Although we have some African add-mixture, we're not Africans.
By the way, they were not "black people", they were black skin people who FIRST inhabitanted this land we call America!!
This brother refuse to see it because he cannot get pass the thought of detaching the Africans from our story because he's an Pan Africanist; therefore, he shouldn't be even discussing our rich history and experiences on this land at all.
Just focus on the relics of ancient Africa and their contributions during ancient times because those people havent done anything in the last 600 years.
Now they're all running to European countries and over here to us like our little children simply to cosplay us and live in our shadows because they are too ashamed of being from their own tribal lands and they are ashamed of their own ethnic identities.
Keep my people out of it, we're NOT Africans so stop attempting to push Africa off on my people!!
Go push it on the Brazilians or the Caribbean's, and get off our nuts!!
Pan Africanism has screwed this dudes way of thinking, he believes "black" is synonymous to African which is the Pan Africanist way of thinking.
Contrary to what you Pan Africanist want to believe, black has and will always be synonymous with the ethnicity of the native born blacks of America.
Black to us isn't simply the color of one's skin, it is much much more than that.
Africans have NEVER identified themselves as black until most recently when they all discovered that they could use it as a tool to exploit my people and to wedge themselves into our ethnic identity, nothing more.
Africans never identify themselves as simply "Africans" as well, so why do you Pan Africanist like to force the word African on my people?
You Pan Africanist need to move to Africa and stay there, we have no use for you.
You Pan Africanist are only here to assist in giving away our ethnic identity, unique cultures, rich history and heritage to Africa, the Africans and the Caribbean's!!
You are attempting to erase and replace us!!
You people have been dangerous to my people over the past 60 years.
How can you teach history if you can't even get pass the fact that most black skin people on this land DID NOT come to this land by way of the Transatlantic slave trade?
No one who practices a Pan Africanist idiology should EVER speak on the history here in America, they will simply cause too much confusion because Pan Africanism in itself is a tool used to detach the American native born blacks from who they truly are here in America and instead place their focus exclusively on Africa, the African and diaspora worshipping.
Due to the Pan Africanist ideology my people are just finding out that we've invented over 60,000 inventions in this country and still counting.
Because of Pan Africanism my people are just finding out about John Horse and the Seminole indians.
Because of Pan Africanism we're just finding out that we were the first cowboys and cattlemen.
Because Pan Africanism was so heavily pushed on my people in the last 60 years or so, we are just finding out who we were, who we are, what we have accomplished and what we were doing in our motherland (America), prior to American chattel slavery, during American chattel slavery and post American chattel slavery!!
Pan Africanism is the tool of white supremacy to make my people into immigrants to our own homeland and it has become a gateway for the Africans, Caribbean's and the diaspora to extract from and wedge themselves into our distinct ethnic identity, our culture, our rich American history, our unique American experiences and our political achievements for the sole purpose of providing economic, academic, political and social upward mobility here in America, nothing more.
I'm no longer a Pan Africanist, it has NEVER economically nor politically benefitted my ethnic group!!!
Now that more and more of my people are awakening to the African and Pan African scams, Pan Africanism is slowly dying off here in America because native born black Americans were the only ethnic group to EVER truly take it seriously and we're done being exploited by you Pan Africanist, Africa, the Africans and the Caribbean's!!!
Generational Reparations, Delineation and Ending immigration is our focus.

I think the reason we have this argument is because there are so many African Americans who fight to sever their ancestral link to Africa. I really think that's because we were programmed to believe Africa and blackness is bad. This also comes from a lack of education. That's why I try to educate myself so I know where I come from and who I am. It gives me that sense of pride. Great video.

I just find it funny how black folks want to connect with everybody else except the people who actually look like them. Also I am not very multi cultural. My ancestry consists of the African and European diaspora and guess what huge portion of it is African. Also have you ever wonder why some Africans are cold? Maybe that's because some African Americans are cold. People from Africa have been nice and respectful to me, because I am nice and respectful to them. Are they all nice? Absolutely not, but I can say the same from African Americans. The point is our ancestors didn't originate here and why not be proud of that? I personally am.

