    Hi, Kaylen. I'm not a metal player, but it's always great to meet a fellow Stratocaster-lover. I find your videos extremely enjoyable and insightful, and you're actually making me seriously consider making videos myself again. 😁 RUclips has certainly come a long way from the mono-aural and low-res content that I made in the beginning.

    7:46 I have that strat but in black with the aluminum pickguard! I bought it because I wanted something cheap that I could mod and take on the road without worries. I gave it a hot wheels theme with duct tape racing stripes, and I swapped out the stock knobs for Fender amp ones and a black switchtip. I'm hoping to eventually transfer the Player pickups into it from my Fender which I want to upgrade with Texas Specials eventually. It's lightweight body and baseball-bat thick neck made it an awesome travel guitar! I bought it in San Antonio, live with it in Houston, and I took it on a roadtrip from Austin to Denver and back! Other than making creaky noises up in the Rockies, it was a great travel instrument!

    Hey man, nice rack of Strats! You fly fast on them. I've always liked the way Strats look and offer a different sound usually but the longer scale length defeats me a little on reachy scales and chords down at the bottom end of the neck. Although I have a Schecter Tele-style PT Saturn with Fender scale length, and I love it, I only use it for certain things now since my older hands are not so agile or flexible. These days I play better all-around on a Gibson length shorter scale. So anyway it's nice to have options. But I wish Strats and Teles could be had with an optional shorter scale. I do have a Squier Mustang with a 24" scale and it solves this whole problem for me. Fun and easy. If Strats had this option I'd own one now. Probably one reason you play so well on a long neck is your hand span and bone structure let you take advantage of it. Cool to see you like bass enough to own a couple, that blue HB looks fantastic. Also appears to have a shorter scale length than a P or J style like the giant-looking first HB bass you showed. Is that true? Because if I buy a bass I'm looking for one with a shorter scale. Luna makes an interesting one with like a 28 or 30" scale, way shorter than a Fender type. Oh well, love your show, Cheers from Dallas!

    • @sixstringtv1
      @sixstringtv1  2 года назад

      I've got rather big hands so the scale length on Strats doesn't bother me. I did once briefly own that LTD EC-100 though and the shorter scale pissed me off.

    6:19 I've got a 27 fret Ibanez Xiphos that sounds like that. Extremely noisy pots, I'm not sure if the bridge pickup is dying or if the pickup selector is broken. But it's a bummer

    yeah i got rid of all my strats that had the awful truss rod access, if it's a heel access truss rod it has to have a spoke wheel or i dont want it
    also with the antigua burst, i feel like it really depends on how it was done. my old antigua fender had a darker burst to it and it looked a lot better to me
    also also, based Baby Metal hoodie

      I got such a good deal on my black Strat that i didn't care much, but in retrospect it does annoy me and I have no clue why anybody would opt for that on a guitar.

    I like the contemporary squire guitar but I want that pink one myself lol... I was at my mom's today for her birthday and had to help her with moving some stuff and I found my first electric guitar that I owned it's a harmony electric guitar it's pretty old idk I lost track of it shit I honestly thought it found its self in the trash. My step-dad who recently passed away had his brothers 70 something Tesco del ray which he died as a teenager by drowning 😢 I was trying to get that one of my mom just so I could fix it up but she wouldn't give me it... evh started on a del ray. They aren't great guitars but the body shape is unique and the neck is actually pretty good ... I would of sanded that vs lacquer off it lol

    The problem I have with Strats is that the position of the volume knob means that my hand comes into contact with it when I'm palm muting. As a result, I often find that I'm inadvertently turning the volume down on the guitar, which is obviously sub-optimal. That aside, they're fine. Ive swapped out the stock bridge pickup on mine for a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup and it screams like a rock beast.🤘

    • @sixstringtv1

      I hear this a lot and I've never understood it. I have never once touched the pickup switch or the volume knob while playing

    • @kevinblake839

      @@sixstringtv1 Must be a question of technique. Unfortunately, my palm muting style is pretty much set in stone at this point. Anyway, I only have one Strat among my other nine guitars, so I only use it sparingly.
