Sehr gute und informative Videoserie, lieber Bernd. Ich bin ja ein X-ler der ersten Stunde (als es noch Spiele in dicken Schachteln gab), hab bei Rebirth ein wenig meinen Glauben verloren, aber mit X4 ist euch wieder etwas richtig Großes gelungen. Bin gespannt was da noch alles kommt.

I bought the game + DLCs like a week ago. I cant stress enought how excited I am and how cool it looks everything. I honestly think is far far ahead of any other space game for what I have researched. I was about buying any space game but none of them was appealing to me because I felt them "big but shallow" and I was convinced I would get bored. In those I saw effort in graphics and in creating thousands of (dead) plantes. In the other hand, I find this x4 to be deep, live and genious and I just wanted to congratulate the developers. In this game the players has an impact in the enviroment. And thats the key difference that makes this game unique and appealing to me. I think the menus should be more "aesthetic" but other than that I truly see a huge huge game. Here you have a new fan!!
Thank you, This is very useful. It helps me get into the right mindset for the game, what is possilbe and what I should look out for. I picture games having depth like a pool, but if I hit a metaphorical wall where i cannot penetrate deeper because I am lost and frustrated the de facto depth becomes much shallower. So thank you,

This is a great series of videos, really inspiring me to get back in the game. I pre-ordered the CE back before the game released and played for a while directly following the release but ultimately shelved it until it could mature a little bit more. Now that the Split dlc is out and it's had a bunch of updates I'm eager to give it another try.
Thank you for the greater set of tutorial. Visual and easy to understand. Wish all company have good health and make the game more bigger and more details.
Love these series, even learn a thing or two...really like the direction X4 foundation is going, hope you keep adding content a refining the ai as you already did. Loving the game with the expansion! Mind adding more mid-ranged ships? Like the M7 frigates and M7M missile frigates of X3. The frigates we have now seem more like corvettes.
I do miss having a dedicated Property screen like in X:R. The map is good, sure, but it also kills performance for some reason. Drops my FPS by a consistent 5-15, usually on the higher end in later-game. It also doesn't give me a whole lot of information on each thing (such as orders, cargo, etc) unless I select and/or go into the Info screen. And checking several ships or an entire fleet in a row? Takes forever.
i know right? same thing here. i mean you could always shift and click every ship one by one, easier to figure out , but dragging a box while shifting.. yea..
Having to hold shift to drag a box around units to select multiple of them is not intuitive. Also would be nice, if supply ships could resupply ships with missiles, which currently doesn't work
Someday maybe you will tell the xenon I to go away with your own battleship... right now only a fully modded raptor with some fighters can really pose a real challenge to that ship.
@@Lunethia they basically are huge Xenon carriers that come with whole Xenon P, M, N fleets and literally wreck whole sectors... most often accompanied by K destroyers.... fun :P
Is there a setting, somewhere, where all factions are colored the same way as in this video ? I am surprised to see that not only the sector has a color, but all the ships & stations. It looks very nice ! How can I achieve that ?

Can we have more performance optimizations for huge fleet battles? Making textures disappear and having the ship lod reduced to a flying polygon is really immersion breaking..
Thats strange! I have a core i7 extreme with a gtx 1080 ti, 64 GB of ram, I'm running a battle with more than 200 ships, no problem so far! Yes there is a bit of slow down but there are no artiftacs on the textures of geometry glitches.

Order queue and context map menu bit strange. Usually, in strategy games like starcraft right-click order clear all previous orders. And shift-click makes it store on top of orders queue. So every time I need to do something I need clear all orders of ships. Can you at least add shift-click to remove all previous orders?
you just right click the ship itself on the map and have two options. clear all orders or clear orders and assignments (for example if it designated as a subordinate). you can also use the up and down arrows to prioritise the orders. think this is what you mean?
X4 Foundations is the best X series game ever. I spent few thousands hours in X2 The Threat, looks like I will spent more in X4. I love this game, thank you very much Egosoft.

