Vintage Solingen Straight Razor. Hone and test shave: Part 1

  • When I got this razor there were chips in the blade and the scales were broken. So I've polished it and given it some new scales.
    Part 1 is where I hone the razor, from chip removal to finish. All in all this took me about 25 minutes and I've edited out half of it.
    I don't consider this video a tutorial. There are other RUclipsrs who are better at this and they can also explain it better. This is more about sharing my process and how I reason when I make decisions.

    Pretty shocked at how much water you use honing this razor ! I am by no means a green freak but it’s just not necessary. I’m a plus 20 years veteran barber/shaver. Thanks for sharing.
