Never ever seen a 1981 Honda cr250 in the flesh and he has two original looking ones sitting there ! I have an engine for one for sale on facebook , came from a kart.
From the first time I was aware of the existence of the TT500 C , I made up my mind that I was gonna get one when I left school and got a job , so in 1980 at age 16 I got hold of a 1978 yellow TT500 E ( it had to be yellow for me) .I just rode it on the streets of Dunedin NZ , ( a little bit of dirt use) it was a good handler on the road , even with knobby tyres .I really wish I'd never sold it .
I remember in about 1977 seeing a guy getting around town on what seemed to be a '76 TT500 C model , with the low exhaust pipe , but it was all yellow, instead of White with red and black. It wasn't a D or E model. Anyone else seen one like that?
@@barrycuda3769 Dave at Obsolete Motorcycle Parts at Dubbo has original Yamaha "500 Single" sidecover stickers for $5 each When I got the bike about ten years ago it came with two spare original stickers and I got a pair of reproduction "500 Single" decals from a fella in Tasmania and I recently got five more originals from Dave I have plenty 🤗
the ol man bought a brand new YZ400 1976 in Melbourne off the floor and it was yellow with two big brass domes on top off the forks ,he started it up scared the hell out off him and parked it ,stayed parked till 1995 ,he told us it had maybe 4 hours ride time ,sold in Trading Post for 200 dollars
@@Tommo47NZ Oh cool , I'm from Dunedin, and I remember Trevor King , in particular in 1980 or 1981 he was riding a TT250 at Christie's Gully Ian Brown memorial motocross, I cant remember if I was there, but the event was on TV , probably the following Sunday. Was Greg a Dunedin rider as well?
@@Tommo47NZ I know it sounds a bit odd him riding a TT250 in a motocross, but I have a good memory, and I'd almost bet it was improved power and suspension wise . I remember him having a modified TT 350 in about 1984 ish . Of course , I know that 2 strokes would have been more usual for him .

Yep! I almost started to have too many bikes. Not old either. Once the fuel sits and the seals dry out you are up for more money just to get them running again. Not worth keeping any more than 3 in my opinion. Start them atleast every 3 weeks if your not riding them.

Trev was riding TT`s well after he raced competitively, so I doubt he was riding a trail bike at the Gully .
