The feeling of coaching a kid and seeing him realize that he actually is good is one of the best feelings ever. I've just coached little league baseball and some church basketball league, but switching a few things up in a kid's swing and suddenly he's hitting dingers, or changing a couple pitching mechanics and suddenly the ball is zipping right where he wants it and seeing the kid look with the biggest grin is awesome. I think the coaches who get joy from seeing those they've coached be great are the best ones, not the coaches obsessed with winning.

Dorsey is great. Main reason the Browns fired him was because he picked Kitchens as the HC. Other than that he built the current roster that will be a playoff contender for the next few years. Before that he built the championship KC roster and built the Championship GB roster. I'm a Browns fan living in metro Detroit and would love to see the Lions turn it around like the Browns seem to have done
I was hoping some team would be smart enough to hire John Dorsey as GM. He deserves it. Same could be said for Scott Pioli. He helped build good teams with the Ravens, Patriots, Chiefs and Falcons. Also Scot McCloughan with the Packers, Seahawks, 49ers, Seahawks again and Redskins. Pioli and McCloughan would be solid assets for a team in need of a GM.

@@cidiose don't forget he was the 2nd in command in the Saints for almost 5 years, one of the most sucessful organizations in the last 10 years. He didn't come out of nowhere and he sure learned a lot from one of the best HC in the NFL in Sean Payton.
About to hit 2022, and things didn't go exactly as planned, but MCDC has his players excited, the fans excited and they have had glimpses of brilliance. Not going to talk about their record, but they are definitely a team you can enjoy watching.

Pat I enjoy these interviews so much more than what the traditional TV outlets put out. You have real conversations instead of the coach speak and PR lines the players make in a quick-hit TV interview. Keep doing great work. I love it.

Well I came back here again… and I don’t regret it. I knew he was our coach at this interview. The comedy, the grit, the honesty, and the sheer amount of detail the man speaks with. Lions will get a Super Bowl with this man as HC. May be this year, may be next, but this man will get one.
I'm a lifelong Packers fan and this man makes me want to see the Lions succeed.
