This was absolutely the BEST video created to replace the window motor. I cannot thank you enough for being most thorough with your instructions, while making this a positive replacement endeavor for anyone with little to no automotive repair skills. 👏

@@E4EonEbay You may also want to make note that when pulling off the regulator, to make sure you keep pressure on the spool inside, as I did not know this and the spool unraveled and I can't figure out how it goes back together.

@@rustyyusufkelly2190 Yikes how exackly would you put pressure on it and after that, wouldn't it still unravel when you relive pressure. Unless you knocked it on something that caused it to release and unravel. I have no idea, just trouble shooting before I do the job.

Apparently there was pressure on the male and female gears between the actuator and the motor upon removal and when I pulled it off, the spool within the actuator stayed on the motor gear which released the spring coil. Maybe mine was a fluke, but I'd add that caution needs to be taken with the actuator removal and maybe getting something behind it while pulling it off the motor?

This guy makes better videos than those who do this for a living. I appreciate that he outlined the steps, then gave a brief summary of what he was going to do; and in case the step that was the more challenging, he went back over it too cover it again.
    We need him for President.
    Best to you, sir

i'll spare the details of how & why i arrived at doing this...
... but i was actually able to remove the 2 screws that hold the BOTTOM (silver-colored) portion of the motor and i removed that section - taking out the magnetic thingy in there in the process.
just tapped it upside down to get any dirt/debris out and then put the magnetic core back in & put the thing back on the other half of the motor.
before putting all that window regulator contraption crap back on the motor, i plugged it all back together and turned the key on and then worked the window controls and it worked (not the window itself, of course, but the thing turned). so i then put the regulator portion thingy back on the motor and put it all back together and still worked... moving the window up & down now that the regulator was attached back to the motor.
i'm not super sure why, though i have some theories i'll spare you as well... but - believe it or not - this actually worked on BOTH the driver & passenger side of our 2003 T&C.
anyway, just know that this gives you one more shot at an easy fix... if wiggling & jiggling it doesn't cut it (and shaking & tapping didn't cut it for me). i might even try beating the hell out of it before tackling that whole regulator ordeal, assuming you need to replace more than just the motor.
    hope this helps someone.........

I drilled out the white plastic clips instead of carefully removing them and replaced them with a bolt, a small washer that goes on the motor and a bigger one to go on the inside of the door, and a nylock nut. Everything I used was 10mm and I even wrote that on the inside of the door with permanent marker. Now in the future, there's no battling those clips.

After installing the replacement window motor you can connect the window switch to the window motor to make sure it works before you put it back together especially if you got a used window motor or remanufactured motor.

LOL, I used duck tape and 4mil contractors plastic to make and put a water/vapor barrier back on inside of door, behind the cover panel. The original on my 2003 was glued so hard, I had to tear it apart to get off.

    I just did mine …
fyi to anyone when pulling the regulator part away from the window motor do it slowly… and then before pulling any more check in the gap and make sure the spindle with the wires that connect to the regulator is coming away also …
I did both doors.. and on the passenger when I unscrewed the 3 bolts from the motor and pulled the part that screwed to the window motor the whole spindle of wire stayed on the motor and the wire came undone and had to buy a whole window regulator with motor … what was supposed to be maybe 1 hour work became 2 days waiting for the part to come in
When I did the driver today I went very cautiously and when I pulled the plastic portion away from the window motor .. same thing was happening but I got a flat head screw driver and pushed the spindle away from the motor and this time success

Looks easy enough thanks for posting. Just waiting for Amazon to deliver my new motor and I'm tearing into mine. The passenger side is what failed on mine too. Trying to figure out why it failed when the drivers side is used a lot more. I ordered the entire regulator with motor just in case but probably just a bad motor because it's dead like yours with no sign of current draw when I move the switch. It had been getting very slow and intermittent and the other day it didn't move at all. Hoping it goes as smoothly for me as it did for you. Thanks again

Finally got it back together and working good. I could have gotten by with just the motor like you did but the replacement after market one was not interchangeable. It had a square shaft instead of star shaped and screw holes didn't line up. So I had to take the speaker out and completely remove the paper. New one came in fully up position so I unscrewed the window switch and plugged it in to power the new one before installing and get it to the exact spot as the old ones to reach the glass clamp screws. And used a couple pieces of duct tape to hold the window up when installing. Tricky getting those rails in and a tight fit. Next time I'll look for a good used or matching OEM motor. Your video was definitely very helpful on how to get the door apart and how everything works in there. Thanks again.

Does it make sense to replace the Regulator and the motor at the same time, especially since these are older vehicles and there is a chance that might break a well, especially during this process?
