I grew up listening to the ABB, like many was blown away when Duane passed and was moved by their commitment to continue on after a while. Not just classic rock or southern rock, it's great music done exceedingly well. Nice to see the next generation moving on with a nod to the past. Best of luck guys, stay true to yourselves and you'll be fine.
It’s great my generation gets to experience the great music yours did through these gentlemen I was blown away when I seen they formed a band. Such great chemistry
Such a great interview. So many gems in this interview (“the band plays the song not the instrument”, rock and roll is underground now which is a good thing”, “the sex is still good”, “thinking is the enemy”). Devon & Duane are both extremely talkative here. Great conversational interview like the three are just hanging out. Duane is usually quiet and will add his thoughts in strategically. Here Duane is very open. Gotta say I love Duane’s style overall. Cool dude. Enjoy how the interviewer ask questions related to songs on their album. I was fortunate to see them in Greensboro NC month ago. Anticipate the next album and them in person again. Keep the faith guys and keep playing!
i know about the healing power of music. i have cronic back pain and when i get to a good concert i feel the pain melt away. this is a great interview. like many commenting ive loved allmans a long time
I loved this interview! Lea did a great job with her question choices. And devon and duane gave alot of insight to themselves.......just as I thought, they are genuinly beautiful souls!
Your senseless broaching of Trump ruined the interview. No one wants to be subjected to your pandering, PC view on society, politics and propriety. How the hell was Trump germane to the topic of musical expression? Personally I despise Trump but certainly not because Obama, Biden or Clinton (or any other damn president - aka gangster) are his moral or deontological superiors. The whole lot of them can run off a cliff without a parachute. Could you be any more predictable, presumptuous or spineless? Stay in your lane and stop following the sheepish clones of the world into mental oblivion.
Great interview. Devon Allman is a very intelligent individual - reminiscent of Duane Allman. Very raw insightful dialogue. I think these guys have a bright future and will remain true to themselves. I look forward to the new album.
I dig the "hippy-dippy" notion of art, in all its forms, being able to do good works in the world. So glad the Allman - Betts band exists! Seeing them recently in Orlando confirmed that notion - So great
People are entitled to their opinions (no matter how ignorant, sanctimonious or groundless) but that doesn’t make it any less boorish to broach those opinions when they have absolutely no bearing on the subject at hand. Grandstanding becomes no one.
@@devonallman6683 i want to believe it, but i cant because bc people do this all the time.... So if you are Devon Allman... , incorporate blue eyes, into the blue skys song next live show & let me know
Great interview! I am definitely going to check their band out! At first glance, I think that Devon Allman looks a lot like his uncle! Also, Duane Betts has great teeth!
The picture at 00:43 is the picture (I think it was at Fillmore East) that was taken after Duane made a drug deal from his Juji (heroin) dealer. The story goes that the photographer Jim Marshall was having a hard time getting the shots he wanted so they stacked the gear up on the wall well bout the time they started to photograph Jim Marshall was pissed and wanted to know why they was laughing, in all in all its a great story. I miss these guys so much. I am 50 now and had seen Greg more than a couple dozen times and never heard a bad set other than 1 time in the late 80s when they were changing around musicians.
Very cool interview minus the Trump jab lol. What we want to know as well is what's up with coming to Springfield Missouri for a show? Lookin forward to seeing Y'all
Trump is horrid but I agree that most of his detractors (including this ninny interviewer) are mindless goofball NPC’s who worship at the alter of political correctness and take their orders from whatever narrative happens to prevail at a given time (via the media, Hollywood, etc). That said, there are legitimate reasons for actual conservatives, libertarians and traditionalists to loathe Trump. He was never the swamp drainer his fanbase wished he was...to say the least. Nice pic by the way. Deo Vindice!
Why can't we do anything about wars or how we treat people? Of course we can, that's how they're stopped and always have been stopped, and things have improved, it takes organization and dedication and work...around minute 14
If you want to treat people humanely then start by not advocating that they be expropriated and ruled over by complete strangers who they despise (state functionaries). Whether that be a Trump or a Biden or a Bush or a Clinton or any of their acolytes. Stop advocating incipient aggression by renaming it politics. Promulgate a voluntary and culturally homogeneous society. Stop asking the state to do to others what you would never do directly. It’s that simple. A stateless society or varying flavors and degrees of collectivistic totalitarianism and slavery. It’s up to you.
I think the days of music healing are always here but I don't think anyone cares much about music healing countries and political divide etc. People are now too crazy and divisive on everything. You're for war or for peace. You are for freedom or for restrictive socialism. It's your choice. To live and breathe and earn money or to be perpetually bound to handouts paid for by taxpayers. Music can't fix it.
The state is the problem. Positive law is a criminal enterprise. As Tolkien noted: “Men are not fit to boss other men and least of all those who seek the opportunity.” Or as Frank Herbert said: “It’s not that power corrupts but that power is irresistible, indeed magnetic to the corruptible.” As long as we continue to believe that these crooked, rapacious, ruthless criminal bodies (nation state politicians) have a legitimate right to exercise power over complete strangers the world will continue to darken.
She’s a ninny. Just another mindless NPC feigning humanitarianism by aligning her self with the safest imaginable political position. Ooh you hate Trump, how daring and brave. These zombied dopes are a dime a dozen. Mind you, that’s coming from someone who dislikes Trump immensely.
@@MaximusWolfe I’m not the biggest fan of Trump either (although he’d be better than the absolute scatterbrain we have now) but the whole false sense of edginess is old. They always have to insert something anti trump. I love how Duane and Devon handled that question. They didn’t laugh, frown, grin. They just steered away from the question and kept the interview going slowly after that “illustrious” interviewer crammed in some liberal jibber jabber.
@@jamlive6650 Yeah, but to me comparing Trump to Biden (or whatever president you can think of) is akin to comparing dung to trash. That is, no dignified person would be made to deliberate between the two and say “that is better than the other, give me that.” The simple fact is that we don’t need presidents of any stripe, at all. The truest expression of human creative majesty is the worship of God (taking what God created and presenting it back to Him in a beautified form, i.e. sacramental expression). If music can achieve that by expressing the human (Adamic) condition then it is holy - if it cannot then it is worthless except in the most superfluous, sublunary, desolate sense. Hopefully these two will appreciate that idea and act (create) accordingly.
