Jungkook sang somebody acapella and live in his concert and he sounds the same trust me the fandom was so in shock even critics even accused him of using effects 😂 his range is out of this world
When you hear Somebody live and realize that it was not a vocal affect but he actually changed his vocal to sound like that.. Ugh such a vocal genius.
JK said he tried a lot of vocal techniques and when he worked with different producers it was challenging to learn different pronunciations they wanted. In the behind the scenes video (BangtanTV) you can even see him doing vocal exercises with a straw to continue to improve his voice. If you haven't see his Times Square live performance you should really check it out! It was bitter cold but he nailed it. It was only announced 30 minutes in advance, but fans saw them cleaning the building where it was held and since JK was in NYC, they correctly guessed that he would perform. There were thousands singing along from the street!
The beginning of "Somebody" is indeed Jungkook's voice, and there isn't even any effect on it. He sounds the same live.
It was amazing what he did with his voice at the start of Somebody, he actually sang that part in a Live with nothing so that was completely him

Funny you mention the Ed Sheeran vibes on Yes or no because that's exactly what I said when I first heard it then I realized that Ed Sheeran actually did write it.
The whole album is a banger. Standing next to you is iconic but my favorite song is Hate you. It just does something to me. The way JK is pouring his heart out and conveying his emotions through the song is so beautiful and melancholic at the same time, and yes it's so impressive how he sounds just like a native speaker even though he can't really speak English, but he's such a perfectionist that he pays attention to every single word and it's correct pronunciation.
You should check out his Times Square performance where he performs several songs off of Golden it's so good.

You mentioned how vulnerable JK was with the song"Hate You," but he has stated these are not his experiences. Suga stated on his show Suwichita, "I have met with a lot of musicians outside the company as well, and I think Jungkook’s the most talented musician that I’ve ever seen." I’ve shared this with other musicians, and everyone agrees.”

The album is about different phases in romantic relationship it's not autobiographical according to jungkook. He picked the songs himself to suit the same , the main purpose was to challenge himself and try different vocal techniques

Golden is such a good album from our pop king! Hate you is my favorite song off Golden. It's so sad, but so raw, vulnerable, and beautiful. I mean those vocals!! Also just so you know, none of these songs are based off of real life events for JK. He received all of the songs since it's all in English, so while he picked ones that he loved and fit him and his style, he didn't write them. Thanks for the reaction!

I really think you would love the song Falling originally by Harry Styles, but the JK version. He knocks it out of the park. It came out about 2 years ago. You can tell his english pronunciation has gotten so much better, but his voice was still so wonderful!

First album, but he has singles on BTS albums. He did not write the songs on this one but has many he wrote in BTS albums. He chose songs that go with the love theme. I Loved all of their solo work and cannot wait for Jimins next album and Jins to come.

You are right, the emotions in JK's voice in Hate You makes you really feel the song. As I have said before, this is real talent. Lots of singers can sing and even sing high notes but not deliver. JK doesnot need to sing high, he just let you appreciate the song.
You have to check “ Hate You” at iheart radio live with a band!!! That version just about broke me! It is better than the recording!!!!!

Although JK didn't get to tour he did do a showcase where he performed the album live & let me tell ya some of these live are just magical. It's been uploaded to YT however it'd totally get blocked because it wasn't spouse to be uploaded to YT hehehe but yeah that's one for the Patreon if you want a longer watch. Shot Glass Full of Tears is my favorite track off the album cause I'm a sucker for moody/sad tracks.
My favourite 3 are SNTY, Somebody and Closer to you, but as you said this album is still a masterpiece. Yes , he didn‘t write any song but he picked them up for himself and as others said before he wanted to show himself and us what he is able to do with his massive abilities and his beautiful voice. And his voice itself is remarkable! But the most impressive for me as an older person is the fact that he sings Live as well or better, I know so many celebs who can‘t fulfill that, so great and that he is able to sing and dance without any lack in both!

