Thanks for +10 million views on this whole channel ladies and gentlemen! Should I RE-REVIEW Grand Theft Auto 2, III, & Vice City? I think I can make better videos of those games... and it gives me an excuse to re-play them again, haha.
Hi ColourShed, I just went through all of the Gran Turismo videos, and they made me so nostalgic! I loved 1&3A-Spec particularly because I still have them since I was 4 years old. Anyway, do you think you could do a review of GT Sport? I don't currently own it and I'm thinking about buying it.
This game was the shit when I was 8 years old, proper nostalgia seeing this. It's funny I liked a lot of the things you complained about. I liked the feel of the cars, just watching this I can remember the feel of each of the different types of vehicle. Stealing and selling the cars was awesome as well. Love the music in the game Aswell. If this was before your time then it's probably best to avoid it
This game is like 7 years older than me and it was still a blast to play My first GTA was 3 though, so obviously it took a fair time to get used to the gameplay and the feel of the game I'm moving through Mandarin Mayhem on PC now and it's not an easy game, but so rewarding
@@yobrethren I know you're probably not an American based on your username so you probably don't give a shit but it's weird for me to realize that there are now adults who were born after 9/11
It came out when I was like 12, and I remember loving it so much, one of my favorite games of back then, it was different from anything else, it was very fun and entertaining to me
I remember having a N64 as kid, and being so jealous of my brother's PS1, because he had this game and Metal Gear Solid. It blew me away that you could take any vehicle, run people over, and have police chases.
Definitely agree. It was so much fun back in the day on PS1, GTA 2 as well. But when I now watch footage of these, I get dizzy from the gameplay footage alone.
I used to play the 5 minute demo over and over again, days at a time. I was 11 at the time and happy with what I got, didn't let my 10year old brother play though, he was too young 😂
OMG totally same with me.. I was also about 11.. was playing on my cousin's PC (he had a "beast" at that time :)).. also had a demo-version, which I had played for many many MANY hours..
This was my first grand theft auto. Imagine how blown my mind was when 3 came out. I must've followed it up to release through E3 footage and screenshots for about a year and a half.
"Whatever you drive feels like a bulldozer" most accurate analogy I've ever heard when describing the total garbage driving in this game. great video mate!
@@someguy8951 Don’t get me fucking started on the Superbikes. Those things go from 0 to Mach 1 in a millisecond. It would be fun if you could actually control it well without crashing into a wall or car every 5 seconds.
There actually is a damage indicator for the cars in GTA1 but its a very subtle one. Its the engine noise, the more damaged a car gets the louder the engine will rattle.
As a longtime GTA fan, I started out with GTA 3 and Vice City and everything afterward. However, when I got my first computer I was obsessed with looking up everything about the franchise, from screenshots to beta trailers and game mods, and I still look up the official fan Wiki on occasion. That is when I first discovered how it all started and even downloaded demos to GTA 2 and Midnight Club II, before playing those titles in full. While it may feel janky and clunky compared by today's standards, there's a certain charm to it.
Matthew Cool I started with San Andreas. Which is by far my favourite, but that could be nostalgia talking. But I was happy to find the “three pack” on the PS store and got the first three GTA games and you’re right. By today’s standards they’re a bit jerky (even SA is not as smooth control wise.) But there’s this sort of old school charm to them.
@@someonerandom8552 I remember being hyped for San Andreas by way of reading various Game Informer magazines and catching tv spots with that kickass Guns N' Roses song in the background. And to put it bluntly, it blew my expectations out of the water and then some. And sure, while the PS1/PS2 GTA titles may feel a bit janky compared to IV and V, I still find enjoyment out them. Particularly when it comes to the music, where Vice City and its prequel Vice City Stories being my favorite soundtracks.
