistake basing these cars on the SLE, as these were much heavier than the base model, and so when he took them racing he had to carry lead balast to make up the weight. A Ch7 commentator had a go at Brock when these first come out as he got a bad start off the line at Oran Park and Brock's reply was he was busy fiddling with the air conditioner and 4 speaker stereo. Brock realised his mistake in the VH HDTs and everything was an option, a much lighter beast for racing. The SLE based VC were great for the street market, as you had a performance luxury car !!!
in one round CAMS enforced fitment of the air conditioning compressor to the cars, so Brock strapped his to the roll cage and floor. After that, CAMS gave up on it and just insisted that the VCs were up to minimum weight
What a classic uniquely Brock car big flares stunning rear spoiler wheels that never look out of date most luxurious interior of its time love this model lucky who ever can afford it now.

John, didn’t you tap Charlie O’Brien out of the way to move up to 2nd in the Race of Champions 1980 😉
That'd be an average of just over 3,000km a year driven, Credit to the original owners for using it for what it was built for - driving
Yep this car was loved.
Shouldn’t have the factory door moulds on it and also not original carpet or door trims they have been re done
Do you know this for sure? John would know
Why
