4:13 to 4:23 for those 10 seconds Eddie is playing Hole In The River the part where normally Neil uses his wah pedal, and Eddie Rayner or Mark Hart plays the bassy piano bit.
ah the most underrated and under utilised instrument in music- the trusty ol' spoons! Finally, they appear on RUclips! 15 years of watching RUclips and they make their long awaited debut.
My girlfriend of the time shouted me a ticket to this show …. Man I was in heaven when the lads hit the stage and unbagged and launched in. So, so good.
Thanks for all the great videos Peter. @louisevans8838 is that how Hole In the River began? as a live jam on straight old line? or is this interpolation just a 93 thing?
Hi Tim, I have no idea. It possibly might have. But when Mitchell was producing or when Nick joined, Neil, and Paul it might have been added together. Or possibly Eddie must of played it because he knew the chords already has been the keyboardist for Crowded House in the late 80s before Mark Hart, and thought it sounded good for the jam.
Yes it is, Noel Crombie designed the backdrop, then Crowded House used it in the Together Alone tour in 1993 to 1994, then used it in the final concert when they were all together in 1996.
Perfection! Happy 70th to the finest spoonologist there ever was!

It’s good to see some of the Crowded House rig on this tour, like the Rhodes piano! 👌
Love it ❤️ Noel's always the best!!!
Brilliant... light years ahead of their time..

Wow. Thanks!
Is that the same backdrop from "Crowded House - Farewell To The World" in 96

So who was playing the lead guitar line in the middle of the song? Didn't appear to be Neil.
+Threefingerblues ...it was me!
it is Neil mate.. can't you tell by the voice
Nope, on the video he's playing rhythm. Must have been Eddie on keyboard. Sounds like guitar tho.
Threefingerblues No, Eddie wears a purple suit with one sleeve on, not Neil. Neil wears an orange suit
Quick, DUCK! .... WOOSH!
