Hollywood is more interested in putting out these generic films that glorify white people...Sex in the City and 50 shades of Gray...then it is in producing really original material. Or if they do let a black film get made its about black drug dealers or Tyler Perry's Amos 'n Andy ghetto garbage. There is much more to the black experience than that.

    • @Lyz.ette.x
      @Lyz.ette.x 4 года назад +2

      Arberor It’s actually quite interesting that you bring up the Umayyad empire (who were from Northern Africa) that conquered Spain, Persia, and other regions along the Mediterranean- which in fact is in Europe. With the help of the Moors from Mali, Morocco, Egypt and Sudan, they heavily reigned from 756-1031 (AD), while the Moors alone reigned for 800 years.
      The Moors brought new scientific methods to Europe, and furthered physics, math, philosophy and more. One of the cities that was in Moorish territory, was the most modern city in Europe. The Moors introduced paper, greater education, and new crops to Spain.
      If you would like to learn more about the beauty and strength about Africa please do a simple google search, or find some damn research.

    • @arberor4597
      @arberor4597 4 года назад

      @Elizabeth Ondoma
      The Umayyad caliphate was a Arabic ruled dynasty and it’s capital was in Asia not Africa.
      The none Arabs in North Africa and everyone under the rule of the Umayyad caliphate didn’t have the privileges the Arabs did which is why berbers of North Africa revolted.
      The people of North Africa and even some of the most prominent Islamic scholars spoke poorly of black people
      Ibn Khaldun was a Arab in North Africa is considered to be a important figure in the modern disciplines of historiography, and sociology and said this about black people
      -Therefore, the N**** nation are, as a rule, submissive to slavery, because N**** have have attributes that are quite similar to those of dumb animals
      Avicenna is one of if not the most significant thinkers of the Islamic civilization said
      N**** people who are by their very nature slaves.
      There is a distinction made between North Africa and sub Saharan Africa.

      Arberor I’ll say this. 1) The Umayyad Caliphate is an Arabian empire (as you have said) however, the Umayyad and the Moor are two different people. Since you clearly have never travelled to North Africa or bothered to look up anything that isn’t biased by your racist views, not all people of North Africa are of Arabian descent or have Arabian blood.
      Let’s take Egypt for example. Before the Arabs, Ptolemaic and Europeans invaded the country, during Egypt’s long golden age, black Pharaohs, priests, and merchants ruled the land.
      In fact, the Sudanese came and ruled in Egypt for forty years, also Ethiopia, the second most powerful kingdom of the time was a big threat to Egypt. Also, places like Punt, Nubia, and Kush which were all south of Egypt in sub Saharan Africa was what Egypt called the people who lived there Demigods. The pharaoh who enslaved (not that it was right) the Jews were dark black Africans.
      So this notion that the people of North Africa are not black is wrong. Look up countries like Mali, Morocco, the many black people of Egypt and Libya.
      2) Black people are not Niggers. It doesn’t make sense to believe someone who isn’t black, tell you what black people are. There were and still are to date, many royal families and powerful kingdoms spread across the continent. Look up Queen Nzinga, Queen Makeda. How Ethiopia fought off colonization, how South Africa fought against Apartheid, how Mali had the wealthiest man and kingdom in the world. I myself am a direct descendant of Royals.
      Also, if you think being slaughtered, raped, separated from your family, and chained in your own home, while watching your city burning to flames, then being transported naked for three months. Just to find you are going die slaving for people who you did no wrong. Having your identity, history, and people erased. But still surviving and continuing to grow and fight back. If you think that makes a nation weak, you are ignorant and toxic. (And no. Don’t give the argument that some west African tribes traded their own people, I’ve heard it already.)
      Before they were slaves they were: doctors, scientists, mathematicians, farmers, explorers, conquers, kings, scholars. Slavery erased that, and now we have to fight to reclaim our title.
      3) Indeed North Africa was influenced by Islam and the Arabs, but so was Somalia, Angola, Sudan, Burkina Faso and more. North Africa is not separate, it even has the word AFRICA to help uneducated people out. We have the richest culture, diversity, history, and people of this world. We have strong kingdoms that could have and in fact, did conquer many nations.
      But that is not what makes us beautiful. Our ability to keep pushing no matter how much bs this world feeds us. Our ability to continue telling our stories, no matter how long the world has silenced us. Our ability to thrive and be happy, even when the world tears us apart. The strength it takes to love your people and yourself when the rest of the world values you less than animals, is something you will never know.
      They have stolen our land, gold, diamonds, oil, crops, coffee, people, culture, and history.
      The one thing they can’t steal is our strength.

