Thanks for the info and for the great playing. I think your playing is next level and think you are extremely tasteful in everything you do. My favorite players are Andy Timmons, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, Chris Buck, and you. Love the tone and feeling you play with. Thanks for all of the great content. 🎸🎸
Cool seeing this collection and the fact that a lot of these are not mad expensive. Would be interesting to see a rundown of how many of these you gig, which ones and why. A kind of "here's the essentials you need" type video, (if there isn't one already). Oh and enjoying the pod go presets a ton, definitely a lot of good stuff to use there 🙏🏼
Really love today's tune. The "head" was super soulful and was a really beautiful melody. Develop that into a full tune I reckon. So much potential! Loved it. Thanks John! -Liam
I went through a phases of buying and selling…custom shop fenders, Nash, Xotic, Tom Anderson, and now all I own are two KLine Springfields, I absolutely love Chris’s guitars
I ordered the Vintage Sunburst Sire H7V, waiting for it to arrive. Ordered it thanks to your reviews and videos. I find Sire hit and miss, but when they hit, they hit quite nicely. Hoping for good QC this time. Thanks for all of your videos John. I have about 9 guitars and think of reducing them, can’t imagine what your place is like with all of those axes around 😊
Great collection John. As always, love the playing. More budget guitars, I saw the Aria Pro 2 before, maybe try the Tagima budget ones too. Much love brother.
Those are some nice guitars. The Seth Baccus baritone looks super cool. It’s kinda funny that for the longest time the main guitar I associated with you was the blue K Line, or just strats in general, but it seems like you have a lot if singlecuts too (which tend to be my personal favorites). You do sound like you with pretty much everything, but the good news is, you always sound good.
Are you playing through a digital unit (Tonex/Neural_DSP etc)? I wonder whether some of these units add some aural excitation by default to the sounds which makes it more "trebly". Good walk-through of your guitars.
I just went and purchased your Helix presets. Easily the best value available! I think buying presets is kinda dumb because I don't want to play someone elses rig, I want to play my own. But what I want is inspiration. To see what other people are using and what settings they use, so I can repurpose them for my own use. And seriously, £5 for 100's of presets is more than worth it. Thank you!
Sounding the same on anything is the sign of a truly great guitarist. Also you keep crapping on the way that Maybach looks I might have to make an offer. 😉
You do kick ass whenever I hear you play the revstar. I would like to here you play on the standard and the element series. Also the tokai's. Keep up the great work
Total estimated value on the used market? Although maybe most of the guitarists I know are always looking for one more guitar, there does appear to be a difference between the players who are looking for variety and value, and those who are looking for specificity and brand (not necessarily big brand-certainly your affinity for K-Line falls here).
Great collection! That San Bernadino looks very fetching! I was trying a couple of Eastmans over in Shenzen a while back SB59/v & Juliet, which I loved, and asked my partner what she thought and she said 'they sound like all your other guitars' . . . so there ya go! BTW, a few days I got a reply from 'you' saying you had chosen from your viewers to give me a free guitar and I should 'Telegram' you, so in case you weren't aware scam alert - I see a lot of these on guitar reviewer channels. Cheers.
If you're starting a list, add me for that Tokai ES335 if you ever want to sell it. That is just a stunning guitar. I know a lot of RUclipsrs feel collections videos may feel like showing off, but I think it's the same as wanting to see anyone's collection. It's just fun seeing all those guitars. Enjoyed this video. Thanks.
I’ve got a Maybach Honeyburst they’re wonderful guitars, in my opinion having played my friends Gibson Custom built, Maybach are custom quality for Standard prices
I'm surprised you don't have any Eastman's in your collection. I think I remember you trying one. I have several and I absolutely love them. If you want to try something that's a little off the beaten path try a Reverend Warhawk 390. It has three P90 pickups and is wired somewhat like a Stratocaster. But it's got this bass Contour knob really makes a huge difference. You can make it sound like just about anything. I highly recommend those it's my favorite guitar right now.