Matthew Cool I think I randomly played SA because at the time, that was like the most rebellious thing ever, at least that’s what younger me thought lol! A violent video game corrupting my precious little mind, so said all the media around me. And GTA especially got most of the ire. I even got multiple versions of SA through the years. First was a gift for my clunky old af PC. But that broke down years later so I had to seek out another version. Got the 360 version. Which isn’t a good version admittedly, but it was better than nothing I thought. Nephew broke the disc. Le sigh. I was so happy that I was able to get it on the PS store for my PS4. Thank the gaming gods! I love the stories for Vice, IV and SA. I mean I still curse at certain missions due to clunky controls. But man, those games are stone cold classics imo. And I agree with you about Vice’s music. I think I slightly prefer the SA soundtrack, but that could be because that was the “badass” soundtrack lol Well as kids that’s what we all thought, anyway haha
Matthew Cool By the way, what’s your thoughts on GTAV? I feel like everything is there for me to love it. The graphics are nice, controls are smooth as silk, the characters are amusing and the satire is typical Rockstar. But I find myself playing Red Dead 2 far more often than V.

That intro song (Joyride by Da Shootaz) is burned into my head! 🎶Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide And call up the boys, let's go for a joyride🎶
DMA Design also made Space Station Silicone Valley on the N64, which is funny when you realize it's a game in which you hijack the bodies of dead robotic animals to solve platforming puzzles and other random shit. It even has at least one SWEAR WORD! On the N64! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Never had any desire to play this. All the footage I ever saw of it made me think " Looks like you don't see nearly enough of the screen at once to be able to play", and you confirmed that. Still have no desire to play it, but they sure did get things right later on.
Just played it. All I can say really is that you’ll really like it at first but end up despising it immensely after playing for 2 or 3 hours. If all you’re planning to do is mess around in the map then nothing should bother you besides getting used to the controls which can be rebinded at any time. HOWEVER, if you actually plan on actually completing the game, then you have to have 150% patience and dedication cause you’re going to need it. Oh yeah something I feel that will help out to new players is debug mode which gives you the ability to zoom out the camera. (Simply enter “porkcharsui” as your character name; the “K” and “L” keys will then be set to setting the camera up or down)
often when making retro reviews people don't understand what games were back in the day, gta 1 was epic, absolute freedom, killing people by driving over them, steal every vehicle, a big city free to discover, those were the things that make the game unique for the time, graphic wise was not on the top in that period but gameplay wise this was so much fun
GTA1 did one thing right, that I missed in the supposedly superior sequel GTA2 - The gore, the ability to start a fight with, and the horrified screams of the pedestrians. I remember getting the flamethrower for the first time, and that first poor sod i tested it out on, just running around on fire, and then suddenly drop with a bloodcurdling scream, still burning and the gore slowly creeping up - sigh, such a sadistic delight that was....in GTA2 they just turned into a black crisp. Same with shooting, they just fell over. Or just go up to a rando, and just smack the delight out of them - and they would retaliate too! Not just run away like in GTA2. I consider GTA2 one of the best, because of many things, but oh boy, was it a disappointment on the "satisfactory" part of things.

Typical hindsight review. This was extremely fun and thus popular in the 90s. You didn't play this for the missions or the story. It was all about the endless possibilities and the mindless fun.
11:20 - classic GTA cops. This game is definitely of it's time and it doesn't age well - if you didn't play it when it first came out then it's not difficult to see how it's a pain.
I never heard of GTA when I was a kid during the PS1 days. To all the gamers that played the original and then going to gta3 on ps2 must have been amazing. To see everything in third person when in the past it was too down. I hope that gta6 is set in london
Do you think of doing Chinatown Wars? Its suprisingly... neat... even if i used it as an music player to just listen to its soundtrack on the bus... has a good soundtrack even if its light earrape.
