Delpo my favorite tennis player! 💖 A player who was able to compete with the Big 3 the second to have the most wins against them. A humble player with a big heart on and off the courts. One of the only players to be unanimously loved by all. But one of the most unlucky physically with all his injuries that he had (wrist, knee ...). If he had not been so unlucky he could have been part of a big 5. Delpo a tennis legend that we are not ready to forget 💖🎾
I will miss the gentle power tower from Tandil. A sad day for all of us tennis fans, because he wasn't just a great tennis player he was and still is a great human being. Thank you DelPo for the beautiful moments, what you've shared with us and I wish you a happy and healthy retirement. Gracias por todo gran hombre
I'll miss a lot the power and speed from his backhands and forehands, all he did on court against the Big Three and for my country, Argentina. Thank you so much Delpo for everything, i wish you a happiest and healthiest life.
Good idea.... 22 titles is damn impressive....I wonder how many he could have potentially picked up without all the injuries such a great tennis player.
In an era of 3 GOATS , What he has achieved is simply incredible ! He is the lone player to win a major (2009 US open) outside of Big 3 from 2005 French open to 2012 Wimbledon spanning 30 tournaments !!!
His potential to have been esp Nadal's nemesis was clear because he hit an outstanding angled backhand along with first class movement for a big man.3-5 slams could have been in his remit inc a threat on clay..
@@jaim8842 No one said he was, but he would've won a solid 4 or 5 Grand Slams, and was one of the few guys who could beat them on a regular basis, like Murray and Wawrinka.

the only thing that is maybe a positive from his retirement (besides him getting better of course) is all the videos and highlights that will now be made to celebrate him. i'll never get tired watching him play
I was fortunate to watch Del Potro - Roddick on a steaming hot day at the US open 2012 which became Andys last match and I recall thinking I thought Andy deserved more than one slam but also perhaps more clear in my memory was how incredibly respectfull Delp was to Andy during his retirement "on court cermony" afterwards and if Delpo would finnish with more than one. Sadly Delpo didnt and he wil be missed greatly!
i doht know delpos game play too well but seems like he didn't make many errors, did he? looks very patient in these rallies, with high margin and high shot tolerance. i might be wrong tho.
you are right. ha wasnt the "crazy archetype" of dominant baseliner. high tennis iq with a weird footwork. and yes his patience was one of his "tools" in long matches (he has some)
Remarkable that the two players that could have spoiled the party for djoko, nadal and federer both came from Argentina. Besides delpo I am off course thinking of Nalbandian.
he was never the same after the first injury, but yet he won IW and made to the final of USO, for sure he would have been world number 1 at the level he had in 2009 and considering he would have continued to improve
Un portento de la derecha, del saque, del revés. Qué pena de lesiones en su carrera. Un gigante roto. 🇦🇷👏🏼🇦🇷🦸🇦🇷 Inolvidable en la Davis, JJOO, Open EEUU, ... When Rafa and Novak have to guess where your forehand is gonna go, then you know you have something special. Too bad injuries didn't let us enjoy more of Delpo on tour. I'm sure he would have won a lot more titles, maybe including a couple more grand slams.
24 minutes Del Potros- Highlights in his career 👍🎾 I can not imagine how many hours Tennis TV will show when El Maestro (Roger Federer)🎾👏👍 announces his retirement. We will see...

The unluckiest man in tennis, in terms of injuries. Poor guy.
There is absolutely no way the Big 3 would have won 61 GS if he was healthy. One of the saddest "what if" ever.
They totally would have lol
They are the Big 3 for a reason. Though I agree he´d have won more than one major.
he would’ve been at least at andy murray’s level

Del Potro got the best forehand in tennis. It's so amazing to watch.
Epic 💥💯
He was the only guy for which people have more inclination towards win than that of Federer. The gentleman of the game...Delpotro

No, 29 is not THAT much. Zverev and Djokovic had a 50+ shots rally in last year US Open, and that wasn't even the losgest ever.