Not sure where you live but I live in a free country and you have the right to buy as many guitars as you want. With that said Im gonna give my 2 cents on guitar collecting. I’ve been play guitar (in bands) for a very long time. For the first 15 years I owned one electric and one acoustic. Those guitars were intimately part of my being. I was satisfied. A Gibson Les Paul with some basic modifications.. Did everything i wanted it to do. One amp as well I should add a Music Man 212 HD130. Pedals included Morley volume wah and a rarely used phase shifter and chorus. So. Later years I picked up a couple of other guitars 335, strat, tele. Thats it. One of each. Rarely ever played them. Truly were a waste to own. So, I don’t see owning all these guitars you can’t [;ay them all you never get truly in-tune with any of them and they become a distraction to creating music I believe. Most of the greats are known for one guitar. I believe there is a real reason for this. Once you go down this path you become like a Pokémon collector and always have to find another and another and never happy. You forget the music and just get lost in the gear tornado. Same with amps and pedals. Thats my opinion which doesn’t matter at all.
I'm always surprised at how much your tone sounds like you no matter which guitar you're playing. That can be a good thing, and means a bunch of different makes, models, and prices don't matter.
Having your own tone and personal note choice does not equal to sound exactly the same. You have a distinct style and one can for sure hear differences between the guitars you own snd play. Great collection! I dig K-Lines and Tokais the most. That P-90 Goldtop is on my radar.
It's funny, the most guitars I ever owned at one time was 3. And I often feel like I was neglecting one of the two I usually have. I wonder how you lads manage to bond and interact with so many at one time. Same with amps. I find it considerably easier and more appealing to get along with three women at one time than with three rigs.
I agree, Sonic blue, especially a SLIGHTLY faded sonic blue, is an underrated finish. I've had several guitars over the last 30 years in sonic blue. I wish my Novo was that color
There’s no such thing as Too Many Guitars. Where n = the number of guitars that you possess The ideal number = n+1 As a crusty old life-long bass player I currently have 9 basses. I may soon sell off a couple of the heavier ones … my pair of TRB-6P ‘s I’m looking at you ... As a Born-again Thin-String player student I have amassed a mere 19 over the last 7 years. While that May seem a lot, I don’t have another 55 years to go through all the trials and errors that I did with basses. (I started at 12) For most of my playing life I just had 2 thin-string guitars: an Eko Ranger IV (70s) and a Japanese Strat (96). I’m blaming a certain RUclipsr name of John Nathan Cordy for my latest … a PRS SE DGT . Arrived this afters. Love It. ❤🎸 Not a THING to have to do to it cos’ Peach Guitars do a setup on all their guitars before sending to you. Nice tip from JNC there 👍
That baritone tele is so cool, and 24 frets too. I wish there were more 24 fret strat/tele, but everything else basically the same, I just prefer the feel.
So the Epiphone '59 LP isn't around. Thought you liked that one? Granted, Tokai is a better guitar all around. Eastman is making some fine LP style guitars also.
First of all, it’s good to know a player of your caliber can be happy playing moderately priced guitars. It’s a good reminder that high end gear doesn’t make one a better player. Secondly, this video begs the question if you could have only 1 guitar with single coil pickups, and 1 with hum bucket pickups, which would you choose, and why? To my ear, your playing sounds somewhat similar on all your videos. I presume the choice would come down to personal preferences like feel, playability as much as tones.
Yeh you're right, I think I'd ultimately end up making them all sound the same - number 1 choice would be the Blue K-Line - I'm not sure what I'd pick for humbuckers, but maybe the ES165 might be the most actually different sounding guitar I have?
I had a super awkward conversation with my wife this morning when she noticed that I broke our agreement and bought a fourth guitar (the Aaron Marshall Schecter AM-6). It was especially awkward when I walked backwards up the stairs explaining which one of my other three was being sold to make way for it - both of us knowing that I’m lying through my teeth.
My Chinesium neck-through Tele was a case where there was such a radical difference in sound (attack and sustaaaaaaaaain) that A. I don't sound like that on other guitars B. I'm not able to dial that thing in with other guitars, no matter how often I catch myself trying. Too bad the neck became warped 😢
I can't believe how cheap you got that Kline. What a steal. Sad to hear you may let go of your AZ. I think they are incredible guitars and you raved about them not so long ago. A thought as someone who has gone through many guitars, too. Maybe having too many guitars makes us more prone to falling in and out of love with them in short spans?
