I've watched tennis for 40+ years, and I still think Nalbandian is the best player I've ever seen seen. No, he didn't have the consistency. No, he didn't have the full commitment. No, he never truly wanted it. But when he was on, he was on. He could make Rafa, Roger and Novak look almost pedestrian at times. Turn their offense into double-offense right back at them. Hit from anywhere in the court. Find and create outrageous angles and control. At his very best move them around like pawns. Utterly sublime.

@Wake Wood Before Daniil Medvedev in tactical play, there was David Nalbandian. The major difference between the two, is that Medvedev has a much, much better serve, and also is much, much more physically fit. And the result? A Slam win for Medvedev (and most likely, many more to come). For many years, Nalbandian had the best brain in tennis (hands down). Small wonder, that he's a coach now (working with Miomir Kecmanovic, who had good results: 4th RD in this year's AO). And one of his biggest focuses with Miomir? Physical fitness :)

It destroys players that doesn't attack that much or give him time to prepare his backhand.
Which is the reason he's doing well against Djokovic since a few years now cuz he improved his backands and Djokovic doesn't set a pressure as Federee does.

He's the only one to do that but we have to consider that Djokovic and Nadal weren't at their best in 2007 cuz they were only 20-21 especially Nadal on Hard even if they were probably already Top 3.
And the opportunity to face every members of the Big 3 in one tournament is very low due to the fact that if Djokovic lost a round or Nadal or Federer, Nalbandian wouldn't have face them etc.
However, this is still awesome he made it, he was an awesome player, the greatest backhand to me and one of the smartest player on the Tour.
Tsonga in Toronto 2014 did beat 4 members of Top 10 : Federer Djokovic Murray and Dimitrov, i'm maybe more amazed by Tsonga in this case cuz Djokovic was good at the time, Dimitrov too, Murray also and Federer was okay i guess cuz he made it to the Final in that tournament then he had back issues at Davis Cup (idk if it was after Toronto or before).
