THIS is why I love the credit card game. I feel like I say that often these days, but videos like this are what made me get into credit cards in the first place. The ability to make once-in-a-lifetime trips with your family completely funded by credit card points is what it's all about.
Thank you, Ben ! I really appreciate your advice .
Great Video! So excited to hear all the great trips you have taken. I’m newer to the game and I’m so excited to start booking trips with the points I have already earned!
I'm only 2 years into the points and miles game, and I've been able to get some domestic travel pretty much for free. Can't wait to see what the next years might bring for more aspirational travel. Cheers from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Love the videos Ben! Information and tips are always top notch!
Great content. Easy to follow explanations. Thanks!
When I heard this video was brought to you by Dave, I immediately laughed & thought - Dave Ramsey? 😂
Your channel made me Professional in Miles and points. Thanks
Very useful video. I would have loved to see spending over a year and how many points you've accrued through those. The taxes example was great but only one expense. It would really help to understand how much is required to spend to get a realistic reward travel through the cards.
Very informative!! Amazing stuff. How long have you been playing the game, Ben?
I'm only one year into the credit card game and already I can say between P1 and P2 it's saved us over $13k in travel on flights and hotels. From Germany, to Spain, to France, to Italy, and even NYC twice.
Big fan of maximizing sign up bonuses. Thanks to my wedding, we hit seven of them and are sitting on a small mountain of points.
Love these redemptions video! Points are just imaginary numbers unless you use them!
Is that an older marriott bonvoy card? I wish i had that design
Great video. But honestly the blue business Plus card is better because it earns 2X Amex points on business spend not just 1.5 on large purchases.
Even though it's only a half point difference comment that can add up real quick.
It definitely pays to rope your partner into 2 player mode! I think 2 player mode has got me around 150,000 chase points more than I would have had otherwise haha.
Can we get a current video on the Wyndham card and if you can still status match it to mgm gold Caesar’s platinum etc.? Thanks
You can match to Caesars diamond, but Caesars diamond to MGM gold is dead
But if you already did caesars>MGM>Hyatt previously, you can keep matching back and fourth between Hyatt and MGM every year
Spencer stole my thunder. This is why I came to the credit card game. Im late to it but trying to take advantage of what I can do now. Thank you for the awesome video Ben!!
Nice! What's your favorite redemption so far?
@@LK_EBM nothing yet. Have only accumulated about 190K points so far.
Почему Вы не используете токенизированную карту в телефоне?
Это же намного удобнее, + в кошельке можно держать до 12 токенизированных карт.)
Points and miles earned from credit cards can make things like this possible!!
I knew I recognized you from somewhere. What happened to the Gen Films channel?
I passed it to Allen, we split the company back in May 2022
@@TheCreditShifu ah. gotcha. I guess I'll watch this channel until we get to the future were money and points aren't needed. lol
What do you use your wyndham points on? Hotel stays? I have been transferring them to Caesars usually.
Yeah ill probably end up doing that, haven’t used them yet, just been accumulating
@@TheCreditShifu although not the greatest hotels they do come in clutch when you need them and usually around 15k a night. Also, I'm sure you are aware, but you can use wyndham points on vacasa stays. Keep up the good content.
I use the US Bank Cash+ for Home Utilities (Electric and Water), and the CIC for Internet and Phone (and I noticed you didn't mention those categories). But more specifically, do you not use the US Bank Cash+, because it doesn't go to points?
Right, I’m a points guy
2 player mode is the only way I play the credit card game
Doesn't Walmart gas require you to pay via Walmart app in which the charge shows up as Walmart purchase not gas? How do you pay?
I don't buy gas at Walmart, i buy at Exon or Mobil through the walmart app, and yes, it does code as gas
@@TheCreditShifu Ima try this, love the wyndham card. Thanks for the heads up.
How do you keep utilization low this way? 😮
I love Amex and chase
You can pay taxes without fees?
I didn't not receive the second emails that it is a great news
Aaaand now Amex disallowing taxes towards SUBs. Not sure if property taxes any different
Yep, its a constantly evolving game…
Is the Marriott card worth it!
So i took a look at this, and cant see how you purchase a business class flight with 65000 points when the redemption method only yields 1 cent/point. Maybe a statement credit, which, if my information is accurate, about get 6 cents per point.
Transfer chase points to United
technically you can't get the 60k polaris business class anymore. at least to europe haven't looked too deep into it yet.
I got it, booked about 3 weeks ago, from Europe to the US on a tuesday. But I did see United did just do another devaluation a few days ago
@@TheCreditShifu Same here i booked a trip to munich a month back. glad i jumped on it.
Man I just can't pay that much fee just to use a credit card to pay taxes. I understand you're still coming up on top but I will just wait until my business expense will spend $15k in 3 months but everything else is awesome!
65000 points is worth a business class flight? I can't believe that. That's crazy!
That's like 4-5 times the value on a delta sky reserve.
Just 60k
As a churner, I find 38k unimpressive with your affiliate links...
Hi, in general we don't use consumer level affiliate links, i.e. we don't earn points, we use affiliate links that earn us money, and yes we have earned a lot from that and sponsorships, youtube adsense etc... since we do this full time as a job. But this video is just about free travel using points.
Amex : *kills tax payments*
Love to see a Wyndham video, assuming it’s VACASA booking.
This strategy gives me a headache
Feels like a salary for a lot of work.
Last year I got the Air Canada credit card for $95 and that gave me an $11,000 round trip in Business/First to Amsterdam. $38,000 seems a little low for several years' work.
It would be higher, but I mostly travel with the family, so it is harder to do super high value redemptions with 4 people
It's a logical fallacy to think like this and all RUclipsrs seem to make this mistake. You should think in terms of what you would have paid out of pocket for the same trip. I doubt you would normally pay $11,000 to fly across the pond.
@@RemcoAlexanderPhD i don’t think thats a mistake. We are just showing how much value the points are worth. Its really not that serious of a thing that you have to be so technical about it, and besides, it is fun to talk about
@@TheCreditShifu One could also argue that misleading thousands of viewers with unrealistic values IS a serious thing. In the end it's just playing into the hands of the banks, while they throw us some tasty freebies to keep us hooked to their game and have us spend more than we need. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy playing the credit card game, but I do believe one should stay technical and analytical about it, and I think it would suit you as well if you could be more honest about it.
@@RemcoAlexanderPhD yeah i know this is common argument that people have “although you got a business class flight, you only would have paid for economy so you can only value it at $1000 when the biz ticket would have been $4000” But I dont agree with it, I want to know how much the flight I am booking would be worth, so i know I am getting good value for my points
You spent 15k on food?
Yes
No such thing as free yall.
