Patriots-Rams took place at the same time as the famous Redskins-Cowboys clash, a battle of two 12-2 teams in one of the most heavily hyped NFL regular season games ever.
It was a crowded late window with 5 games - and the other 3 were all more entertaining than Washington-Dallas and NE-LA ended up being. John Elway earned the first of his patented comeback wins, throwing 3 TD passes in the fourth quarter as the Broncos stunned the Colts, 21-19. San Diego edged Kansas City, 41-38, on a late FG. And the LA Raiders blew a 24-7 lead at home and lost to the Cardinals, 34-24. St. Louis was one of the few markets not to get WSH-DAL on CBS.
@@johnmanier7968 The schedule that weekend was carefully crafted to ensure as big of an audience as possible for Redskins-Cowboys. The only markets to not get the big game in the late window were Minneapolis-St. Paul, St. Louis, Denver, and San Diego where many people on the northern end of the market got the game from the CBS affiliate in LA via cable or over the air.
Damn we missed Alcoa fantastic finishes :(
