There's something about that studio. I've passed it a thousand times over the years and I always look at it with wonder. A former casket factory across the street from a cemetery drew the Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Glenn Frey, Joe Cocker, Traffic and on and on and on and on.....
Love when Devon is using his own voice -- doesn't sound like anyone - it's his own style which is the best. Love Devon's real voice -- "Down to the River".
I love Down to the River. Devon does have his own style and voice. If you've ever seen a photo of him with his Mom, he looks a lot like her and his Uncle Duane.
Duane did sing. He sounded like this: ruclips.net/video/QkFOBZRAbMU/видео.html, ruclips.net/video/vieQAhuqyl0/видео.html, ruclips.net/video/IOWC3a0Vw7M/видео.html
Yeah, he did sing, wasnt the best singer: loan me dime, happily married man. If he REALLY sang, i mean worked on it, like his brother, he would have sounded like Devon.
Duane Allman couldn't sing worth a shit. That's why he RARELY sang. When he did, it was always a simple song without a lot of pitch changes. Actually, some of the stuff he sings is bad. I mean bad. Tell you what, you wanna hear a song sung by Duane that will make you cry, cry, cry? Give his version of Goin' Down Slow a listen. That's as good as it ever got with Duane on vocals. On the other hand, guitar playing was another story.
@@obbor4 Right. This is why the singing was to Gregg and Dickey. His guitar playing still gives me chills and can bring me to tears at times as Gregg and Dickey;s voice do. Duane's make me want to drink more
Stones songs are much easier to play. Three chords and limited vocal range. That said, they would be number two on my list of favorite bands. Probably their own as well...
Yeah nice guys, but musically that would make me yawn. I want to like a lot of these modern bands, but they just have no energy - no magic in the air. When you listen to the Grateful Dead you hear the magic, when you listen to the Pistols or Sabbath you hear rock and fucking roll, and the Stones, and when you listen to the Kinks or The Beatles you're hearing excitement, a buzz!. And if music doesn't thrill you like that with sound and lyrics then what's the point?.
Don't agree. They are doing this acoustic live. Sounds like some fresh new southern rock on the way! Not fair to compare this live acoustic show to those iconic bands you listed. This will be Allman Betts first record.
Nor do I agree, I really enjoyed it. Heart full of soul, If your yawning to that its probably time for someone to take a nap, or booze snooze. Sorry I had to . To each their own I guess, keep em rolling Brothers & Sisters alikep
well since they play different instruments, not sure how you decide this...lol...have you seen them live? great show! devon has more stage presence than his father ever did, more personality...greg always seemed to be shy, hiding behind his keyboards, not that he wasn't great & won't be missed.
@@dsayless1509 Duane and Dickey play the same instrument. Devon sings and plays guitar. Gregg often sang and played guitar. Greg had the best stage presence of anyone but maybe Robert Plant.
