Hi Thomas. Great to see all these fine systems shared. Interesting too to see someone else with Atohm. My GT1/Devialet combination has shocked many a visitor with its presentation (for the size) Keep up the great work...
Thank you Thomas for sharing my system 😊 I do appreciate my new Buchardt S400 they fit really well in my room, the Atohm Sirocco are now in the living room waiting for me to buy a little amp 😊
@@ThomasAndStereo Atohm Sirocco are great speakers for the money in France, they might loose that when imported due to transportation and taxes. Maybe try the GT line, anyway it's gonna be an interesting listening experience as they manufacture their own drivers 🙂
People such as me spend a lot of time, energy, research, money and effort compiling a system that reproduces music the way they/I like to hear it. My system is totally built around my listening preferences. If family and friends enjoy its sonic signature, that’s fine and good and pleases me. If they don’t like what they hear or see, well, I didn’t put it together to impress them. So, if people are interested, I’m happy to share the details of my current set up. I have a Project Perspective turntable. A Rega Isis CD player. A Hegel H590 amp. A pair of Kef Reference 5 speakers augmented with a pair of Rel T9I subs. Whilst I appreciate that cables and interconnects can make a difference, I don’t hold with expensive cables, I think my speaker cable was around £11 a meter! I’m using the mains cables provided by the manufacturer of the various components. My room is medium to large and is completely acoustically untreated. Hard wood flooring, plasterboard walls. I have placed a large plush rug between and in front of the speakers. I don’t have the luxury of a separate listening room so my system is set up in our family lounge. I have to balance best audio performance against appeasing the wife with room aesthetics. Neither my speakers or subs are ideally placed, with the speakers being almost flat against and parallel to the front wall with the subs adjacent to them and between them. So, I rely almost entirely on the sonic reproduction of my electrons and speakers to achieve the end result. For streaming which I do more and more commonly because of it’s simplicity and convenience, I use the Hegel’s on board dac using Qobuz or Tidal via my laptop or smartphone! I’m not an audiophile snob. I also frequently stream music from RUclips, Apple and Spotify. I have a pair of Bose Companion active speakers on my desk at work and can listen to music on them which I could never listen to on my home system because it would sound nasty.
These guys are so organized and neatly put together. Atoll doesn't have a big presence here in US. Talk about them a little bit more in the future! Please
Simply amazing systems. I love seeing people experimenting with their gear to finally attain the sound they are looking for. I hope one day to get a system like Priyo though.
Thanks for showing my humble little system Thomas. Funnily/typically it has changed since I sent those photo's. My laptop died, so I took the plunge and got a secondhand bluesound node 2i, which is great for streaming but (after playing around) found that the internal dac was not as good as the one in my yulong canary headphone amp. Then a friend borrowed my peachtree for a few weeks to see what it sounded like. So as a temporary measure I connected the yulong straight in the crown and was surprised to find it sounded better than my peachtree.. What the heck? So since those photos I have come to some strange but interesting conclusions ..firstly that hifi is full of fun and surprises, no matter what budget we run with, and secondly that modern headphone amps/dacs can also make pretty impressive single source pre-amps, and although my little system sounds better for these changes, the hifi rack looks very sparce, empty and minimalist..and so un-hi-fi like now 😄 Which leads me to another hi-fi conundrum... as although I am happy, I have always wondered what a little tube flavouring might be like, but don't know whether to look into getting a tube headphone/pre-amp, or a dedicated tube pre-amp (like the Freya) or go the whole hog and get an integrated tube amp, so any advice would be great. Thanks again and keep up the great work

For viewers using Prima Luna: a significant improvement in sound can be realized by a complete retubing with Gold Lions. The amps come with somewhat inferior tubes to cut costs. eg. 4 kt88 /2 12ax7/2 12au7= around 400USD+..For reissues GL can not be beat.
Question for Guillaume : I didn't have the opportunity of listening them back to back but from knowing Atohm speaker first hand isn't the S400 a downgrade from the Sirocco towers?
The S400 might image a lot better in that environment and goes down low enough in the bass region to give a sense of full scale music...sometimes floorstanders could be too much for a room...just my 2 cents.
Hey, great question As said amusikpoem the S400 image a lot better in my room (14m2 rectangle) The Buchardt work great with my Atoll amp and the Atohm sound much better in my bigger living room. I still love the sound of the Atohm that's why I just move them to another room more suited to them. Feel free to ask more questions 🙂
My friend died. I got his stuff. I heard fantastic reviews on this $4,000 tube pre amp with 2 tubes. Absolute sound calls it the best tube pre amp there is. I dont know about that. They are in storage. We ordered 2 at great deals. Its called Audible Illusions, I think LS1. I may be wrong with LS1, I am not sure. Anyway these Pre amps are awesome. I have stated before that I have noticed on Ebay that people only buy stereo equipment with good tone. I said that I liked cheap stuff with good tone for friends. All cheap Sony receivers arent perfectly clear sounding, but some have good tone. I dislike most cheap Sony receivers, but I found one with great tone on my speakers for my friend. So I got the exact same receiver for myself. Nobody wants to talk about it. My theory there is certain cheap stuff designed in some way to sound great. If you could talk to certain designers how this could be improved. Certain dacs, cd players, & wires also improves the tone. I wish you would compare good, better, & best equipment. Not poor equipment. And what best equipment that aint worth it. Talk about tubes, hybrid amps. What equipment tubes sound best at. How many tubes one needs in an amp. What vintage equipment to use or not to use. What equipment last longer, like a Class D amp. Class G amp, when will it happen, what you think of it. My nephew lived far away & I didnt hear it enough. He had a Carver tube cd player. Man, the sound was dark. I dont know if it was too dark, but you wouldnt have to worry about harsh speakers. Too bad all those cd players drop cds. But I just thought that Carver cd player might tame the harshness of a Klipsch speakers. Your friend at the next big thing was talking of amps taming Klipsch speakers. And maybe speak of Magnepan speakers. I dont live close to any audio shops anymore. i"d like to hear of tube, hybrid, & different type amps stuff in future... I wonder if you know of a dark Tube dac or cd for Klipsch. I think speaker desighers should spend more effort in making efficient speakers. And if an amp designer could explain to you the different amp designs of wiring. Carver had an amp with SONIC HOLOGRAPHY that helped on certain cds, it probably had some distortion. Carver advertizes a cheap tube amp that the tubes last for 10 years. And if the Jolida tube amp is any good at all. In future reviews speak of some of this stuff.

