Yeah. I remember thinking the Americans were so lucky. They seemed to have the best of everything. Australia, particularly Brisbane seemed so dull and backwater. Now I thank God every day I don’t live in that madhouse with an old coot running the show, and a fool inches away from taking over. Gun violence, race violence at its worst etc….
Had one of last HZ Premier wagons available, built 78 Dec and registered 79 March by first owner. I bought it from a local auction for $1100 same colour too. 5.0LT, Turbo 400,GTS dash cluster,10 bolt diff with rear disc brakes and power windows. Being one of the early kebab van owners in the early 80's ,it was sold with the kebab van in 1985. With no knowledge back then, i would have kept it and made some money from it today. Mind you, i still dream of the damn thing being in my hand....keep dreaming and kick the bucket.... It's one of the best GMH had to offer for its time.
I was never quite a Holden man, even though I bought 3 over the years, but I would be in a heartbeat if the Lion was resurrected. (Unless they built EVs, forget that.) Very nice example, this.
My Uncles was a deeper metallic choc brown color .. was original HZ with upgrades to the 308 engine ended up a stoker with mustang pistons .. I think, then right after the vehicle was stolen from Hornsby NSW ... no matter the reward money .. its simply vanished ... was a magic time growing up in the 70s.... sandman's ( and Valliant's equivalent in bright yellow) .. XC Cobras , SLR 5000 in lime green... deep maroon Monaro's with honey comb wheels .. and girls with freckles LOL not to mention YoYos and ... wait for it .. firework !!! yeah we had fireworks AFP !!!!! cap guns .. cowboy hats .. and crazy cars sold on showroom floors in Oz like Boss 429 Mustangs in 1969.... My Grandpa had one , white with gold stripe.....
@@gav6808 besides the word of second owner no way definitive to say otherwise , having closely looked at rhetorical car in person with owners permission there’s nothing to suggest it’s not all day one …
Who would've thought we were living in the best of times back then?

I wish they’d imported these to the States. They are such good looking cars!
You could always import one, your dollar is so strong it would be fairly viable
It's totally incredible. What a beautiful car.
Agreed
That belongs in a museum!