Why is it, that when I drag a box around my fleet, that they all get selected, but after some seconds just a bunch of them are still selected and the rest gets deselected?
Would you please show a video where you can see a fleet of yours killing some NPC ship? is that possible in this game? The last time I tries no Ship I commanded to attack was able to destroy any enemy ship, they where like zombies running across the space taking damage from smaller ships and not destroying nothing.
Can anyone tell me, has the game improved in terms of fleet combat? Is there enough threat in the universe or it's still the same tranquil place with occasional hostile spawns? Any reason to build a military corporation with huge fleets?
If you use Steam, make a full backup of the saves and if you have it registered download the no-Steam client from the official website. You will lose achievements but I found the client works much much better.
@@PT-rg2vo Really? Maybe they should add a non drm version to steam, that you can launch it without the client to open, if they maybe did'nt already do it that way, so we could still use the workshop in a conveniant way, but don't have to rely on steam
What's the benefit if I set illegal wares? Will my police collect it and kinda "legally" rob npcs crossing my sectors? Are my own ships exempt from this? :D And what's next video if this was 6 out of 6? Not that I'd mind getting more.. just curious. Last thought: one map to rule them all? Quick! Get a huge ass eagle, fly over a volcano and ditch the map into it! Just don't walk there - that would take like... forever?
Strategy is trying to defend your property in TEL/MIN space from ARG/HAT attackers because TEL/MIN will get bloody mad if you try to defend your stuff there, or protecting your property in ZYA/FRF space from TEL/MIN attackers. Even though it makes no sense when they are the ones attacking. And focusing on combat for your entire game because otherwise the horribly unbalanced Split economy will get steamrolled by Xenon before you even get the chance to play the new plots.
Der Grind für bessere Piloten ist ein bisschen sehr absurd. Ich hab heute nach 110h meinen ersten 3-Sterner und damit etwas besseren Auto-Miner... Direkt anzuwerben sind sie viel zu selten und dann viel zu teuer. Die kompletten Formationen sind deshalb auch im Prinzip nutzlos. Man hat ja niemals so viele gute Piloten. Wenn man von X3 kommt und ganz Autotrade Flotten hatte, ist das schon ein extremer Wechsel... Und jeden einzelnen Händler immer manuell 10 Handelsbefehle zu geben wird mit der Zeit auch lästig - und das schon wenn man auch nur eine kleine einstellige Anzahl hat. ich hab erst vor kurzem meine erste Station gebaut (was ich definitiv früher hätte machen sollen), weil die wirft ja ungleich schneller Geld ab (zumindest gefühlt)^^
i still hate the way orders are given and how the ai fails to do simple tasks. further its unbearable to manage your fleets. pls fix i want to love this game. fighters getting stuck in the internal storage because of weird drone interactions and multiple fighters getting stuck while docking on a carryer drive me crazy. additionaly i rather have ai ships straight noclip through objects then trying to avoid collisions and fail at it anyway.
Guess you guys are too cool to bring your OSTs to gog, can't even be bothered to properly display the differences between editions with a grid like every other dev.
They are a small team and have to set priorities, right now its about the stuff you can do in Space with the whole economy around it, my guess is, this takes a big amount of budget and time, to add planet landing, if they still want to provide the same features they deliver right now.
Series of 6 useless videos. Old guys are so boring. This game is a perfect example what happend when devs in their life played only in Space rangers and TES:Oblivion. Game idea 10/10. Music -10/10, UI - 1/10. AI -4/10 (facepalm), Game economy - 9/10, Strategy -1/10. Even in chess you have more actions and no need to use PAUSE all time. All hope on updates. Perfect game idea, but currently game like pile of logs

400hrs of game-time wishing i could click and drag box to select a group of ships only to realize it was there all along

You can do whatever you want to do in this universe, until a Xenon I shows up.

This sounds like your graphic card is running out of memory potentially? How much dedicated memory does it have?

How do you get all these faction colors showing on the map? For me its only Green(own), Blue(neutral/ally), Red(enemy).
there is a filter on the map options. open your map up and its top right button.

In 2 weeks of playing I never saw escort ships to defend traders. All they do is drag behind a whole sector away.

Pilot don't give expirience, only seminars level up. It's Very bad for autotraiding and other 3 Stars functions