Wow you got rid of the Lazarus, and you’re talking about selling the Gibson LP. I seem to remember you loved that Lazarus. That says a lot for the Maybachs and Tokais. I have a Chinese Tokai LP myself. Not sure why a player at my level (i.e. sucks) needs anything more expensive.
Basically I won't have anything with a duplicate capability. I now force myself to chose between either one if pickups or materials are the same. I also will just sell If I don't play it in 6 months/1yr. I don't have enough in traditional investments to warrant collecting. Maybe in another decade. Then there's the bit where you get to old age and consider your family will get taken when they have to sell. At that point I will keep around what I think they would have sentiment for and sell the rest.
It turns out you have one less than me. The difference (given it’s the most recent acquisition), is a 60th anniversary ‘59 LP - not a bad little number.
Am I the only one who notices that some of the guitars with the tastiest tone have the bridge saddles basically in line with the frets? Not staggard light to heavy.
The appropriate number of guitars is the number you have plus one
Stop it. Lol
Exactly!!!
X +1= a happy guitar player. Its all in the math!
Agreed until I took up photography - now 4 guitars = 1 lens
@@Arthur_My_Dear I have the same rule with cameras ... Fuji Xe1, X100, Xpro1, Xpro3, etc.
It's nice to be reminded that even when you think you are being excessive there is someone out there with more guitars. :D
"If you're desperately looking for a K-line.....nah, I'm not gonna get rid of any of them."
I laughed out loud.
Mate. There must be at least dozens of us that want you to play Jazz! Please play the hollowbody more !
With 85k subscribers, there must be *thousands* of us! 8-)
Absolutely! All 7 of us would like to see more jazz 😁
"and of course I sound pretty much the same no matter what I'm playing" 😅 how I feel as well haha
Really puts the phrase "tone is in the fingers" to the next level.
I enjoyed that! Thanks for giving us a peek in to your collection. Some lovely stuff 👍
Love the intro piece! They're always great, but this one was particularly nice! Thanks for that.
The intro playing nearly brought me to tears. So much feel beautiful note choices wow
The Tokai Les Paul with the P90’s sounds amazing as I remember
That was Fantastic John,,,,,,You sticking this backing track up on your Patreon ?
Bro! The white K-line Springfield is the absolute best-looking and sounding Strat style you have, IMHO. You've created some serious GAS with that one!

Really love today's tune. The "head" was super soulful and was a really beautiful melody. Develop that into a full tune I reckon. So much potential! Loved it. Thanks John!
-Liam
That les Paul standard has had my name on it a while now mate!!!
My favourite is that San Bernardino. Like to hear more of it soon
I went through a phases of buying and selling…custom shop fenders, Nash, Xotic, Tom Anderson, and now all I own are two KLine Springfields, I absolutely love Chris’s guitars
Great playing John one of the best on the tube.
Have you ever considered selling them all and getting one amazing one, like a Harley Benton with upgraded pickups?
All the strats are awesome. I own classic vibe 60's strat, one & only.
Blue K-line Strat is magic. PRS-DGT is a close second.
Seems like most the K-line stringfields are over 2,500 US now?
I think selling the Gibson Les Paul might be a mistake. I think you sound really great one that one and the blue K Line.
Gorgeous playing on the white S-style guitar, man, inspiring!
How did you find the ‘circle fretting system’ FGN advertise as helping intonation?
Did you end up keeping the Eastman? How does it compare to your other LP’ish guitars?
Are you playing through a digital unit (Tonex/Neural_DSP etc)? I wonder whether some of these units add some aural excitation by default to the sounds which makes it more "trebly". Good walk-through of your guitars.
Man im missing the dangelico guitars you were playing! Some of the very first videos i saw of you were with the dangelico guitar you had!
I just went and purchased your Helix presets. Easily the best value available! I think buying presets is kinda dumb because I don't want to play someone elses rig, I want to play my own. Well, now I no long feel guilty about owning ten guitars! Awesome collection.
Sounding the same on anything is the sign of a truly great guitarist.
Also you keep crapping on the way that Maybach looks I might have to make an offer. 😉
You do kick ass whenever I hear you play the revstar. I would like to here you play on the standard and the element series. Also the tokai's. Keep up the great work
That Tokai 335 is gorgeous
Bro, I love the ES165 jazz box. 👍. 🍻🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🇨🇦
Was hoping to see the J Mascis Jazzmaster still in your collection after stumbling upon your channel when finding the demo of yours back then 😅
are you posting up this backing track on your patreon john ?
