I do the “check in, check out” thing often. I actually just tell the person I check in with that we added another night later on and ask to stay in the same room. It’s easier for me and the hotel doesn’t have to churn the room. Anyways, I’ve never had an issue getting the credits. I’ve done it three night in a row before.
Yess I’ve been waiting so long for this!
Love this video Ben! My wife just referred me to the Venture X and I referred her to the Sapphire Perferred when it was 80k points. 15k points from chase but a whopping 25k points for her from Capital One
Loved this video. There’s so much power in being able to play in player 2 mode. I just need to get my player 2 more involved because she is definitely not into credit cards as much as me haha. Maybe I’ll show her this video 😉
I’ve earned a ton of points via my wife and I referring eachother to all the chase freedom cards. Works both ways so once one person refers, the other person can refer back for the next card and so forth.
Also referred her to the sapphire preferred.
0:31 Those "travel buddies" are goals. I love the video you chose for that!
Thanks for this cool thing bro!
Great info. 🤙🏼 TY.
Joint finances is BEAST mode.
Thank you
Me and my partner tend to travel pretty light (simple duffle bag) and often rent a vehicle.
It would be nothing to wake up, toss everything in our duffle bags, check out and start our day only to return that evening to check back in. At first she'd be wary, but mentioning the $100 credit twice, and I'm sure she'd immediately be down for it.
I would do the the check out and check in method even if I had kids with me. Because Amex gives late check out and early check in either me or my wife would stay in the room with the kid(s) while the other goss down to the front desk to check in to the new room. At that point we can use the overlapping hours to pack and roll our luggage to the new room
Great video! Do you happen to know if Capital One Venture X Miles can be pooled together? Or if when booking flights, would my spouse and I have to book our own tickets separately under our own frequent flyer accounts?
Having a player 2 to do referrals + extra points combined in general is a great way to do more travel for free!
I'm going to wait for Amex to offer a Hilton upgrade. It really should have 4x back on all purchases. Marriott needs to negotiate their points program. For instance: if you have a 50K free night just call the hotel directly and haggle the 60K Opryland Hotel 🛍️.
Super thorough but how do you pool? Call? Online?
Ben you should do a video on wyndham business card.
Im going to b doing that “checking out then checking back in thing” in dc next month. Im going to b by myself so its not a big deal for me. Plus its free drinks, i mean $100 credit😉
If the bookings are back to back in the same name, it doesn’t work.
@@rene.s.s i would book the first night under my player 2’s name whose a AU on my vanilla platinum and book the second night under my name on my CS platinum card
She would have to b with me to check in but she can leave right after😂 that way i also dont have to pay for expensive parking👌🏾 (technically its my player 3) (little sister)
12:35 does this need to be two actual separate cards? Or can one of them be an AU card?
Hello. I enjoyed all your videos. Which US credit card gives the most miles or cash for a 1 way flight from US to Japan (any class including economy)? Thanks.
Amex platinum. Or csr or venture x if you book through their portal
If I book the 1st night with Amex Platinum and my authorized user book the 2nd night, aren’t these considered separate bookings? The authorized user can use early noon check in to get the 2nd room first, while I do late 4pm checkout for the 1st room, then just move our things to the 2nd room by 4pm.
Thats true you could overlap the bookings
Im young so ill try the checkout method CHEERS
Wyndham business card is a great card. Went to cheyenne frontier days in Wyoming paid 13.5k instead of $400-$500 every hotel was charging.
Love that card! I used my bonus points for 5 nights in Maui at a Vacasa. 67,500 points instead of $3,500.
The 2 player game is great for a short term huge boost in sign up points but is it possible to keep this game going in the long term? Eventually, you’ll have exhausted all your possibilities with signup bonuses - you can’t open 3-4 new cards every year as you’ll max out your revolving accounts. So, how do you keep this game going? Do you start closing cards out to reapply for the bonuses so that you’re in a sort of revolving situation of closing then opening? Otherwise, this strategy is good for 3-4 years and then you’re just back to earning by spending only.
Yes you can reapply for some cards, like Chase sapphire after 48 months and get a bonus again, but also pooling points from general spending is good too
When you mentioned about the amex $200 credit for hotel, did u mean the authorize user or your partner have another amex card on her own?
Hotel credit needs to be a premiere hotel, not just any hotel.
You have Mrs SF and 2 SF-girls so not easy to check in-n-out (like AskS did 😄) but I imagine most couples will do! 😄
Oh sebby did that?
@@TheCreditShifu
Sorry but perhaps I compared Apple to orange but watch his “$46 for $1K “ in Vegas.
They booked 1+1 = 2 nights and was upgraded to a $1K suite the 2nd night so of course changed room!
Sorry but actually Sebby did NOT do what u said. I can REMOVE my comment if u prefer! 抱歉了!🙏
When you use the $200 hotel credit, did you book a total of four nights so you each earn $200 or did you book 2 nights under both names and earn the $200 that way?
With FHR you don't have to book 2 nights, you can book 1 night and get the credit. HC requires 2 nights for the credit and any benefits. But yeah book nights on different cards and you each get the credit, when you check in you can just explain you have separate bookings for the same room type and you should be able to keep the same room.
Too bad the Amex AU for children has to be at least 13. Beginning next February, I can’t take all of my children into the lounge until they all are 13 and up. It’s just 3 more years until then but, really, my pre-teens love the Centurion Lounge as much as me.
When i go there now, they say the kids dont count as guests. I often bring in 4 ppl on one card. Should only be 3
@@TheCreditShifu Nice! That’s never happened for me. They always ask for 2 Platinums for our family of 5. What about the February 2023 rule?
Nice nice nice
That would be a such a game changer for building up points and benefits.
"travel buddy"
Ben at the MGM rewards desk as them to combine you and your wifes account. She will get a gold MLife card. Once her account updates to that then she can match to Hyatt.
My wifes hadn’t updated fast enough. So when my wife showed the concierge her gold card they updated her account. Then she matched to explorist
Great tip
I might.
