I saw this video a few months ago and started using the Dawn and baking soda paste right away. I love it! I was able to salvage a favorite sweatshirt that was so stained. I was so happy!! I use it ALL the time and have rescued so many items that would have gotten relegated to gardening clothes only. Thank you so much for this and your channel ❤
I’m so happy to hear it! Thank you so much for the kind comment. ❤❤
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse can i do this exact method for 100% cotton white jeans? or do i have to add other stuff?
You can use it just like it is. I probably use it the most on jeans.
Awesome tip! Always thought after a grease stain was laundered and didn't come out, it became permanent. Can't wait to try this on "ruined" shirts etc...
Hope it works well for you! It has been a life saver for me for sure.
This absolutely worked for me. You saved 4 shirts that I loved. Thanks for the great advice!
Yeeeesssss!!!🎉
Best, most direct explanation of how to make the paste and then how to use it. Thanks!
I love this! We had 2 shirts and I tried it first with just the dawn and it didn't work. Then I found your video friend and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for this very helpful and useful tip 🥰💞👍🏻
Thanks for sharing this tip. I sure appreciate it.
Thank you! I’ve thrown items out due to set in stains.
So glad I came across this video!
Thank you so much for this post!
Thanks for sharing, about to try
It worked!! Thanks for the great tip!! 😎🏋️♀️😎
Thank you so much for sharing ❤
You rock! Thank you for your generosity :)
I just made some very similar that works as well- same however I add 2 parts Hydrogen peroxide to this mixture. Love it!
Thanks I really needed this info
It's a life saver for sure!
Thank you. I hope it works cause I need this shirt tomorrow
Nice to know about the Dawn and the baking soda combo. I usually just use Dawn and that has worked for me.
I’m looking now for stain removal bc I just bought or ordered a used wool coat and haven’t gotten it yet but getting ahead of myself bc it’s not something I can throw in the washer, so I have to hand wash or hand spot wash and don’t eat to ruin it.
The last time I tried to spot stain remove on a suit jacket, the stain went away, but I had water stains. So I had to hand wash the whole suit jacket to get the water stains out and that worked, but I almost messed up a brand new jacket with some stains,
Thanks again for the tip and info.
Heyyyy! I needed help hit Google and here I am finding someone in my neck of the woods - thanks for this!!
Oh cool! Whereabouts are you?
Ummmm....GAME CHANGER!!! Thank you SO MUCH FFOR SHARING THISBWITH US! ❤😍And thanks mother in law! ❤😍
Right??? I honestly bring this up in random conversation. I feel like it’s my duty to make sure everyone knows about this.
Real credit I guess goes to Mrs. Pedasheski a friend of hers. 😂
I had to double rinse the clothes but once I did the 2nd rinse...the stains and powder were all gone. Nice! This will be my new go-to!
I’m so glad it worked well for you! I saw your initial comment and my heart just broke so I’m very glad a second rinse did the trick! That’s a great tip in case others have the same issue. I’ll make a note in the description box. 😊
This looks amazing! I would like to try on a plain navy blue sweatshirt. Does it ever have a bleaching effect or leave a light spot where it was used? Thank you!
I’ve never had it leave any trace behind!
It left light spots on my darker tops.
I have an oil type stain from fabric softener. Going to try my luck with this since it can’t hurt at this point
Hope it works!!
I wash in cold water will this still work in a cold wash cycle.😊

It works 💯 percent
Would this work well for removing stains on leather ? Like a leather jacket ?
Haven’t tried with leather before so I’m not sure. If it’s already stained though it can’t do much harm I spose? Maybe apply the mixture to a small spot and just wipe it away? Wouldn’t want you to full on wash a leather jacket.
Many thanks. How long do you leave it on the stain for?
About 30 minutes is what I do. My mother in law puts it on and washes right away though and still gets good results.
Is this for set stains
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhousethe longer you let it sit.. the better? or should you wash right away after the 30 min?
I have a old stain on a button down polo. Is it safe to use it on any type of material shirt?
I use it on my husband’s polos all the time.
We don't have that brand where i live, can it be any kind of dish soap? the one i'm having currently is yellow, would that matter?
I’ve only used Dawn but you can certainly try other brands! Maybe check the primary ingredients in Dawn and compare to the brand you have?
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouse I will do that, thank you!
I got black liquid shoe polish on my polyester vest do you think that this will work?
I’m not sure how it will work on the polish, depending on what it is made from. I’d say worth a shot!
Is this useful for heavy clothes too?? As even in dry cleaning stains didnt removed..
The heaviest I’ve tried it on is a thick flannel so I’m not sure. Worth a shot!
Okay.. thanks
Does this work on colured hoodies like a brown please let me know asap
It should!
do you rinse this off before throwing it in the machine or wash with it on?
Wash with it on.
If you have a low water washer, DO NOT put it n that washer because of the quantity of suds created. Rinse and use HE detergent recommended by the manufacturer.
Does this work for motor oil?
I haven’t tried it for that but I’d say worth a shot! My mother in law uses it for my father in law’s work clothes and he is a full time crop farmer. Gotta be some motor oil in the mix on those jeans. 😂
Does it work with a puffer jacket?
I haven't tried before but I'd say it is worth a try!
These are recent new stains or these are old stains?
Honestly no idea. My husband didn’t mention when they happened and he doesn’t always notice. But I have used them in stains from years ago, still works.
Will this work on walls?
I haven’t tried that myself but worth a shot. Maybe apply to the wall, let sit, then wipe away with warm water?
@@RoughandTumbleFarmhouseI'd be nervous leaving sit on the wall, it might stain it. Try it in a concealed area of the wall first where it doesn't matter.
Ong I will try this. I’ve been cooking and have a 2 yr old and boy do I get a lot of grease stains with being a walking napkin 😂.
I have kiddos ages 4,2 and 5 months so I know your pain!
Can i use normal dish soap if i dont have dawn dish soap?
Could certainly try! I recommend dawn as it is the best for cutting through grease. That’s why they always use dawn for oil spill clean ups.
it didn't work great on mine..... I feel so discouraged after reading how well it worked for others.... I thought I let it stand on there for at least 15 minutes but maybe I needed more time? Have you had tougher stains that you needed to redo or is it a lost cause.... Thank you
Oh no I’m so sorry! Can’t hurt to try again.
Maybe the stain is something aside from grease? It doesn’t really do much for other stains I’ve noticed. Just grease.
You didn’t work the angles
Just don’t confuse it with the cake frosting.😂
I had someone comment they thought it was ice cream once! 😆
Um, those were pee stains.
I can see why you’d think that but I’ve dealt with pee on clothes plenty and it washes out the first time.
