    You have helped my blood pressure significantly. I now take magnesium citrate at night. I also take fish oil (carlson's fish oil at night). Lastly Natures Pure Blend Beet capsules. I stopped putting any sea salt in food. I use organic Celery powder to replace salt. I take Vitd3 with K2. Before all of this my blood pressure was very very high at night, my heart would race. Thank you for your channel.

      @@dlateachtruth960 hi I have HBP due to genetics. I eat a natural clean diet of Grass fed animal, wild fish, organic veggies from my garden, I don't eat anything processed. I realized this year that many foods even organic foods have sea salt or salt. I started reading labels more. I cut out using sea salt in my cooking. Instead I use Table Tasty which is a salt substitute. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night with racing heart. If I do I eat organic lettuce or cucumber to help slow down the racing heart. My salt substitute has nutritional yeast in it which also helps lower blood pressure. If I eat a bagel or bread, they are organic or sourdough. There is lots salt in both bread and bagels. I buy Kate's Butter from Maine unsalted. According to the Carnivore Doc salt doesn't affect HBP. I know for a fact that it does. Even the best Sea Salt affects HBP. Doctors who prescribe HBP meds ought to tell their patients NO SALT rather than to eat a LOW salt diet. My 86 year old father couldn't sleep at night until we started looking at all his foods that had SALT. I now buy him Sourdough Bread (organic), unsalted wild tuna fish, low sodium organic soups, organic turkey which has less salt than commercial Turkey. Organic pasta which has less salt than commercial. He cooks Grass fed burgers with Table Tasty. Good luck on your journey. There is a lot of misinformation everywhere. Lastly my father does intermittent fasting eating 2 meals a day. His weight dropped, he sleeps better. We both take Fish Oil supplements that I buy at an organic health food store

    Warning: IF you rush out and get all this stuff, there is a real danger of getting too much of one thing or other. TOO MUCH can hurt you, of some things. An example is my son's friend who ate too much protein and hurt his kidneys. If you need say "500 mg", it does NOT mean 500 OR MORE, though with some things like Vitamin C, that maybe be fine (getting more), but you need to know what you are doing and always determine if there is a threshold value YOU SHOULD NOT SURPASS. You can do more harm than good if you are not careful, you know the old American problem "hey, if two of these are good---I'll bet 10 will REALLY help me". Not so much. And don't forget your diet, if you take a supplement for something--but already get a lot of that in your diet, consider the combined value. Be well.

    It is not the wild caught , it is the farm raised salmon that has mercury in it. From the low quality food that they feed them and the dirty shallow water that they live in.. buy wild caught everything if you have a choice. Norway is supposed to have pretty good farm rised

    I take Shaklee brand supplements. Been taking Omega Guard (I don’t eat any seafood), B-Complex (Dr. Shaklee only sold the B’s as a complex so you would not become deficient in one while getting too much of another), C, D3, magnesium, zinc,and of course a multi vitamin. I take garlic on occasion and also Co-Q10. I also drink the plant protein shake every day. I’m 61 years old and feel great, and no medications. I eat a relatively healthy diet. I appreciate this doctor sharing his knowledge of supplements. I’m sure there are other good brands out there, but I have used this brand since I was 16 years old. (My mom used them also). Food is medicine.

    There is a lot of good things to eat and it's good to eat them in the natural form. Nevertheless, I would point out the crucial supplement if your BP is getting out of order (=too high): arginine can save you a lot of pills like ACE inhibitors etc. Arginin's advantage is that it is a substance generally produced in the human organism, which means 'natural' in the best meaning, and taking part in dilating the veins. The problem with it is that our own production weakens in the course of ageing.

    I would say that most people don't need to supplement Calcium. You should take the combination of K2 & D3. They work together to move calcium out of your blood and soft tissue and into your bones and teeth. People who supplement Calcium without K2 & D3 are putting themselves at higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

      I don't take a lot of supplements. I eat food. K2 is found in cheese, egg yolks, chicken and butter which makes certain groups of people that have strong opinions about certain foods very angry. If you're not getting it in the foods then you better be supplementing.

Eat a salad every day with at least 4 different colors of food and beets on the side. You'll get alot of potassium rich foods that will increase the nitric oxide in your blood.

Was drinking hawthorn hibiscus tea, taking kyolic garlic, and eating mediteranean diet and ecercising lost 25 pounds andnow bmi 24. Had some middle of the night palpitations and waking up after only a few hours sleep with heart pounding. Placed on 2.5 mg lisinopril and did ok but then Bp started to go up consistently 140s over 90s, waking up in the night with pounding heart disrupted sleep, and doctor placed me now on 5 mg 2x daily. It helps the numbers and the night time pounding, but wish i didnt have to be on anything. Its hard to regulate the natural remedies. Too bad i didnt know what i know now 20 years ago, could have probably avoided medications alltogether. Pretty discouraging.

