This is my first Spoonbill chick experience. It's interesting how the little eats first and holds back the older siblings. I also think it's cool that the way they eat reminds me of Morning Dove chick feedings.
This was my first experience with spoonbill chicks as well. I loved every minute of it, especially while watching the aggressive smaller chick get all the food! I hadn't seen that before...usually there's a "pecking order" and the biggest and strongest get food first. I havn't watched mourning dove chick feedings, but what a neat experience that must have been for you. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great day!
That's a wild place! You get 5 gold stars for enduring all that noise 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The spoonbils are gorgeous birds, I love the pink colour. The babies are cute but aggressive. I hope they don't get mom down, they might eat her! The egrets are beautiful too, and the fuzzy babies are adorable. Thank you for braving the alligators and all that noise for another wonderful video! 🐊🐊🐊😊
It really is a wild place! It was actually pretty amazing to hear all the bird sounds and the gator sounds together. The babies can get very aggressive, but I think the moms and dads are used to it and just escape when necessary. I loved happening upon those teeny tiny egret babies…until I put this video together I hadn’t realized there were 3 little ones! I had only seen 2 before. You have to look closely when one of the little ones lifts its wings. 🥰 So glad you enjoyed the video! Have a great day!
Pretty fancy hairdos on those little egrets. Looks limited on how those spoon bills can get food. Definitely not spearing it. Would be handy in a bowl of soup I guess. Nice mini documentaries
Thanks Frank! Those egrets are too funny - their sounds and movements. They remind me of great blues with all their squawking! Roseate spoonbills have a different approach than spearing for getting fish and crustaceans. They sweep their bills super quickly through water grabbing what comes close. Reminds me more of wood storks.