Your choice of guitars and sound is stellar! I’m almost at the point of getting a helix because I saw your demos! Thanks brother!
Total estimated value on the used market? Dude your strings seem so high off of the fretboard. What is the measure over the 12'th fret for those Gibson style guitars?
I think the Revstar suits you. Great guitar
nice collection/selection....why no SG
That baritone sounded excellent!
lol, I studied jazz at uni for a few years so I went into debt learning to play music that would earn me no money because nobody wanted to hear it.
more fgn vids if you can. great playing and videos thank you sir !!!
How would you rate the entry level FGNs to the Sire T3/7?
If you're starting a list, add me for that Tokai ES335 if you ever want to sell it. That is just a stunning guitar.

I'm always surprised at how much your tone sounds like you no matter which guitar you're playing. That can be a good thing, and means a bunch of different makes, models, and prices don't matter.
The sire 335 style with the p90 pickups has great cleans, I would like to hear that more as well as the jazz box.
Having your own tone and personal note choice does not equal to sound exactly the same. You have a distinct style and one can for sure hear differences between the guitars you own snd play. Great collection! I dig K-Lines and Tokais the most. That P-90 Goldtop is on my radar.
@johnnathancordy it looks like someone is trying to scam 😉

Cordy tele one of my favs when you play it
That baritone tele is so cool, and 24 frets too. I wish there were more 24 fret strat/tele, but everything else basically the same, I just prefer the feel.
I enjoy seeing the les Paul the most but I’m biased 😏
So the Epiphone '59 LP isn't around. Thought you liked that one? Granted, Tokai is a better guitar all around. Eastman is making some fine LP style guitars also.
Did you get rid of the Eastman ?
Revstars?
Just flicked through (will listen fully later) and don’t see any.
Maybe its absence mentioned at some point??
Found it. Still has one in the cupboard. I assume that would be the blue RS02T
I like the Revstar and the FGN Iliad
I've got one of each and they are great.
Dude your playing is incredible as always. But-Who is Jake? You mention him all the time, so I feel like I should know who you’re talking about.
instagram.com/jakeloosemore/?hl=en-gb - local lad!!
Would love to see more Baritone content from you. A la Mark Lettieri Deep albums.
First of all, it’s good to know a player of your caliber can be happy playing moderately priced guitars. It’s a good reminder that high end gear doesn’t make one a better player.

One of my favourite guitar that you reviewed was the Sire S3. That has an amazing tone for almost 400 euros
Your style definitely suits strat.
Tokai Tokai Tokai ❤
The strat style K lines seem to really inspire your playing.
U sound awesome with the EJ strat tbh
It's a good thing to sound like yourself on any instrument, so your sound goes, where ever you go, no matter the hardware, kudos. . . . . . .
Wow you got rid of the Lazarus, and you’re talking about selling the Gibson LP. I seem to remember you loved that Lazarus. That says a lot for the Maybachs and Tokais.
I have a Chinese Tokai LP myself. Not sure why a player at my level (i.e. sucks) needs anything more expensive.
nice selection!
I think you sound best with that one guitar with those pickups and the thingy on it...other than that, you pretty much sound ok with the others. 😁
I lIke all the guitars you've shown in this video. There I said it.
I should've bought a K-line Springfield when you had
Feel much better now, thank you. I have about 8 that I am planning to sell
At that point I will keep around what I think they would have sentiment for and sell the rest.
didnt you just had an eastman?
You sound great on all of them, but I tend to like your semi-hollows and the vibe they inspire you to play.
It turns out you have one less than me. The difference (given it’s the most recent acquisition), is a 60th anniversary ‘59 LP - not a bad little number.
Rest in Power, Gold Strat😢
Am I the only one who notices that some of the guitars with the tastiest tone have the bridge saddles basically in line with the frets? Not staggard light to heavy.
P90's, particularly semi hollow P90's.
More baritone!!
Only 2 (enough for me) my old G10 and new mini DC D'Angelico
what happened to the prs dgt se?
k-line needs to pay this man!!!
need a bit of switch cleaner on the white one mate 😊
What happened to the SE 594?