    I don't take fish oil because it was still making me have mild like periods even after I been through menopause and stopped. But I do take Cod Liver Oil which has done wonders and no monthly bleeds. CLO cleared my articles and plain ordinary fish oil didn't. I'm maxed out on Calcium so I stopped taking Calcium pills years ago. I think salt is the culprit with me so yesterday I started cutting back on salt and will continue to take several blood pressure readings a day for a while.
    Before taking the advice of this doctor or any doctor get a blood panel and learn how to make use of it.

      Vit. D2 or D3. What's the difference?

    • @fiery.mercaba
      @fiery.mercaba 3 года назад

      Vitamin D3 is said to be far more easily absorbed & thus utilized by the body than Vitamin D2, the latter, by the way, @@patsyharewood6923, being said to be mostly prescribed by the majority of medical community.
      Not sure if the alleged preference of the medical community majority for D2 is so or not, & all I can speculate at this point on that is that it is because there is some sort of self-interest in the preference (e.g. D2 probably costs less; pro-D2 manufactures have developed an alliance with physician associations; etc). But I've been researching Vitamin D3 from about 2016 & the approval of it seems to not be unwarranted.
      I should note that major studies on Vitamin K2, which is normally gotten from some fermented foods (e.g. kimchi), has it that Vitamin K2 directs Calcium in the body & therefore is a recommended supplement counterpart to Vitamin D3 supplementation, insofar as Vitamin D in general aids the body in absorbing Calcium at the gut level.
      Look into these things more yourself, I would advise, Patsy. Hopefully my input has aided you quite a bit towards settling your questions.

      No, you can't really absorb Vitamin D with sunscreen on. What I do, is sit in the sun for 30 minutes and then either cover up, get out of sun or apply sunscreen. Most sunscreens are terrible toxic products so I'd only use them if you have to. Side note: consuming vegetable oils & seed oils (canola, vegetable, peanut, corn, sunflower, soybean oils, etc) cause skin to burn in the sun. I've even tested this on myself, as I haven't eaten much seed oils in the past 6 years.

    I am deficient in vitamin d. I live in a state that is cloudy dark crappy weather. 9 months out of the year. However, I am not able to take vitamin d. I don't know what it does to me but it is not good number one. It makes me super hyper makes my heart beat fast and hard. I have nightmares and it makes me feel shaky and it makes my joints hurt. What do you think about that??

    Dr. Story, The newest thing is taking beets powder to increase NO2 in your body. Does that help with blood pressure? My question refers to both in a short term immediate affect, but also to a long term, long lasting benefit if used on a daily basis.

    • @wavehaven1
      @wavehaven1 2 года назад

      Arginine and Citurlline.... its what helps create NO2.
      Do a benefit search on it.

    When I take calcium citrate supplements my blood pressure goes up

    • @fiery.mercaba
      @fiery.mercaba 3 года назад

      Yeah, Alex Bojsza. When I heard the recommendation of calcium supplementation, I sort of winced & went around that one.
      I am glad Dr. Story pointed out the need to avoid Calcium Carbonate, which, by the way, many food manufacturers are putting in many of their products like dairy alternatives, & that they do, for it is a cheaper form of Calcium, but is very unhealthy.
      However, any type of Calcium can really build up in the blood & collect in soft tissue of the body, which, of course, can itself cause blood pressure elevation problems. The unnatural calcification problem is called hypercalcimia. And some people are even more prone to this problem, e.g. those who thyroid problems. This has been my learning, anyhow.
      What a person may be better off doing is trying to get the Calcium from healthy food sources, & then additionally do supplementation of Vitamin D3, which helps with Calcium absorption, & also Vitamin K2, which reportedly aids the body with sending the Calcium into the right places, i.e. bones & teeth.
      These things I've learnt, thus far. Look into them more yourself, I would advise.

    • @fiery.mercaba
      @fiery.mercaba 3 года назад

      But not unsurprising, @@bjoshua1980. Calcium, which, as I've heard it explained, is a tightener with regard to its functions in the body, so opposite the relaxers Magnesium & Potassium, can really go in the direction of being too much in the body, collecting in soft tissue, e.g. in the kidneys.
      The condition is known as hypercalcemia, & there are some medical conditions that make a person more prone to developing the condition, e.g. parathyroid issues, etc.
      These things have I learnt thus far, but you don't have to simply take my word for it, nor should anybody just simply take anybody's word on anything, unless the thing is absolutely evidently in-your-face true, albeit, even then, it is best to study out even the truth some more to get a full range of facts regarding the particular truth.
      I think it commendable you at least tried to cautiously offer some additional information to the starter of the thread, namely Alex Bojsza, though, & well you avoided trying to lambaste Alex for even stating what he or she has simply stated is his or her personal experience with Calcium supplementation, which, again, is not an unheard of problem.

    • @fiery.mercaba
      @fiery.mercaba 3 года назад

      Thanks for your further response & additional information, @@bjoshua1980. I will seek to look into when I shall have chance to.
      Hey, let me ask you this. Can you elaborate on your initial post, please? I'm specifically looking for an elaboration on the "citrate acid (lemon)" test you proposed. Thanks.