So why can't African American learn to be proud that their ancestors were from Africa? Just a thought.

I absolutely LOVE your videos. First off your voice is beautiful for this gentle to explain everything perfectly. I’m the first generation to be born here, my lil bros just came a few years ago and even Nikons more history about this country AND ALL of Africa than ANY of us here. Back home they don’t teach just about their country but ALL over. My lil bro has even been held after class and asked how he knows soo much. It’s a shame we learn more on RUclips than school where we’re supposed to be taught.

TRUTHTEACHER2007 every ethnic group on this planet has a history and heritage to be proud of, here in the USA as black people, we have endured centuries of systematic prejudice and now severely suffer from the trauma that it has subsequently wrought, most of us only call ourselves “African Americans” (I don’t) to spite the negative connotation that the western world tends to associate with that, and in part we seek the pseudoscientific and pseudo intellectualism spouted by those like Tariq Nasheed, Dr. Umar Johnson, Kaba Kamene and evening Dr Khalid Abdul Mohammed, who I consider to be quite evil, and we always claim Africa (while actual black Africans tend to disown us here in the USA) only because Egypt is there, while being completely oblivious to the fact the we descend from slaves purchased (not captured) from prosperous thriving pre colonial sub Saharan African kingdoms in the west and central region, i sometimes wonder if ppl like Hometeam, From Nothing and Hidden History truly realize the value of their content for blacks all across the globe?

The most sensible response that I've heard in regards to the subject matter mentions the immune system. Someone in the comment thread noted that there is a substantial difference between the immune system of native Americans and Africans. Pointing out that the immune system of Africans were much stronger in terms of resistance to European diseases than native Americans. While concluding that the strength of Africans immune system enable them to survive their initial contact with Europeans., unlike indigenous people of the Americas .
If indigenous people were similar to Africans their immune system would have equipped them with the necessary enzymes to fight off European diseases like small pox , measles and the Flu , having said that, I don't think that , just based on the facts stated that Indians were Black.

I saw Dr. Van Sertima speak when I was a teen and my mind was blown. He talked about a current in the water between the two continents that was so strong it could take a ship from African shores to the Americas in 3-5 days. He also talked about how scientists tested hair samples of mummies and found traces of cocaine that could only be found in parts of the Americas which proved there was trade between those cultures. I dunno. European history has a bad habit of eliminating truths.

"It is definitely clear that he definitely sailed the Atlantic Ocean"
I don't think it's definitive for the following reasons:
    1. The resource-rich islands off the coast of West Africa were untouched.
    2. There's no evidence (linguistic, botanical, artifact, biological, etc) that shows Africans in the Americas before Columbus.
    3. The accounts of the Syrian historian Shihab al Umari who interviewed Musa Keita 12 years after his hajj is the first known mention of Abubakari II's expedition.
    4. A lot of this theory is pushed by the work of Van Sertima who himself based his theory on the transcriptions in the Virgin Islands by the wildly discredited English biologist Berry Fell, who claimed the Celtic, Egyptians, Greeks, Phoenicians and Hebrews visited and settled the Americas thousands of years ago.
I think with the right attention, Afrocentric archaeologists might uncover the history on the matter (much like the case of the Norse settlements in the Americas 500 years before Columbus). But as of right now, I can not see enough evidence to support this theory.
I do agree with you that it is definitely worth exploring because our history is important and I can not thank you enough for pushing a narrative for black men and women to be more responsible with the information they receive and put out. I will look up the books you mentioned about the shipwrecked Africans to try to understand your perspective more.

