that two young girl you give fried chicken will not forget your kindness man...
Mergim the saleslady said LAPIT not rabbit means come closer.
I like this type of vlogging, Mergim...you connect more with locals along with your authentic narration of your content....this is more sincere, raw, and engaging. ...you have a knack of discovering new places that elicit more interested viewers...your generosity of giving/ sharing foods for free to children is commendable...way to go Mergim....this video makes you more likable as a vlogger. God bless...pls vlog more....❤❤❤❤
Mergim you are absolutely an excellent narrator to the Philippine forgotten places sometimes thank you so much god bless
Really glad you bought the kids some food. Salute.
Not too far from Quiapo is the oldest University of the land. The University of Sto. Tomas. Also visit the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman Quezon City.
What a nice vlog Mergim. It's so nice when you interact with the local, and don't rush the interaction. You know us Pinoys, we need a couple of seconds before we can respond to your question in a non-fatal (aka nosebleed-inducing) English! hahaha. It also helps that you are now more familiar with the local language and intonation. Less panicky, on the part of the locals, more genuine and relaxed exchange. Enjoy!!!
The squidgy bits is the gulaman (jelly) probably flavoured jelly usually they put it in the drink like sago in bubble tea 🧋🧋🧋
That looks like a 10/10 palabok & sotanghon! Another good one is from Via Mare resto which you probably have in BGC. So glad a vlogger tried this noodle dish and likes it 😋 Try lugaw or arroz caldo next time 🍲
Mergim knows which Filipino dishes to try 👍
This Quiapo?! Wow! I hardly recognize this place even though i lived and study there. What a change indeed!
The orange sauce is made of chicken or shrimp stock and the orange color is natural food color that came from the annatto seed or locally known as atsuete.
When you give tip to the duckie toy vendor you remind me of Davud the Azerbaijan vlogger who in my opinion is a very generous n super effective and engaging vlogger.
I love Davud!
There is no wonder that his subscriber base is going up fast. He is generous to the people he interacts with. Interacting with the people will really make the people more interested in the vlogger.
That dish that you saw as you were leaving the palabok place are not noodles. It's called "lugaw", similar to congee.
So cute that bby duck with sun glasses wow love that
I think connecting with the locals is ALWAYS key to a great video!
Those ducks are too cute! That key ring withcompass is great! And of course, the chairman cannot be seen sweating walking around metro Manila! Too-cool 😎 for that 👍🏼
The best foreign vlogger in Manila.
I like this content very much bro! Your generous and you also like a pinoy all the way who makes tawad hehe...and for that no skipping of advertising! 🙏🤙🇵🇭
Gulaman is the Filipino term for Agar-Agar which is the seaweed that produces vegan jelly. The squishy "invisible" things ARE the gulaman. :) Usually it's colored. But with magic water, they keep it uncolored so it becomes invisible... hence Magic Water! hahahaha love that so much.
Oh yes, I got to try this during my visit. It was so refreshing! I visited in April, and the heat was almost unbearable, but gulaman made it much better. The friendly locals also helped make the experience worth it. I shared my experiences on my channel.🇵🇭
Love the “free taste” of the labuyo!😂😂😂
Ahahahahahhaha😂😂😂😂😂😅
The powdery texture in palabok are mix grounded chicharon and flake smoke fish locally called tinapa.
Filipinos love it when you connect with locals. It makes you relatable. Love your videos.
I still remember the last time Mergim was in Quiapo when he witness a Pickpocket got caught by the police. It was intense!
she did not call you a rabbit. she said, lapit meaning "come nearer for the photo"
Mergim you're so cute with the ducky clip on your cap😍 love this vlog... keep 'em coming 👍❤🇵🇭
Quack! quack! Nice to see you again dude!
It's pork/shrimp sauce that's in palabok, Mergim, and you are right, better to mix everything up, it looked tastier than the one you ate in Manam restaurant.
remeniscing college days..i love quiapo😊❤
*_17:57_**_ sounds like rabbit but its actually LAPIT means come closer!_*
😂😂😂😂
i was there 2 days ago. i almost meet u in person. i ate pancit at the vegetable market street you passed through. i see you passed through the delicacies where i ate ang bought sweets. awesome
you make us proud Mergim... you know how to deal prices already. you adopt our culture !
wow kuya MERGS you so good to tagalog now ❤❤❤
80 peso for that delicous meal looks so good! cant wait to go back
Friday is the busiest there, that is the day for Black Nazarene. Friday also is when a lot people seek fotunetellers who abound the area. The candles have meanings according to color. They also sell amulets, charms, and lots of natiral herbal roots and leaves for all types of ailements.
Every now and then I go to Quiapo to look around because there are so many interesting items at cheap prices, and you can't even find a lot of these items even in the malls and dept stores. I remember when I was a child and my mom would walk around Quiapo while I tag along her side, and my eyes were very busy looking around mostly for toys. Quiapo is part of my life and memories.
the color in Palabok is from Achuete seeds, also known as annatto seeds.
There's white gulaman in your drink, that's why it's called white gulaman. There's also black gulaman that you can get in Master Siomai. Both are the same thing. It's not just water and sugar, there's also gulaman.
You should go to Batang Quiapo during traslacion and you will see the sea of humanity like you've never seen before.
Love this vlog mergim! ❤❤❤ thanks for taking us around! And that palabok is really delicious!💖
Keep vlogging meegim
used to hangout there and surrounding areas when i was in college...lots have changed except for the church! awesome!
Files like Thailand also so much a lot of fun
Your up to date now on what's trending.. 😝😜😅😂😂👍
Wow looks yummy pansit palabok
I am scared for you waving that clip of cash around in Quiapo lol. Last time I was there (10 years ago) I got followed around the place by possible pick pockets, until I went inside a store to make them stop.
