- Eating Whatever I Catch while fishing from a new Saltwater Pier ONLY! We head out to go saltwater fishing at a brand new pier in North Florida with a mission - eat whatever I catch. What kind of fish would be around a pier like this?? We attempt to catch clean and cook whatever we hook into.. I did not expect for this to happen..
Again, I want to thank each and every one of you for the support! At the time of this upload we just passed 534,000 I'm having so much fun making these videos, lets keep this rolling!

The reason for oil and butter mix is because butter burns and browns quickly, by adding oil to it will reduce burnt butter taste. one advice use a high heat oil like Avocado, peanut, sunflower Oil. Olive oil will burn as well.

Adding oil to butter does not change the smoke point what you need to use is. Clarified butter smoke point is two hundred and fifty degrees clarified butter is four hundred and eighty

@@Syncedits17 if you prefer poached fish in butter, then yes! However if you like to pan fry the fish get a nice color to it. Sear the fish in a neutral high heat oil and at the last 2-3 minutes add a knob of butter, herbs and maybe a squeeze of lemon. baste the fish with the butter oil mix with a spoon to just add a bit of richness to the fish!
I felt like this a few months back fishing the ocean for the first time ever. No clue what I was doing but man, it was so much fun!
Always a good vibe bro! Update! I caught my 1st large mouth bass yesterday! & i caught 2 black crappies! Today i went back and caught my PR crappie and did my very first catch & cook! I tried to fillet it and messed up 💁🏽♂️ so i pan fried with the skin on! Just threw some cajun & lemon pepper on it with some butter lol. I enjoyed it over white rice!

I just started saltwater fishing at the pier near my house after moving to where I’m at and have been having so much fun learning. There’s a tackle shop a block away from my house that’s been there for decades, and the guys inside were super helpful

I know that pier well lol, use size 1 circle hooks with cut shrimp on a 1oz Carolina rig around the benches. You’ll thank me
same shrimp on circle hooks works best.

@firststatefishing Idk if it works on saltwater cat, but try gutting the fish then pull the skin off with vice grips, oil and use lemon,salt, and black pepper wrap in foil and grill simple and good for small catfish
Dude this is my area! So cool, I love the Jax pier. While you’re here you should go to ricks bait and tackle. It’s one of the best in Jacksonville and they can give you the scoop on what’s biting.
I need to make a trip to the new pier. Have not been yet. Used to fish the original wood pier often before it was destroyed by Floyd. Never fished the second one but walked it any chance I could. It was taken out by Matthew and finished off by Irma. Glad to see it back in action. Love the videos, keep it up.

Classically trained at Culinary University. The oil help keep the butter from burning. Yet a brown butter is nutty and nice for fish. the stage before burnt.

My son and I just watch this video!! We live in texas and love going saltwater fishing when we can. That was a hard head cat. And I'll tell you something about it if you ever catch another look really closely to its forehead and you'll see the cross. If you ever want to fish out at Jax in some spots, u can try Vilano Beach pier which is a pier situated in the intercoastal

I’ve had spade fish (those Angel fish) it’s good as long as you bleed them and make sure you cut out that blood line.
Best thing you can do with that pompano rig is separate the jig from the teaser and tie both on with a loop knot. Wouldn't hurt to buy a few more and mix colors like yellow jig and pink teaser.
People who catch hardheads usually treat them like trash fish, but they're pretty underrated. Also try sand fleas. They sometimes sell them or you can try to dig them up yourself. Much easier to catch than fiddlers and in my opinion are the best surf bait.

Definitely bring the filleting back! And 3.5 times out of 5 go with lemon for fish instead of lime. Fry some taters in that extra butter and oil.

That pier is so pretty
my 10 year old literally asks to go catch hardhead catfish. They take an extra minute to clean but the meat is way better than freshwater cats. I dumped them my entire life until recently. I don't like many fish and i guarantee i will keep those now. My kids loved them. I snip the 3 spines off, hand wash off some of the slime, and they filet nice and easy. I don't understand the hate they get. It's a little more work but the meat is fantastic.
If you use live shrimp you need a float for that pier and fish under the pier or with the wind

It's a gaftop lol if you find a swarm of babies they will swarm skeleton red and you can actually just dip it in the water and throw it up on the dock and they will hang on lol like hundreds it's insane.

I think you should put the fish cleaning back into videos. Another channel I watch Darcizzle Offshore puts her fish cleaning in almost every video, I would guess she doesn't have problems with youtube about it
