  • In this video, I experiment with High-Speed Machining (HSM) Feeds and Speeds, machining medium carbon steel. This is the fastest I have run the Syil and it was exhilarating to watch it mill this part.

OP1 Bottom: Face, spot, and tap for 8mm x 1.25.
    OP2 Top: (Shown in Video)
    1. Face (wasn't really needed) with 50 mm 5 flutes Indexable Face Mill.
    2. 3D Adaptive with 1/2" (12.7mm) 4FL Helical Indexable End Mill with Tiain coating.
    ------ DOC: 0.5" WOC: 0.0289" / 5.8% Radial Engagement.
    3. 3D Adaptive (rest machining) with 1/2" (12.7mm) 4FL Helical Ball End Mill with Tiain Coating.
    4. Parallel (both ways) with .5 mm DOC.
My least favorite cut was the parallel tool path. I didn't like how the conventional passes sounded, and the surface finish was worse than the 3D adaptive tool path.

@@PowerForgeWorkshop getting close to pulling the trigger myself. Gotta start an LLC first and all that goes with it.

@EZ_shop Great idea. I don't have an LLC or a business. Once I start a business I bet the business and lease the machine from me.

@@PowerForgeWorkshop Might I suggest "LLC for dummies" (no offense) I read it a few times already and found it incredibly well written, and immensely illuminating on the subject. A must read in my opinion.

@@EZ_shop Thanks, I'll check it out. An LLC seems like the best approach.

hi brou, do you recommend this machine?, Could you tell me about your experience with it, it works well for you., Does The pressure is good?, the machine breaks down often or never gave you problems

Well, so far so good. It has been a huge learning experience for me. Most of my problems stemmed from my own ignorance, but it is still working very well.
It's up to me to do maintenance and repairs, but the Facebook group and Syil are always ready to help and answer questions. Without that assistance I would have wished I bought a Haas.

Anyway, yes I think there is a lot of value in my Syil and they continue to iterate and make better equipment. Depending on who is buying the machine, yes I would recommend it.

Thanks for the information, I asked you because in my case I was thinking to buy the SYIL DX7 or the Z-Mat VMC-400, and I was undecided which one to choose@@PowerForgeWorkshop

It is certainly a big decision and a considerable amount of money. I wish you all the best. Hopefully, whatever machine you decide to go with works out well for you. @@hulkaplasta6558

Good video Buddy are you running the Siemens 808D Advance controller. would be nice to see you explain the process on the TTC 200 and Wireless Probe on how you got Everything going.

Definitely, I can do that. Yes, I am running the 808D Advanced. It's turned out to be a great controller. I'll put together a video or two on the tool setter and probe.
