    No player is as dangerous as an inspired Del Potro. His tennis at 2016 Rio Olympics was completely mindblowing. His best performance in a two setter

    • @jay_kulina
      @jay_kulina 3 года назад +19

      As a Delpo fan, i don't think 2016 Olympics is his best. Maybe his most emotional and inspirational one(cos he was just returning from an almost career-ending injury). I'd say he played his best 2-setters in Shanghai 2013(even though he lost the final to Novak) or Basel 2013. One reason: backhand! In Rio, he could only slice with it. It was a major weakness in his game. His forehand was brilliant though. And sure, he did beat both Novak and Rafa, but Novak was too passive in that match and Rafa was having a terrible year overall(not as bad as 2015, but still terrible)

    • @ronamusic8630
      @ronamusic8630 Год назад +1

      @@jay_kulina thats why his performance at rio was even more impressive!! Not having a backhand, makes this achievement even more worthful. I mean, he had to readapt his entire gamestyle to not risk his wrist, and still managed to win against djoko in his best prime. The delpo's forehand at Rìo may have been the best forehand I`ve ever seen. Its a thing of beauty

      @@jay_kulinaSin dudas el olimpiadas 2016 vs Djokovic fue su mejor partido. No es que Djokovic fuera demasiado pasivo, fue que Juan Martín no lo dejó jugar en ningún momento. Simplemente fue superior al punto que Djokovic se fue llorando, no solo por perder la oportunidad de una medalla sino que sabiendo que estaba jugando de la mejor manera su oponente fue superior siempre, en cada tanto.

      I think once, years ago, Roger said something like he used to play to his opponent's best shot, just to prove himself that he could beat him anyway. Besides, Roger's forehand is one of the best ever, so maybe he tried to beat Delpo in that department, in order to affect Juan's mindset (you cant beat me with your best shot). It never really worked, cause in the end he always beated Juan making him run a lot, and changing directions all the time with his shots, in order to make Delpo hit out of balance

    I mean I think that even with his level at 2018, he would have still been top 10 for sure even better. This guy can play real tennis, like some real tennis . The brutality of those rallies and being able to hit through Nadal and Djokovic at their primes so consistently is something else, without injuries this guy would have had multiple grand slams and there is no one who can even doubt that
