As a young fella I owned a Xb gs panel van in Nz back in 1985-89 same colour with 351. Always keeped a eye out as i got older for 1 I live in Oz now and 40 years later i am the proud owner of this machine. Not a Xb but loving my Xc and driving a piece of Aussie muscle car history 👍
Having started with a well-used 1959 FC station wagon in 1972, the rust from the sea air, when surfing down Torquay way, meant I needed a new set of wheel to strap my boards to. So after 3 years of work I could afford to buy a new van for about $5,000, cash, from Big Apple Motors in Footscray. It was an Orange XB Panel Van , 4 on the floor, bucket seats, with a 4.1 litre engine. Just in time to realise my surfing days were coming to an end (girls, of course!) and 2 years on and then married (as you did in those days - 23) I moved it on for $1,500 trade-in on a Mazda 626. And the moral of this story? The worst words in the English language "If only..." (I'd kept the XB for a bit longer).
I'm going to guess that is not a genuine "GS" as it only has some rally pack options and is missing the obvious ones such as hood pins and bumper over riders. All the same it's a nice example and I'd love to have it parked next to my XC GS rally pack ute (same colour). My one is coded JG41SSxxxxxx. Rolled off the line 302 and 4 speed single rail. Currently has a broken 351 and plenty of cancer. Have not started resto yet.

I remember as kids all piled in the back.
Put in a bid John. Awesome Van.
DID JOHN BUY IT ?
How cool
Just a shame it’s got barn doors
Needs tailgate and top
That's not a shame.
See the white RX7
would have been better having sundowner doors on the back
Vibrant Orange? Isn't it the same as modern Octane Orange? 🤔
351, FMX, 9 inch
Not a pleasant man to deal with, I hope that Grays didn't pay him for this because he actually knew F**k All about this vehicle.
Example of what?

An original XC GS PV would be a very rare thing & expensive. This would be cheaper.
John, with respect....get rid of those stupid leather charm bracelets on your wrist; they look ridiculous.
I'm sorry mate you don't seem interested at this car at all its like pulling a bloody tooth
