  • FIGHT CLUB IN THE STREET BEST OF KAJUKENBO
    By Luis and Joe Diaz
No need to be an Olympic champion, a muscular man or a Judo expert to learn how to defend yourself, you just need to really want it and to listen carefully... Learning, understanding, analyzing and anticipating is within everyone's reach. The street is a jungle. You can spend your life without ever being attacked, but one day everything can change without a warning. Do not fear this danger, you just have to get ready and prepare properly.
Discover a whole range of complementary techniques (Krav Maga, Close Combat, and professional Kapap) that will show you the keys to a self-defense that is focused on efficiency against different attacks such as: holding, attacks with and without weapons, with kicks, or threats with knife and gun.
Whether you are big or thin, tall or small, supple or not, beginner or expert, it doesn't matter; "Fight Club in the Street" will teach you how to defend yourself against the most common attacks. Being a member of "Fight Club in the Street" is about learning how to defend oneself and not to attack, it is knowing how to help one's fellow man, respect oneself and respect others.
    Luis et Joe Diaz:
Official delegates of Kajukenbo for France, students of Master Angel Garcia, 10th Dan and successor of Master Emperado. Official representatives of the K.S.D.I.F.

I trained in Kajukenbo back in the late 80s and early 90s for about four years, and I agree. Our school did some controlled sparring, but never anything that really tested our abilities to failure. And it was extremely light on grappling. I stopped going in 1993. I don't know what modern Kajukenbo is doing, but if I were young and starting training I would look at a school that mainly teaches muay thai or boxing, and BJJ, with some emphasis on dirty/street fighting situations.

True but this one a demo. Two. The practice of long sequences develops a skill needed in fighting. Three. When one takes a hard hit to a target like the eyes or groin you will flinch and move away and this opens up new targets. We train to exploit these targets. We also do mma

As a 5 year practitioner of Kaju, I can say we DO indeed use a lot of kenpo angles and a few kenpo principles. Kenpo, is after all, one of the 5 main systems that form Kajukenbo. But every school is different in its own. Our school looks a lot like an MMA school (albeit with some very "dirty" techniques..we like the dirty stuff ALOT) and we employ a good amount of BJJ, Wrestling, and Judo, as well as a fair amount of Muay Thai and Boxing, and really only a small amount of Kenpo and Karate. We spar and roll alot, and focus entirely on self defense and the realities of actual hand-to-hand combat on the street against determined attackers. But there are certainly plenty of other Kajukenbo schools out there that you couldn't tell apart from a Tracy's Kenpo, or your local family karate dojo. And some schools look like some really weird fantasy world mix of Aikido and Wing Chun that we wouldn't even bother wasting our time with, unless we are going there to beat some of them up lol. It pretty much comes down to where you train and who you train under.

I'm not a very high level in kajukenbo, but I saw a lot of things that bothered me in this video, that I think were probably just the "drama" but should have been done correctly
One thing in particular - doing ground work or taking a person to ground, and then not moving away before returning to stance
    Look at
    ruclips.net/video/yJE1LwX7l7U/видео.html
You can argue about the likelihood of it happening, but standing right where the attacker can now kick you is just bad kajukenbo. You see this a lot in this video
