Alps is recognized as one of the best potentiometers made. Now the device’s noise has been lowered with semiconductor type potentiometers, which are a huge gain! They require a touch panel for control. This eliminates the knob, which over time allows dust to gather inside.
Instead of us quoting the wrong models, probably best if you look through their site. They list in the description of each product if it has the M-eVol.
@@soundstagenetwork When I've used them they felt identical to what I felt with my No. 38/38S and No. 380S. The same .1 increment when turning slow, faster increment when turning fast and very similar display. Certainly someone influenced someone.
@@VideoArchiveGuy It's definitely positive that there was some influence there. On the other hand, we were thinking about what Levinson is doing today when that was asked--is there anything special in the current volume controls? Frankly, we don't know. But Simaudio is still doing their thing up to and including today.

This type of content is rare and especially with canadian hifi products 👍
awesome progression. cheers from England
Excellent content. Made in Canada as well. 🍁
Thanks
What about a stepped attenuator?
Their volume control is a stepped attenuator
Is it a dual stepped attenuator?
Would you be able to let me know which Moon product using this type of volume control?

The Moon volume control always seemed stolen from the Mark Levinson No. 38/38S and 380/380S.
Are they similar or do they just feel the same?
We have never found anything that rotates the way Simaudio's M-eVol volume control does, and also has the same precision.