In the book he said, one ship returned because he feared being pushed into the unknown, also, in his book, he said when the ships never returned he himself commissioned more ships and sailed to the Americas himself! While the Olmecs may have come from Africa, the real question is if no one was here when the Olmecs got here and they stayed (which they did) then wouldn't their off-spring be indigenous to America? If that's so, then to say that the initial people of this land were Black wouldn't be far fetched.
When we speak of the Mongoloid people, we generally do say because they migrated from China or Mongolia that they are chinese or Mongolians, we say they are native americans. Yet, they too originated from somewhere else.
The initial Indians looked liked us. They had different complexions and even hair textures. If you go back to Garrett Morgan ( the inventor) he described himself as an Indian. He was the first to come out with a hair straightener, which he stated came from an Indian recipe they used to straighten their hair. So, to say that the Black Indians didn't straighten their hair is not true. This was done long before the straighten comb.
Our people have always been master craftsmen, architects and the like.
The dances we do today, whether you are Sigma, Kappa, Alpha or Omega are tribal dances. These dances can be seen in many of the native tribal dances that are done by the natives today. This too goes back to Africa but is not only in Africa.
When you look at the Pyramid designs, you will see similarities. In Calixtlahaica, Mexico you will see a Ankh just like the ones in Egypt. This isn't coincidence. This only proves people traveled and shared thoughts and technologies. This also proves that these people are no different than we are today. Except they weren't hung up on color. They took in pride in their culture, their tribe and lineage. They intermingled with others and grew.
It wasn't until White people made color a construct that people began to bicker and argue. If you look up the etymology of the word Black (Blaek, with the e being reversed) the initial meaning was a lack of color (white). Had nothing to do with dark complexion or dirty for that matter. In fact, the word White as a social construct goes isn't Introduced until 1609. So, as anyone can see all of this is new and shouldn't be taken as to whether a particular group existed or not.

@ メラニメラニ....Couldn't find your comment on the thread to respond earlier.
However, you are misinformed. The Olmec heads prove that the original people were Black.
In 1524 - 1526 Giovanni Verrazano wrote about his travels on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. He described seeing two distinct people. One group he described being like Ethiopians. Now anyone knowing, knows Ethiopia is what they called Africa before it was called Africa. Verrazano described their build as well as their stature. He described their hair. He then went onto to describe the 2nd group. He described them as dark skinned Orientals. This would have been the Natives you speak of today.
If you look at pictures of the Ainu people of Japan in the 19th century, you can see how groups evolved over time. The Ainu people look Black. Some had coarse hair while others had straight hair. So, it's not improbable that Natives shared the same skin color but had different hair textures.
There are plenty of books out there which also parallel my statements. Unfortunately, these books aren't made available to the masses and schools don't tell you about them. However, if you go to the library of Congress they are there.
You also must look at Archaeology. The Clovis people were here prior to the Natives arriving. There are even older groups possessing older tools than those found in Clovis. So, I think you must do more studying. I believe you'll be astonished to know that Black people weren't just in Africa, they were all over the world.
Remember, the first Black placed into slavery didn't come from the Africa. The first Black placed into slavery was captured off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1524 by the Dutch and taken to Europe. This is documented history that anyone can look up.
Now, let me address the so-called slave trade. If you look on slavevoyages.org they show the voyages and where the dropped off the people. 95% of all captured slaves never made it to North America. Those people were dropped off in South America and in the Carribean.
What's most important to note is who actually made it. Out of the majority of the slaves which made it to North America, 66% of those were males. Now, why would they bring so many males here? Who were these males to mate with?

I do agree with your point that this hypothesis seems a bit of a stretch, however, it doesn't seem entirely impossible. This situation reminds me a lot of the the history of the modern Hungarian state in Europe. Groups such as the Magyars and Avars that settled in the Pannonian Basin were originally not native to Europe, have become over time, integrated into it's culture and history. Despite that though it is a bit of a controversial statement to call them native or not.

Nothing but respect for bro he's been doing this for a long time and I love the fact that he teaches black history that is not taught in schools or talked about nearly enough.
