- Dippity Do has a STRONG HOLD GEL?? What!!?? How am I just hearing of this! It was literally an Amazon suggestion! Dippity Do Girls With Curls Gelee has been a fav of mine for a long time, let's see if this one will become my new fav gel!

When I was a little girl and we would go to visit my grandparents, one of the first things I would do is go to the bathroom, get on top of the toilet lid, open the medicine cabinet, take down grandma's jar of pink Dippity-Do, remove the lid and swirl my finger around in it because I loved to see the "magical" patterns in the gel! 😂😂😂🙈 Fun memory.....I'm not sure if Grandma ever knew I did that 😂😂😂🤷🏼♀️ It's the simple pleasures of childhood 💖💖💖

I thought you were trippin, your hair looks really really good but if the xxtreme aint xxtreme’n it definitely won’t last. It does look very soft compared to a lot of your hard hold gels even the gelee.

It's been so long since I used my Dippity Do! It is such a good gel. I hate when brands incorrectly label their hold level. I'm like who is determining this?! lol!

My mom makes fun of me for using the pink Dippity Do, because it's the same gel she used in the 60s.
It looked amazing, sorry that it didn't feel the way you wanted. Did the curls hold up? Was there any frizz? If so could not see any in the video. Maybe that is what made it extra hold, not the crunch, but the actual hold up.
You used so little product the cast broke right away. Its mostly water by mass. You gotta really get the hair saturated for the sport-style hold. Takes a long ass time to fully dry depending on how bunched the curl sections are, but will maintain a shape without flyaways in real extreme ass conditions. Its pretty ideal for something like a ballroom helmet type doo. I like it for plasticky defined curl ends that dont tangle
I’m surprised that they don’t sell them in your waltmart in the US ! I’m in Canada so it’s rare that a product we have is not available on the ground in America. They have other products like few new products for kids.
Nope, they don’t seem to sell them here in the US at all. At least, I haven’t seen Dippity-Do in any of the supermarket or pharmacy stores where I live. I find more Camille Rose, Shea Moisture, etc, if I do find sulfate-free hair products at all.
I am going to try the pink Dippity Do gelée thanks to influencer Simone Nicole who gave you a shout out demanding for you to be recognised for introducing us to it, I then went back and watched your 6 year old video! Have you tried the Curl Talk Hard Hold Gel? I have tried it before and I actually really like it!! I know you prefer strong hold gels and I think the Curl Talk one is really good!!! I think you would like it and it’s only $8.99!!!

The pink dippity-doo, doesnt work much for me, it is a light hold on my hair. I wish it worked like it has for other people😭

I literally just through out the original gel because it dried out my hair and didn’t mix well with my leave in conditioner and I love my Wet Line Xtreme gel!
Sorry this didn’t tune out how you hoped! The pink one is my HOLY GRAIL styling product. I am a strictly wash and go girl… I can’t be bothers with anything else. 😂 And th he pink gel is my favorite. I have had a hard time finding a leave-in that mixes well, but I think I found a combo I love in case you want to try!! Right now I’m pairing that gel with the Maui Moisture Frizz-Free Shea Butter leave-in conditioner. It smells amazing and it doesn’t leave any weird white flakes or cast when it’s mixed with the dippity do!

