Jungkook chose the songs in the album. He was given songs to listen to and he added the ones he liked on his list. That is why from a mini album it became a full album with 11 tracks. He even recorded 4-5 songs a week. That's how insane his vocals are and the hard work he put in this album.
I watched both halves with you and laughed and cried with you. (Again.) I love this album so much and the way Jungkook carries us on a journey through a relationship from the beginning to end (not HIS relationship specifically. He's made it clear that he's telling a universal story, not an autobiographical one.) Anyway, here's how I see the songs in relation to the story they tell: 💛3D - this is their initial flirtations through texting or video calls, but not yet meeting in person 💛Closer - in person, and a bit of seduction and danger as they tip into the physical relationship 💛Seven (explicit ver) - the absolute high of physical love and burgeoning emotion, at least on his part 💛Standing Next to You - now his emotions have really developed, and it's so much more than a mere physical connection 💛Yes or No - he's full of love, and NEEDS to know if they feel the same, so much that he risks asking directly "what am I to you?" 💛Please Don't Change - he's not sure they're on the same page, as if he can see the writing on the wall that the bubble is about to burst, and he's begging for it not to 💛Hate You - they have split up, not because anyone is a bad person, but just because the relationship wasn't right. And he's still in love and hurting, so he lies to himself to try and make it easier 💛Somebody - this feels like denial of his pain; he wishes them well, but also pretends he's not affected by it anymore 💛Too Sad To Dance - this him trying to numb the pain at first, but then realizing that he needs to let it go and be strong on his own 💛Shot Glass of Tears - he's accepted the loss, and the pain, and the time it takes to fully heal. 💛Seven (clean ver) - he's a bit of a romantic, and hasn't lost that, even through heartbreak. Whether with this same person or the next, he's still longing for enduring love Jungkook's voice is so incredible and he conveys so much emotion in each song that I can't help but get absorbed into the story. Sorry to make this so long, thank you for letting me gush for a moment.
THIS! I love your breakdown 💜💜!! The idea that the clean version of Seven is the actual hopeful ending is so beautiful. It's like a nod to say.. life goes on and we heal and continue forward. Absolutely love that 💜
My favourite after first listen was obviously 'Hate You' but 'Shot Glass oF Tears' hits home. Broken and times' not moving ahead, wounds not healing as if you're stuck in one cold chilly season and it's all because of one person but yet you can't stop loving them. I felt that.
This album is just a progression of a relationship from beginning to end. I think JK has mentioned something like that on Suga’s show, can’t remember the exact quote I love albums like that.
I WAS LITERALLY THINKING ABOUT ED SHEERAN TOO DURING TOO SAD TO DANCE ! Maybe the guitar or also when he said "went to the club" reminding me of "Shape of you" Some songs remind me of that old vibe of Ed Sheeran/Shawn Mendes/Justin Bieber. The whole album is amazing 💜
I believe it is a happy ending since the last track on the album is Seven (clean version). I think he's saying, he's moving on and is going to find another love. If he wanted to end on Shot Glass Of Tears, maybe he could've moved the Seven (clean version) somewhere above in the list to fit in. I don't know, but that's how I interpreted the album :)
The songs are amazing, the lyrics are outstanding, the order is perfect (ending with a reunion)... but it is JK's vocals, his perfect whispered pronunciation, his emotion filled clear notes that are mesmerising, intimate, a musical journey and trye storytelling ie taking you into an emotional rollercoaster of experiences that leaves you touched, changed, grown. What an amazing artist!
This album is truly incredible, but the last song literally made me cry, I think it has become my favorite song, thank you for your reaction (hello from France!)
Really enjoyed your reaction. I just have one little quibble. I feel like people have missed a key piece of the narrative. Shot Glass of Tears is NOT the last song on the album. The clean version of Seven is. The track list is specifically set up to walk you through a story of a relationship. You need to listen to it from start to finish to get the full story. My interpretation is that the couple gets back together at the end. So, the explicit version of Seven represents the stage of the relationship where you are intoxicated with the other person and wrapped up in the physical, hence the f-ing you right. They have an intense period of "I would die for you" feelings (Standing Next to You). Relationship starts to fizzle (Yes or No/Please Don't change) They go through a breakup, which he regrets cause he knows he screwed up (Hate you - Shot Glass Full of Tears). They get back together (Seven clean version) and now he is singing about loving her right (cause he now knows/appreciates what he has and wants to treat hear right). The music video for Seven walks us through those end phases in the relationship. It starts with them having a fight/breaking up, he tries to win her back (repeatedly) and by the end she finally accepts his apology. All of that is to say, take heart there IS a happy ending to this album/love story.
That's an interesting theory as well. We're seeing a couple of people say that they believe the clean version of Seven is the actual ending of this album. To be completely honest with you, we both overlooked that it was the last song on the album because the original version of Seven was already at the beginning. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
This is a superb album pls react to intro of skz album rock star. And docuseries of the album. Also pls react to jimmy fallon performance of jk snty standing next to you and the interview as well and also live radioof standing next to you. Love you guys.❤❤
Thank you 💜💜!! I'm sort of there with you right now on not having a favorite. I literally tired to listen to the album at work yesterday and got so distracted by the music that ... I couldn't work until I turned it off. The entire album is so good it demands all of my attention 😆
Hate You also had me in tears, in fact there isn't one song on the album that I would skip. You might have just ruined "Somebody" for me. It's a great song but I think of Monty Python and Coconuts and start laughing.

Hate you is a masterpiece. Deserves a lot more love unironically :(
We’re giving it all our love, that’s for sure!

The hard work paid off because this is such a breathtaking album 💜
His album has a story revolving around love.
Falling in love~being in love~ then falling out of love.
Incredible
This Golden boy really make us cry what a touching song just love him sooo much!

I love albums like that.
They did a great job because the message really comes across so clearly and it resonates so well.
너무 아름다운노래에요.
슬픈감성을 너무 잘 표현한 명곡 인듯요.쿠키의 표현력 최고 . 노래완전 좋네요.

OMG YES! That line is what got me too! I also thought of Justin Bieber as well, but forgot to say it. 😂

Hello & sending love to you in France ❤️❤️ I have listened to the last song several times and get emotional every time 😭
정국 이라고 말하는 발음이 너무 정확하고 자연스러워요
진짜 한국인 발음 이어서 놀랐네요
감사합니다 ❤️
Hate You was written by Shawn Mendes and Scott Harris