If you listen to the album in order you will see that it tells a story of a relationship. Start with 3D meeting someone on vr...falling for them and wanting to meet them in person. then you meet them and you want to get closer but all this obstacles get in the way. Then seven explicit...you then get into a very intense physical relationship...next you start having feelings for them and feel loyalty and want to stand by them...snty. So you start to wonder is this love, yes or no. But as you get closer you get paranoid and fear that they will change...please don’t change. But sadly life gets to both of you and you end up breaking up, hate you. Then you go through trying to get over them somebody...but you just end up becoming pathetic and depressed, to sad to dance. But sadly you can’t seem to get over it...shot glass full of tears. You can end the story there but he did have seven clean version. If you take the video it can be the happy ending...he tries to get her back, now promising to love her seven days a week and she gives in! He said it’s not autobiographical and he didn’t write the songs but he chose them and he made an album that is a pop classic! Love it!
Ps: If you want to learn more about their solo chapter and about their solo projects I suggest you react to the suchwita episodes with each of the members. If you don’t know, suchwita is a RUclips talk show hosted by Suga where he chats with a guest while drinking and having a meal. He did this show to give the members a place to talk about their work. It is so amazing and heartwarming...specially having each of the me,bets there. He had other guests, actors, singers and other idols. It’s a great show!

So when any BTS-related album drops I usually put the whole album on my Spotify playlist which I created specifically for streaming new songs. However, I keep it at max 50 songs so that there will be repeats throughout my 8-10 hours at work. But as the members dropped their albums, I would remove the oldest album based on the number of songs of the new album (in order to keep it at 50-ish). It took awhile for Shot Glass of Tears and Somebody to be removed. Standing Next to You is still there (the original version although I do enjoy the Usher remix). These are my favorite 3 songs.
ARMY help me, can JK's showcase in Korea be viewed by the public? Or was it just a one-time you missed if you weren't "there". I loved this showcase because he was so comfortable with ARMY, it was beautiful and he looked happy! Remember when he harmonized with ARMY singing "Too Sad to Dance"? Such a wonderful soul he has. I hope Big Hit plans to show it again at some point.

JK's album is just amazing I love all the songs, he has really become a mega superstar 😍 everytime he remind the people of one of the most famous superstars in pop the king MJ, Justin bieber, Ed, JT, the weekend and Bruno mars can you see the link the man is just a global superstar🥺 and I can't wait 4 his albums in the future he's gonna be number one soon 😭 I Love all of the members and Jungkook is my bias and I love how that I can see all of them in him🥺 but at the same time I can see how individual and unique this human being is💜 he's just so precious 💜💜💜

Hate You - Shawn Mendes is one of the writers. Possibly drew from his breakup with Camila for the song. There's a visualizer vid for this song but the live performance on iheartradio is just so good!

Somebody - we were all shocked and thought there was a feature but it was just him unlocking a new voice. No effects. He sang it live on stage and also live in his kitchen 😊

Fun fact: “Yes or No” was written by Ed Sheeran. I think you can really hear that in the musicality and the punctuation of the lyrics.
There’s a short documentary of JK recording Seven. It’s quite cool. He went to the States for a few days to record it. The guys who wrote and produced Seven also wrote and produced Standing Next To You (Andrew Watt - award winning producer and Canadian producer Cirkut). We get to hear from them too and they have such beautiful things to say about our JK. 🥰

Your interpretation is pretty accurate, JK said in an interview that the whole album is about our relationship, how it starts euphoric and ends up in heartbreak. if you see the entire tracklist and listen to it in order, you can tell it’s about the stages of a new love personally I love this album and I cannot wait to listen to more of his solo work. now I recommend you to listen to one or the entire album of V, it’s called “Layover”.
There is an interview of jhope talking with JK and JK mentions how he wants so try a lot of different genres and focus on singing styles and not writing. He said he wanted to be able to sing songs with emotion that told stories, but they didn't have to be autobiographical. I'm not saying he's never had his heart broken, the guys are very good at keeping any relationships they may have had to themselves, but he did not write any of the songs on "GOLDEN".

JK is the best pop artist in Korea. He also does well among world stars. He is incredibly versatile, technically excellent and has great vocal abilities. His ability to convey emotions is at the highest level. Excellent presence, the ability to establish contact with the audience, charm and charisma are also important. I believe that the path to a great international career is open to him. It's a pity that military service interrupted her. But I'm waiting for JK to come back, because as Suga said, "JK will sing until he's 60."

beyond being a genius vocalist, JK made the best choices possible for these tracks.....choosing each one personally that he wanted to do....he said it would be a waste of time for him to write and compose songs when there are so many good ones already out there that were better than he could make...so he chose amazing songs and put everything into singing and making them his own...
When this first came out, I categorized Hate You and Too Sad To Dance as two different types of breakup, and went around my BTS friends if they were #TeamHateYou or #TeamTooSadToDance based on their own personal history. 😄