      @Elizabeth Ondoma
      1) I never said that all North Africans were Arabs. I said the Umayyad caliphate was a Arab dynasty, I also said the none Arabs of the Umayyad caliphate such as the berbers of North Africa didn’t have the same privileges the Arabs did within the Umayyad caliphate. Berbers Persians Kurds etc all revolted against the Umayyad caliphate. Spain was conquered it was incorporated into the Umayyad caliphate. The berbers Persians Arabs Turks etc of these Islamic caliphate all spoke poorly of black people and racism in the Islamic world today still exist.
      2) I read how Ethiopia fought off colonization. The Russians supported the Ethiopians against the Italians due to the fact that Ethiopia was a orthodox country. The Italians sent appeox 20,000 men fight over 80,000 Ethiopians with firearms obtained from Russia. Italy was unorganized in their attack didn’t take the invasion seriously
      In the 2nd Ethiopian war. The Italians mobilized 100,000 troops against the hundreds of thousands of Ethiopian troops and took the operation seriously. Italy was victorious. Italy lost 10,000 men Ethiopia lost 377,000 men.
      After apartheid South Africa has only shown how blacks have turned what use to be a prosperous country into a third world Nation.
      3) Africa is a geographic term not a racial cultural or religious term. The term Africa is purely geographic that’s all. Black people have in recent year racialize the term.
      North Africans are culturally, linguistically, racially, distinct with the sub Saharan Africans and North African nations such as Egypt has more historical, cultural, racial, religious, linguistic, ties with middle eastern nations like Jordan Iraq and Lebanon than they do with sub Saharan African countries like the Congo Cameroon South Africa Ghana etc
      Richest culture? Asia is home to 3 cradles of civilizations, the largest empires of all from Eurasia. Europeans and Asian nations like Italy France China Germany India Persia are home to the most UNESCO cultural sites in the world. The industrial revolution, the agricultural revolution, the Greeks romans Persians Arabs Indians British Chinese Assyrians Italians Portuguese etc all shaped the world we live in
      How has sub Saharan Africa changed my life ?

    That was one issue I have with Rome because unlike Africa, Europe was heavily reliant on the Roman Empire. Very few countries out side of Rome where to the level of the Roman Empire ( within Europe ) most where pagan tribes or smaller nations. So when it fell they lost everything and thus the dark ages.
    But Africa has seen many empires and to my knowledge there never really was a dark age or lack of knowledge of advanced technology.
    (this comment is not trying to be bias or anything these are just my thoughts. I’m not saying Africa is superior and Europe wasn’t good. It’s just the reality that Rome controled most of Europe and thus was the continents power center.)

      •the best university in Africa is the university of Cape Town (a university founded by Europeans in a city also founded by Europeans)
      •The largest and oldest universities within African nations such as the Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Zimbabwe etc were all established and founded by Europeans

      The oldest bank in Nigeria founded by Europeans.
      The oldest bank in South Africa also founded by Europeans.
      I could go on forever
      Of course there were many more such as the infrastructure investments made in railroads, irrigation projects, modern agricultural technology etc
      Life expectancy rose, infant mortality rate went down, and literature was being introduced to places such as the Congo South Africa Zimbabwe Zambia Mozambique, Madagascar, Ghana, Cameron etc modern plumbing and sanitation, and many many more