ColourShedProductions I think you should re-review Grand Theft Auto 3. The history behind the game is so interesting with the whole 9/11 controversy and the possible multiplayer mode is just great to learn about also the game is nearly 20 years old so a re-review would be great
Some people are spoiled by technology. This game and the 2nd GTA were amazing! At the time there really was nothing like them. Stealing cars, selling cars, running pedestrians over, shooting at cops, killing frenzys, blowing things up, blood of nuns splattered on sidewalks.....both of these games were extremely fun and thank goodness nobody thought to make it aaaalllll about missions! Missions are great and all but nothing can compare to finding the tanks and wrecking havoc on the streets of whatever part of the city you were in and running over Elvis impersonators.
I remember getting this game back in the day around the same time as Carmageddon. I was very underwhelmed by the technology and the unforgiving (and dare I say unfair) difficulty of GTA. Especially when comparing it to Carmageddon. But I saw a lot of potential with the open world concept and imagined how good a game would be if it combined the 3D an physics of Carmageddon and the open world and mission of GTA. If anyone makes that game, I'm sure it'll sell like a thousand copies!
I played it around that time at a friend's house on the pc and felt the same way. Very underwhelmed. And that's basically what happened is what you said. Body Harvest and this game is more or less what became GTA3.
Dude, non-replayable missions, scarce opportunities to save and slim healthbar are GREATEST features of this game. Popularity of roguelike games in recent years proves that. I WISH modern GTA worked like that too.
Got it on my PS Classic! Great fun to mess around with. First GTA I played was GTA 3 and upward as a little kid. Cool to finally play the original. Difficult yes but understand when it was made and it was the first GTA it could of been a one and done game anyways!
My grandma got me this when i was 9 after i played it at my cousins. O man, endless hours, endless fun. On release you had no other sandbox game of this scope, as ugly as it was. And it's original soundtrack was superb.
I'd be more than happy if every vehicle in GTA V handled like the trucks as they're some of the only vehicles in the game with any weight to them. And even this has better police AI than 5.

And call up the boys, let's go for a joyride🎶
the best game in whole serie.. seriously :) I have spent unhealty amount of time with this legend when I was a kid!!
I was addicted to this game back in the day. I remember when the 3rd one coming out and my mind just blew up
(Good shot, kid. You got him)
(Good shot, kid. You got him)
Hotel, downtown, speeding all around
An AK-47 got the power in its barrel
To move any mother that gets in the way
Just another power machine on the freeway
Running with me is my MC homeboy
Knowing the rules ain't part of him program
Finding the right way around this map
Might be pretty hard 'cause he's fucked on crack
G- grand theft auto
You gotta make a mark and move where you want to
T- theft, determination
Steal what you can to run from the nation
A- Hey, what do you say?
We automate the sequence and speed from the getaway
Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide
And call up the boys, let's go for a joyride
Let's go for a joyride
Stop the violence from the police
My dad used to say but now he's deceased
He got caught in a jam, threw in the can
When the cops from Brooklyn said he killed another man
Seek knowledge was my main game
To think about the law to figure out the frame
Just when I thought I knew justice
A cop behind me said, "You've just been busted"
NYPD (NYPD)
LAPD (LAPD)
SFPD (SFPD)
Don't Fuck With Me.
"I don't have much in this life
It's the cess that keeps me from losing my head"
"Aleeex? Have you done your homework yet? And turn down those darn gizmos!"
To this day I still bump this soundtrack. Had some really catchy tunes.
I'm confused to why this almost feel like a game show complete with host-like narrator and crowd noises.
I LOVED this game back in the day. 2 was 10x better. 3 was mindblowing.
Never had any desire to play this. All the footage I ever saw of it made me think " Looks like you don't see nearly enough of the screen at once to be able to play", and you confirmed that. Still have no desire to play it, but they sure did get things right later on.
I will argue and standby my opinion that this is the purest Grand Theft Auto Game, with the best soundtrack as well lol
The game disc is also an audio CD, I still have mine
Been a gta fan since the first 2 games (and the London expansion). Then.....3 came out.... My favorite game series of ALL time.
I literally bought a ps2 for gta3.
Nice review mate. In the 90's that's basically all we had, we have been spoilt nowadays
Awesome content n review SHED !!