Hey Bianca, love your channel even though we have different curl patterns. You mentioned Curlsmith In-Shower Styler being a hard hold gel. I have it and can't get it to work for me. Any suggestions?
I live in California 🌴 and I've seen the pink gel in TJmaxx. I love the Wet line gel, I need the extreme hold
I hate when brands advertise strong hold and when you use the product: no cast, barely and hold, fluff, and frizz. I have to start my wash day all over again basically since my hair is so short i cant get away with a bun or updo. I have high porosity, tight curls, snd live in humid fl. So far the gels ive found that seem to work are the Camille rose curl maker, kinky-curly custard, uncle funky's daughter (though the smell is not great), mielle honey and pomegranate custard, and wetline xtreme.
Did not like eco styler, rizos curls, not your mothers, or any curl creams.
Fellow Floridian! :) Yes, I used to use CR Curl Maker as well. Have you tried Ouidad Heat & Humidity Stronger Hold gel? For me, this works similarly, though it’s much more of a liquid-y gel, and it has protein, which my hair likes. With enough of it, it has worked similarly to the Curl Maker for my type 3 hair. I also liked the Dippity-Do Gelee in combination with Dippity Do-Mousse, but I need to make sure I put enough of both.
@@LatinaBunny21 I would like to try it but not for the price. If I ever see it at a Marshalls or tjmaxx, I'll give it a try but almost $30 for a gel is insane. I already don't like the price of CM. ILL GIVE DIPPITY DO a try, I just heard that it was drying. I just have so much hair, that applying gel the way bianca does, does not work for my hair. I have to do it like curlelia, sections and sections or else I get frizz. So I end up using more product than the average. Thanks for the suggestions ❤️
@@betzaidaflores2477 Yes, I’m the same. I have to do mine in more layers than Bianca does, too. For the dryness, I would use some creamy or light leave-in underneath. I usually use the Camille Rose leave-ins for everything, lol. I would recommend the Dippity-Do mousse alongside the gelee, as just the gelee by itself is not enough for me. For me, the Ouidad is worth it, since I only use a little bit of it per styling, and I can make the Ouidad bottle last for about 5-6 months. (I have more thinner-medium curls, not thick curls, so maybe that’s why it can last so long for me, hehe. 🙂)

I found Dippity Do be use of you about 4 yrs ago. Still my OG. Nothing works on my hair as well as this gel! But I do use a curl creme under and a wee bit of leave in.

I'm Canadian and didn't know about the Dippity Do Strong hold gel either. I liked the girls with curls gelee but don't find the hold strong enough.

Dippity Doo is an old school gel that was around in the 70s.
Use to put in in my hair, then rollers and sit under the hair dryer.❤

HEY GIRL HEEEY! I haven't tried either, so I'm open to trying the pink Dippity do. Imma pass on the blue 1. YOUR hair still looks great! Either way, I can't tell but only you know! You may have to stick w/ the pink Dippity do and keep it popping w that in the meantime. That sucks cuz I know u were looking 4ward, to it working but you'll find a bomb gel that will meet ur needs.
Hello, I've been seriously considering this for my frizzy did I say frizzy 2c hair, it's what worked before Sephora😅. At Walmart in Canada it's $3.99
Try Lotta body concentrated setting lotion. Dilute to 1 part setting lotion/ 1 part water. Spray on towel dried hair until saturated. Brush or comb through. Scrunch and air dry. This seals the curls perfectly. You can but the Lotta body at sally beauty. It's the blue liquid.

I wanna see someone with hair of my caliber. Not aginst ur video,but you already have nice hair that will curl up with this type of gel. So cant believe that this works for ladies with 4C hair.

You turned me on to the DDGWC a couple of years ago and I love it. My Mom used to have the original. It came in a little tub and it was a kind of light blue color. I am partial to a medium hold for my hair. I don't think I'll run out and buy this but if I see it at TJMaxx or Marshals I may pick up a bottle to try. Your hair still looked great.

I love the pink one! I’ve been using it a couple years after you first shared it and I love it! It works amazing for my hair and I have a completely different hair texture then you. I can usually find mine at TJ Maxx
I used to buy and use the green dippity do gel on my curls in my twenties. It was great!! Then, they completely revamped the line in when I was in my thirties.
The Girls with Curls came out, and I never had the nerve to try it out. The Xtreme hold is too extreme for me lol. Wish they hadn’t messed with a good thing. 😢

Hello Bianca how are you? Happy 4th of July! In my humble opinion, i don't like really appreciate hair gels because i feel with all that alcohol they contain, overtime it will weaken the hair and possibly the scalp. I think creams are a little better? Could you please recommend a curling cream that is protein free, gives a good enough hold for 3b 3c hair texture. ❤❤ Chat with you soon, Suki

Just a thought..if you haven't been wow'd by your wash and goes lately.... I found after I had my second baby, my hair was different. It's really hard for me to get hold from gels now and moisture from conditioners. My youngest is almost 3 and I still have issues so I guess maybe there were some decent hormone changes. I think I'll still try this gel because I'm really trying to find affordable products these days.
