We will miss the "GREAT" Bill Walton! I loved to watch him play, just like I love to listen to him commentate a game. His personality was the best, legendary within itself. I love the guy, may he rest in peace. He was legendary in Life, just like he was in Sports.
I saw he and his wife going up an escalator in San Diego airport, while I was trying to make a telephone call and I called to him ‘Hey Bill!’, And he calmly turned around and waved with a smile.
I saw him in his life at a temptation concert less than 2 years ago San Diego What a very very very nice people who I got the autograph and pic I wasn't a Boston Celtic fan so I was very very happy
I knew Bill from two man beach volleyball on Cohasset courts in San Diego. He would play with Greg Lee around late 80's. He had such a positive attitude with everyhing. Lori the wife is a very smart woman. Donated a ton of her time to chatity. So did Bill. She was awarded recognitin by San Diego City Council. As many people have commented who knew Bill. Humanity lost a good one. Mike Meyer , South Mission Beach..San Diego.
In 1972 at UCLA, we students demonstrated against Nixon’s Vietnam War by first occupying the Franklin Murphy Administration Building and then had a mass sit-down demonstration at the intersection of Wilshire and Veteran. Bill Walton was always there standing up for what he believed in. Thank you BW. Three score & eleven.
Very disappointed UCLA and John Wooden weren’t mentioned in more information . Bill Walton loved and respected John Wooden , he constantly commented on his pyramid for success . Rest in peace Bill Walton ..
Bill was the best blazer ever. And it isn't even close. That team was young and so unselfish. Ramsey was the perfect coach. That heavily favored Philly team. They didn't have a chance. Nor did the Lakers.
He stood up for his fellow High School and College Class mates who were facing the Vietnam Draft and bogus endless Vietnam War. He was very opinionated but loved America. I will really miss Him.
LORI will miss Bill Walton, But Her Memories of Bill will be shared by Everyone, Like former Heavy Weight Champ, Rocky Marciano, Bill is also the One Everyone could identify with. That was Bill Walton's greatest gift, To reach out to everyone, with Hope and Joy. Also Bill kept all his severe suffering pain to himself, but showed Charisma and personality instead. Bill's wife Lori. Was the biggest influence for Bill Walton's Zeal for life.
Wish you would have talked more about UCLA and his relationship with John Wooden. It's almost hilarious how much more difficult Walton was for Wooden than Kareem.
Every man over the age of 50 should have at least two Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) tests through his family doctor or a Urologist twice a year, especially if there's member of the family who had Prostate Cancer. Woman and men should also have a Colonoscopy exam every five years. Tens of thousand of lives could be saved every year.
Biannual pass are probably excessive even with positive family Shirley if multiple years negative, negative digital rectal exam…same with q5 colonoscopy.
May he RIP. He was a tremendous talent, but his body could not tolerate the physical strain of basketball for very long. As an analyst, he was very intelligent and I always enjoyable to listen to him. I was disappointed in him in 1978 when he broke ties with the Portland Trailblazers because the team that year could have repeated as champions. I wish he could have reconciled with the Blazers organization. Then in San Diego, he was always injured or unable to play. There seemed to be so much talent and potential that was never fulfilled.
I wonder if he didn't get regular colonoscopies....I understand it's easy to treat / cure / if you catch it early. I have a friend who had symptoms...blood in stool, but he was too afraid to get a colonoscopy and he kept putting it off; he eventually died of C.C. My brother died of bladder cancer that metasticized. I just had a biopsy to see if I might have prostate cancer....no symptoms....just odd test numbers. Again, very treatable / curable / if it's caught early. I get test results in 2 days at my dr.'s office. If it's positive, these days they can zap the cancer early w/ medical smart bombs of just the right type and location. Amazing the way they can treat stuff these days. RIP Bill and RIP my brother Dennis.
F cancer. Still, when he was healthy, he was a great player, but sadly his knees and ankles just were completely shot. It got so bad that he had no cartilage in his ankles anymore so the doctors had to fuse it together. He could walk but he could never play professional sports agian.
He should have won 3 NCAA TITLES "BUT FOR SOUTHERN COOKING AGAINST NCST" the refs were terriable, in the I believe the semi -finals can't quite remember
It would help many people if HS family would share the medical information: hid treatment chices, progression, and final days. They have shared it was a prolonged battle. Was he in hospice at end? Did he die from side effects of chemo? The media does not ask the questions.
He had to do that to protect himself from people who hated him for being a civil rights advocate, and fools still hated him for his stand on the Vietnam war.
MVP is not based on points only, it's all around playing, offense, defence, guarding, passing, blocked shots, leadership, Walton did it all, that's why he didn't score a whole lot of points, he was an all around player & was the best at it👍✌️
Talked to bill 4 times at Park & Market UCSD place/ i was a parking lot attendant there for 1.4 years/ One time when bill showed up with his Tesla X i asked him " Bill what are you doing with such a beautiful woman--Bill let her drive !!! Also it thanked him for giving are mayor Todd Gloria a well deserved ration of shit on our homeless problem...Thanks Bill !!

"No American boy will die on foreign soil!"
Within a year the escalation was underway.

great student in HS and ucla and great athlete and character. Humanitarian. Great student of the game with John Wooden.
God bless your soul, Bill Walton. You will be missed 🙏🕊🕊🕊🕊
I was never a big fan but must say a very interesting character and probably the best fundamental basketball Center that ever played the game.
Saw his documentry. A wonderful and creative life he lived to go with his accomplishments and enduring the physical pain along the way.

Classy guy
That's right
May the fore winds blow you safely home
Nixon's Vietnam war?
What about LBJ?
What about LBJ
Neither. Truman sending advisors and support for French to Vietnam in the early 50's started US involvement, US withdrawal in 75 on Ford's watch.
Better College Player Kobe or Bill W???
Haha, Kobe never played college ball. He jumped to NBA straight from high school.
Should not literally die of prostate cancer. Something does not make sense here.
Was colon I thought and men do die from prostate cancer .

Stop messing with him he should be at second base, you have a very good short😮stop on the team. Stop messing with him, his performance has declined
Turbo cancer?
Whats that mean ?

Lives in a gated community but is a big civil rights activist. Sounds safe