Question: I’ve had the reisong-tube-amplifier-for about 6 months. I’m interested in tube rolling. I’ve been looking at the lion Gold tubes. In your opinion would these tubes make a significant improvement in sound? Would replacing the preamp tubes increase gain? Thank you
You will have to ask them if it increase gain. With tubes, the sound will change but it does not mean it will be better. Always depends what you like and sadly only way to know is to try.
Based on your advise I bought the focal kanta 2. Thank you very much. Do I need an amp with 250w. I have a wyred power amp with 250w in my radar. Does it make any difference, because my lyngdorf tdai 2170 is connected to a marantz power amp with 140 w. Feels like I miss something.
I think you would need something way better to be consider a true upgrade from the 2170. What is missing in your system? Bass slam? Might be better off getting a sub if that is missing.

god bless
Nothing too amazing here!
For me they are all amazing.
Do you have any thoughts about Shun Mook Mpingo Discs tuned by Bill Ying?
Never tried them but I just took a look at their website, interesting.
Nice video Thomas. Were can I send you email with pictures of my system? Greets from Colombia.
turbotan@gmail.com, email it to me.
@@ThomasAndStereo Thanks Thomas
Very nice everybody!
A small part of the writeup for the last system is partially blocked by the "next video"...
Thanks, Ok, I have removed it, I will eventually put it back so please take a look when you can.
Umm How do I submit my systems though. I really like some of the ideas shown in this video.
email it to me at turbotan@gmail.com
Not that I really know but, perhaps an adapter could provide more new mic opportunities?...
:)
You are giving an excellent opportunity to everyone. Sorry, I may be asking a question which you already answered. How can I send my system’s photos. Any email?
turbotan@gmail.com, thanks.
How i do send you pics/video of my music room? Email??
The new mic cuts off the top end. Not as crisp as the old mic.
Can I just ask you. Would the IKEA chopping boards actually do anything to the sound. Big thanks..
Under a turntable it will provide more isolation
@@dajikbatarang1 ok big thank you.
Thomas & Stereo thank you for the helpful information!
Thomas & Stereo thank you for the answer.
So helpful information i found while researching my question
www.thetubestore.com/gain-factor
My speaker doesn't work cos I can only connect the positive.
I love these videos. Unfortunately your End Cards block Neil's text. Is there a way you could post the text i am actually curious what he was writing about his system:)
Ok, I have removed it, I will eventually put it back so please take a look when you can.
Thomas & Stereo Wow thank you so much for the effort! Just read it through :)
More of this
Im thinking...are people technicphiles or audiophiles?
Both?
@@ThomasAndStereo maybee some, yes
How do I send a video of my system?
Email it to me at turbotan@gmail.com
Finally
Now-now Thomas we getting a bit snobby about putting down that guy because he used Ikea boards under his electronics I'm surprised you didn't put down his rack either🤔😀
how did he put the guy down ? he said he would do the same thing
Hehe! Yeah it so smart!
@@zorhis1996 Nah, he put a big smily face so I am sure he is being Sarcastic :)
@@ThomasAndStereo thanks Thomas👍
A Sony Vaio laptop? People are so confused....
I've never had a problem with the audio on this channel, seems like maybe they were just looking for some free advertising. 😕😕
I did get a lot of complaints from viewers so I have been trying to improve the sound quality of my channel. The MIC is a step in the right direction.
For an “audio” channel, it amazes me that Thomas is finally improving his audio quality for YT.
Hurting utter people...🤣🤣🤣
Can’t you, Sean, Jay, and Guttenberg just combine your channels? All you guys do is rinse and repeat. Lately it’s just plugging products. Now it’s subscriber system show-and-tell.
I think it is only me and Guttenberg that show systems. Problem is I have so many people submitting their system that I can do 10 episodes on it .
Too much yapping and no sound demos?!
What pointlessness.
What? Why? Just enjoy the audio porn
Sound demos are pointless
@@Watcher4111 agreed, especially through RUclips's compressed audio, also Thomas would have to remove most of them to avoid getting copyright strike's.
The sound will be too much forward to neutral and too bright in the front end. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
