I remember this game vividly. It’s got to be a Top 10 historical home win for sure. Just watching this 30min. clip again puts that heart wrenching feeling and butterflies in the gut like it was happening live for the first time! Loved it then and loved it again!!!!!! GO BLUE
This was my first game in the Big House, as a freshman! I'll never forget looking at the fans seated behind the uprights since we couldn't see if the ball went in from our angle, then hearing the place explode when it did. Then I think I started hugging everyone in sight, while screaming and jumping
Never forget I was so pissed I had to work that day so I brought my mini radio and went nuts after Brabbs made that kick .... boss wasn’t to happy but saw how much Michigan football meant to me and decided to give me Saturday’s off after that
I went to this game. What was funny is my buddy ( a Notre Damer) and I talked on the way up about how I had NEVER seen a game end on the last play in person. Place WENT NUTS!!!
Went to this game with my daughter who was a sophomore at U-M. We were seated in the corner where Marlon Jackson defended that pass just before halftime. Michigan had missed their first three FG attempts- Brabbs twice and the other kicker once- so you can imagine the anxiety casted over 111,000 spectators when Brabbs lined up for that 44- yard try. But he nailed it and the place went wild. Now we made our mile-walk back to the car. Everything went smooth untill we decided to get off the road to grab a pop and some snacks. The traffic was so heavy it was over an hour before we could get back on the highway. A lesson learned about leaving Ann Arbor after a Michigan football game (once you're on the road, stay there) but it was time I wouldn't trade for anything in this world.💝 And now a word of wisdom for my Wolverines, you know Washington is gonna want us bad when we travel there to open the 2020 season. Get ready. Hopefully I can make the trip. Either way, "GO BLUE".
WolverineHistorian ok right before this game started abc had an epic intro montage with the song "Saturdays" by del la soul playing...can you please upload it it was on right before this game started i remember because my brain is a freak of nature when it comes to remembering things..if you recorded this game you most likeley recorded it as well...please i will love u forever if you can locate it
as a UM fan, we got away with braylon's fumble on 4th down, which should have been ruled an incompletion, according to today's standards anyways. he didn't even take 1 full step. good thing for UM, instant replay was implemented in 2004.
I was sitting just to the right of that kick, about 12 rows up, in the corner. When that ball went through and the Big House exploded, my first thought was to jump over that wall, and RUSH THE FIELD! I got to the wall, looked down at the 12 feet below at an empty seat the MMB had left, and said HELL NO! And I had to drive back to Detroit, and walk a long way back to my car. There was no way I was gonna break my ankles for that stunt! So I looked down at the lady bandsmen, and said "IT'S GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE"! And she picked up the chant, and it echoed through the band, and in that endzone! As I made my way out, I saw some very brokenhearted Huskie fans, went over to talk to them. I told them, their team played one hell of a game, and he and his family, looked up and shocked the hell out of me. He said, "THANKS, you guys got one hell of a campus, and tradition here. This place is so wonderful, and everybody has been so nice, so loving to us, this is a special place"! TO THIS DAY, THAT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS, I HAVE EVER FELT IN MICHIGAN FOOTBALL, to hear that from that defeated Washington Huskie fan and his family! But if I had been thinking, I should've thanked him. Because in 1983, Michigan went out to Washington, got beat in the last seconds. BUT.....The Michigan cheerleaders, BROUGHT THE WAVE BACK WITH THEM, which found it's way down the road in Detroit, and helped the fans of the 1984 Detroit Tigers, to a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP. And both Michigan and the Tiger fans, STILL DO THE WAVE!
I agree that there was luck in how that blown play resulted with a recovery and a first down, but if you watch it two or three times it does appear that he in fact caught the ball.
I'll never forget watching this game with my dad. We both looked at each other before the kick thinking there is no way this kid makes this. Glad to be wrong!
I doubt today that the refs would call that a fumble to day up on review today today to give Michigan the Ball and I am a Michigan fan. I think we luck out....

Brabbs from 44... ahh it feels like just yesterday watching this with my dad.
Aaaaaand Brabbs was present and honored in the 2021 matchup between Michigan & Washington!
As a husky fan, I can tell you that this game was a heartbreaker.
I'll never forget the 12 men penalty... Such a mistake.
After Neuheisel's Colorado team won at the final gun at Michigan in 1994, this was poetic justice.

Andy Silva yea ok dude. You mean when you were in your moms basement
Don't be a douche
Damn, you've got to be pretty bitter and angry to respond like that to a completely believable and innocuous post.

Andddd now the season is cancelled
I remember as a kid being outside of the stadium and hearing that noise after the kick was made
Thank you for posting this. I appreciate it. Go Blue!

I was at this game and called it. The catch and fumble by Edwards was really an incompletion. Boys got lucky.
I'm a Michigan Fan, even Edwards thought it was incomplete. Sometimes the breaks DO come our way!
I was there. Can’t believe it’s been 18 years

12:30 Band Trumpeter dishing out some field justice to Husky
I wasn’t a Michigan fan but it seemed like after the 97 season it seemed like the carr era was plaged with special teams errors
Would have been fun to see ESPN's win % tracker thing for this game.
Half our section it seems like had left. So glad I stayed...

This game was a nightmare to watch. So many missed field goals and the fact that we just dominated this game was hard to watch.
2:05 that's awesome
Who else is watching in 2020 after the season was cancelled?
I always wondered if we caught a break on that call right before Perry's TD to tie it in the 3rd quarter -- was that a fumble?
It was so hot that day.
Do you by any chance have 2000 vs. Rice or 2001 vs. Miami (OH) I was at those games and would love to see them again.? Just wonderin.
I am sorry I really think that would be called an incomplete pass upon review, I really hate to admit it and I am a Go Blue Michigan fan...
As a wolverine fan....Whatever happened to Reggie Williams?
Sorry. I don't have either of those.
I was at the 2001 Miami (OH) game as well.
WolverineHistorian how about Michigan at Ucla in 2000?
Brady Hoke sighting at 4:14
The reason the Michigan receiver did not take two step, sorry Michigan fans...
Yeah I remember that
BRADY HOKE! 4:15!
Please don't say the score. Let find out.