Exactly what I was saying
Quack Quack........ loving it.
Hmmmm Pancit Palabok sooo masarap talaga.Enjoy Mergim 😊😂😅.
There's s ferry from Guadalupe Station to Quinta Market in Quiapo.
The cute duckling looks a little like you in a cute way. Kekeke.
Watching this made me want to plan another trip to the Philippines! I explored Salcedo and legaspi markets but missed out on Quiapo. The street food looked delicious, and the locals were very engaging. I shared my experiences on my channel and will definitely visit Quiapo next time!🇵🇭
That variety of 🌶 pepper is spicier than the big one you having tried to your previous video, that kind of chili was called siling labuyo small but terrible in spicy.
Little ducks so cute 😅😁 especially the one having sun glass hahaha. Anyways nice documentation 👏👏
Wow mergim, I'm hungry now, watching you eating pancit malabon. Next week i will go there that restaurant, pancit malabon is so yummy... always take care mergim... I'm your subscriber....and I'm always watching your vlog in you tube...God bless you
Mergrim knows how to do Bargaining Lolz.
Çhairman no girlfriend no problem hahaha ..you're right😅
Wow! You sound local bro you know where to go!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Always fun video
I like it
Cute with sunglass
As a kid, i was once a believer of a black nazarine and do what catholic do like what you said, wipe the handkerchief to the black figure. At 23 I changed my religion to the Church of Christ.
Philippines is a nice place to. Live
gulaman is jelly in english. They have jelly added on your drinks that is why there is squidqy thing.
Have not been to Quiapo for yonks. Missing it. Stay safe in that area, Mergim. Your wallet especially 😊😃
Mergim good job haggling and taking the train 💙 You only had palabok. Wanted to see if you could eat like Roaming Hogan.
Jollibee started their restaurant in quiapo. It’s just a small canteen and their specialty is spaghetti. My sister took me there because during our time, there’s no mall, shopping is done in carriedo near quiapo. It’s all department stores.
Try also to make a vlog about "Pegasus" club, I'm sure you will definitely enjoy it there!
Great Video
Cute duckling!
The mahic water has sugsr &. Banana essence....
Chilli in bicol is smaller than any chilli and its more hot , usually use in Bicol Express
Bicol express from bicol
Pork ,coconut milk chilli
Yeah, he had that one in Bicol.
Your videos are very entertaining. 😊
Yes Mergim, rent a sea doo and go up the Pasig with it, lol...that would be sick!
you should have also ridden the Pasig River ferry from Manila to Taytay, Rizal The station is right in Quinta Market.
the orange sauce is from the achuete seeds
Good vlog.
I like the way you do your vlogs when you give a brief backgrounder of the location you are in. Just shows that you do a bit of research. By the way, the orange coloring in your palabok is from the atsuete or the anato seeds. Good iob Chairman!
Agree!
Awesome 🤙
I like your duck, man, COOL!
Cute duck!😍🤙🏻
The Nazarene is sought not so much for luck and prosperity but for healing.
Not Rabbit, It's lapit means "come closer". because she wanted to take picture near you.
Lapit - Rabbit 😅
Lil Bit - Libit 😅
Adjust to neutral sound Filipino English accent. Hahaha
Next stop LRT BACLARAN STATION it's like Quiapo market too with a Famous church
next time you may go to Raon St at the other side/back of the church (just few blocks from where you went). There you can find the electronics section & where all the sounds & lights are being assembled or repaired, including assembly of karaokes with big sound boxes... Just be prepared for the deafening sounds blasting from store to store!!
Palabok in Quinta Market under the Quezon Bridge is the best...
try pastora palabok nextime beside dada
I love your videos ❤
Didn't you stop over Donsol in Sorsogon? You were already in Bicol anyway
We love da content brother
Quiapo!!!
Filipinos are known to be active Facebook users.
You should try Beth's palabok in Sta Ana Manila. It would give the one you tasted in Quiapo a run for their money. 😊🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭♥️
We still love you, duck and all! (no pun intended)
Hey,mergin. Summer season is starting. Explore the waterfalls or water fun activities her in luzon area or some provinces😊
Mergrim try visit the stairway to heaven in Cagdianao in Dinagat Islands.
Kita ko dito, looking ma savory ang pancit palabok hindi katulad sa bland na sa jolibee 😋
Since you’re in Manila now Mergim, you should try going to Cartimar Pet Center. Pinoys are pet lovers and no foreigner has ever vlogged about it. There’s also some parts of Cartimar where they sell branded sneakers.
I think he had been in Cartimar before. He bought himself a bird named Peso.
@@r2kin2philswhere is peso now? I commented asking about peso before ang mergim didn't answer 😕
Ok. We just watched his video titled, “Meet my new companion in the Philippines”.
I supposed Peso did not make it.
Why is yellow duckling clip a 'thing' nowadays in Philippines? I have seen it everywhere.
Gulaman is Gelatine or jello with flavouring in Magic water bruh.
You should have tatsted the hams at the ham factory there, also the yummy hot "hopia" at the hopia factory beside it. The little ones are the yummiest.
Noice!
Mergim, You are now the new Brit. Batang Quiapo......
Chinatown,Binondo,Quaipo,Divisoria is they much more cheaper items there compare to shopping malls in metro manila so many locals, foreigners, reseller, business people go there and get there supplies there to sell on there own shop, space or store
please visit parqal the new mall in Parañaque Pasay area
visit Malabon hve a food crawl there.. do research ahead first.. but do not miss Judy Ann Crispy Pata of Malabon that would be your best crispy pata in the metro
