I generally understand the point but comparing them to the 2000 Blazers is dramatically understating how good the Celtics are and comparing the Mavericks to the 2000 Lakers is dramatically overstating how good the Mavs are.

Everyone says the Celtics aren’t tested. Everything JB and JT have been through since 17 has been a test up until this point. You can’t overlook their body of work, they didn’t become playoff vets THIS SEASON. This is the fruits of their overall labor. You guys are going to see how battle tested these guys really are in the finals.
I’m from New England. And IF the Boston Celtics win the NBA finals, it should absolutely come with a huge asterisk. Let Boston play without Tatum or Brown, or in some circumstances both 😅… and see how well that goes. It’s not Boston’s fault, they have to play who’s in front of them, but to play every single team without their superstars is incredibly fortunate. The Celtics SHOULD win the title; and over the years people will probably forget why they did or how. As much as I want Colin to be right about Mavs vs Celtics. I think the Celtics have 2 guards that can easily irritate Kyrie and Luka and then you have Tatum and Jaylen brown. Celtics matchup way better against the Mavs than they do the Timberwolves. I think Celtics win in 5 maybe a sweep. They’re way over due for a title. It’s time.
Celtics would be the 6th best team in the West, behind Denver, Minn, Dallas, OKC, and Lakers. They will probably win the first game of the finals and probably one more. They swept Dallas, got swept by Denver, and split the other series. But the April 3 blowout of OKC was a throw-away game for OKC. Mavs in different form now than Mar 1 against Celtics. Lakers were in a lot better form in late season; just ran into the wrong team. Nuggets against Celtics would have been a sweep for sure.