I always get happy when I see a ColorShed video.
11:20 hahahahaha that cop got out of his car and the car ran him over hahahaha
Just played it. All I can say really is that you’ll really like it at first but end up despising it immensely after playing for 2 or 3 hours. If all you’re planning to do is mess around in the map then nothing should bother you besides getting used to the controls which can be rebinded at any time. HOWEVER, if you actually plan on actually completing the game, then you have to have 150% patience and dedication cause you’re going to need it.
Oh yeah something I feel that will help out to new players is debug mode which gives you the ability to zoom out the camera. (Simply enter “porkcharsui” as your character name; the “K” and “L” keys will then be set to setting the camera up or down)
Got here before 1k views. It ain't much, but It's honest work
Where it all started.
YAY! ZX Spectrum. Love that machine. Second machine I owned as a kid after the Atari 800XL.
Here's 25 years to the game that started it all. 🥂
Can't wait for race n chase 6
This was the game that got me started in the Grand Theft Auto series. Especially on PC. :)
often when making retro reviews people don't understand what games were back in the day, gta 1 was epic, absolute freedom, killing people by driving over them, steal every vehicle, a big city free to discover, those were the things that make the game unique for the time, graphic wise was not on the top in that period but gameplay wise this was so much fun
You just made my day👌
GTA1 did one thing right, that I missed in the supposedly superior sequel GTA2 - The gore, the ability to start a fight with, and the horrified screams of the pedestrians.
Makes me proud to be Scottish knowing it all started in my country and is still made here to this day. being Rockstar North
This review brought back memories of me and my friend cracking jokes and hate-playing this game so much.
Cazre Thomas forza mototrsport 4 or relaracing 3 must review
Me: I am tired of the same old faces, the same old things
CSP: Well, looks like it's time to upload a new review !
Sorry m8 but I can't watch it today... but tomorrow at 19 O'clock (Austrian time) I can watch it.
And the comment is just a place holder
Edit: I managed to watch it befor I went work and it glorious! I hope you keep the Quality what you have. I hope you make one day a Review of Driver San Francisco.
Why did I think you already had done this one?
I feel like I'm one of the few who actually played GTA1 and 2
I doubt I can pick them up and play them again though lol
Adam Davis They are not playable today.
But I still want to try them
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 They are available for free and quite playable once you get through the initial learning curve. GTA1 does start to drag a bit due to easy dying, but GTA2 improved a lot on that and many other aspects.
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 I tried to play the first game years ago but couldn't get into it due to its many issues, and I'm one who normally can endure issues just to beat a game.
I still have my PS1 copy of GTA 2 lol
2 is very playable imo the 1st not so much
In GTA Online, they named the racers you can buy for the Arcade after Race'N'Chase!
DMA has one of the coolest logo of any developers ever.
You could tell how damaged the cars were by the sound of the engine.
I never heard of GTA when I was a kid during the PS1 days. To all the gamers that played the original and then going to gta3 on ps2 must have been amazing. To see everything in third person when in the past it was too down. I hope that gta6 is set in london
An awesome review and video as per usual! 😁 👌
Please do your utmost to stay safe out there. 🙏
Cheers mate! 🍻
Do you think of doing Chinatown Wars? Its suprisingly... neat... even if i used it as an music player to just listen to its soundtrack on the bus... has a good soundtrack even if its light earrape.
It’s nice to know people remember this game
I thought San Andreas was the state of California in GTA, and not a city itself.
I remember my brother got this game right before it got banned. Literally played it non stop for a year
I remember getting this game back in the day around the same time as Carmageddon.
So you're telling me that Ohko is better and after 4 straight hours with only like one save is good?
@@someguy8951 yes
@@shortcat ok suit yourself
@@shortcat Infact just get an ohko mod and just don't save every 2-3 hours, problem solved for modern gta games
11:20 is hilarious.
Now this is jump back in time
